The rain is lashing down outside my office on this cold and windy Monday morning in April – welcome to Spring! Will the rain ever stop? Who knows, but we all know we need some sunshine soon.

In trying to brighten things up in time for the scorching Summer ahead (!!!!!), Headlines in May/June is again rammed full of bright colours and tempting offers to help your margin. The front page is the best place to start with Bavaria, the exceptional 3.4% Dutch lager that is new to the UK. We haven’t listed a price, but when we tell you, we know you will be pleased. It ticks the boxes in quality and branding, but will help you tackle your price per pint on your bar, whilst also making

The theme for a lot of the brands this time around is winning. You can win tickets to Wimbledon, a trip to Tokyo, go to an England Euros game or you could even find yourself in your very own Henley Gazebo too! Enter now, someone has to win them.

We thank all of you who attended our Wine and Spirits Portfolio Tasting in April. What a day it was – has to be the best ever thanks largely to the efforts all our suppliers and customers made to be there. It is easy to say you are too busy, but being there helps the whole trade move forward.

METHOD:

Into a highball or glass mug pour all your ingredients over ice, garnish with fresh mint and fruit and serve.

• 65ml Adnams Single Malt Whisky

• 10 Mint Leaves

• 12.5ml Sugar Syrup

• Ice - crushed and cubes

METHOD:

Shake the Single Malt Whisky, mint leaves and sugar syrup with ice until cold and strain into a highball glass or julep tin filled with crushed ice. Churn gently with a long handled spoon and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with mint sprig.
