Canadians drive on the right today, but many provinces once drove on the left. British Columbia and the Atlantic provinces made the switch during the 1920s, while Newfoundland didn't change to right-side driving until January 2, 1947. Photo of Dunsmuir Street - 1921

HEALTH & WELLNESS CORNER

OCTOBER AWARENESS

WORKPLACE BULLYING AWARENESS WEEK October 18–24, 2026

Everyone deserves a safe and healthy workplace. This awareness week is an opportunity to recognize harmful behaviour, support one another, and learn how to report instances of bullying. What is Workplace Bullying? WorkSafeBC describes bullying and harassment as inappropriate conduct or comments that a person knew, or reasonably ought to have known, would humiliate or intimidate a worker. It can be obvious or subtle, and may happen verbally, in writing, online, or through workplace actions. Behaviours to Watch For • Verbal aggression, insults, or intimidating comments • Spreading malicious rumours or false accusations • Deliberately excluding someone from work discussions or withholding information needed to do a job • Humiliating, belittling, or repeatedly undermining a coworker • Harmful hazing, damaging belongings, or other threatening conduct NOTICE Recognize conduct that humiliates or intimidates.

What Can You Do? • If you experience it: Put safety and wellbeing first. Write down what happened, including dates, places, words or actions, and any witnesses. Save relevant messages or emails. • If you witness it: Do not join in or dismiss what happened. Check in privately, listen without judgment, and encourage the person to use the workplace reporting process. • In everyday interactions: Be respectful, avoid gossip, include others in work-related communication and speak up when a comment or action crosses a line. • When reporting: Discuss your concerns with your manager, supervisor, Human Resources representative or other designated contact.

SUPPORT Listen, document, and connect people with help.

ACT Use the reporting process and help stop silence.

Human Resources – If you feel you or a coworker are experiencing bullying, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at HR@Lordco.com.

This week, choose one action: check in with a coworker, review the reporting process, or commit to interrupting gossip and exclusion. Small actions help create a safer workplace.

Kudos Shaun Specken - Vernon #40 The vernon store has some staff that are great and dedicated to customer service, like Shaun Specken. They also have some staff that need additional guidance from the leadership team. All in all Lordco is my go to for parts due to their good pricing and great service.

Noah Riches - Maple Ridge #89 Noah was very friendly knowledgeable and went above and beyond for my needs . -Mike charna

-Steve buburuz

Gurpal Singh - Newton #27 Came in looking for brake pads and rotors and Gurpal was fantastic. He took the time to confirm the exact fitment for my vehicle and made sure I got the right parts the first time. I've been dealing with him for two years now and he never disappoints always knowledgeable, patient, and easy to deal with. Would definitely recommend asking for him -Harminder Mann

MJ Scott-Cromarty - Merritt #54 MJ, worker at Lordco literally saved me and he needs a raise for how professional he is! Mid highway I had an issue with the car and desperately I stopped at Meritt and randomly went to Lordco. It was the best decision as I got quick help and managed to proceed driving on highway. -Inna Fisun

Chris Chapple - Vernon #40 I was broke down on my way through with a wheel bearing issue and the guy I called about parts was great. I got there 10 minutes later and he had a couple of options pulled and we were able to get the right ones for my wheel. He grabbed other parts and things I needed for the repair and reloaded the tire with hub in my truck wile I paid. Thanks Chris and thanks Lordco for having all that in stock in store. -Mark

Jessica Beck - Metrotown #49 I always have a great experience here. The staff is always so friendly, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond. Today, Jessica, the manager, was especially amazing and helped me with a warranty return for my battery that had gone bad. She was incredibly kind and made the whole process easy. I really appreciate the excellent customer service from everyone here! -Kaila Kosuljandic

Ziaollah Roshani - Vancouver #66 Mr Zia helped me with my parts , he was very experienced and professional and assisted me with being very helpful and patient. I recommend him to everyone. -victor erfan
