GRAPEVINE ITS STARTING TO GET FROSTY! LORDCONEWS

November has arrived, and with it come frosty mornings, the first dustings of snow on the BC mountain peaks, and that unmistakable chill in the air in Alberta that says that winter is on its way. While pumpkins and Halloween décor may still be lingering on doorsteps, at Lordco, we’re already embracing the festive season ahead.

It’s time to mark your calendars for Lordco’s 2025 Holiday Parties! This year’s celebrations promise all the warmth and cheer you need to chase away the cold—think hearty dinners, great music, and our ever-popular raffle gift baskets. It’s the perfect reason to swap your work gear for something festive, raise a glass, and enjoy a night of laughter and good company with colleagues, friends, and family.

So, as the first snowflakes start to fall and winter settles in, let’s trade in frosty commutes for festive cheer. Pull out your party shoes, bundle up, and get ready to celebrate the season

AWARNESS MONTH

November is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month! Domestic Violence can affect anyone, and it can be hard to spot. This month is all about learning the signs, creating change, and supporting victims of domestic violence.

What is Domestic Violence?

Domestic Violence is characterized by any sort of abuse within a person’s domestic circle, usually meaning abuse by a partner or family member. However, domestic abuse can happen to anyone and can occur within a range of different relationships. Domestic violence is a pattern of behaviour that is used to gain control over the victim. This can take the form of physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological abuse. Domestic abuse is often meant to frighten, intimidate, manipulate, blame, or injure someone. However, abuse is not always obvious at first.

Knowing the Signs

If you have experienced any of these behaviours, you may be a victim of domestic abuse. It is important that you talk to someone about your experience and remove yourself from the situation as soon as possible.

The behaviours include, but are not limited to:

• Embarrassing you or making fun of you in front of people you care about.

• Putting down your accomplishments.

• Making you feel like you can’t make your own decisions.

• Using intimidation or threats to gain compliance.

• Treating you roughly – such as grabbing, pushing, pinching, or shoving your body.

• Blaming you for how they feel or act.

• Pressuring you in a way you are clearly not comfortable with.

• Making you feel like you are nothing without them.

• Preventing you from spending time with others.

• Exerting any type of control you are not comfortable with.

What To Do If You Are Experiencing Domestic Violence

If you feel that you are in danger, call 911 or use the National Domestic Violence Hotline. If you need additional support, contact a confidential counselor using Lordco’s EFAP program. Remember that you are not alone and that no one deserves abuse. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, seek help as soon as possible!

You can find more information and domestic violence support services at https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/health-promotion/stop-family-violence/services. html

This November, spread the word and create change by talking about Domestic Violence.

Ian Wilson - Penticton #48

Thank you Ian!!!!

After dealing with Hyundai, Kia and other auto parts locations, Ian at Lordco saved the day in less than 5 minutes!!!

The part needed (that we were told we couldn’t find and was not sold on its own) was found and bought and paid for!!!

Definitely make Lordco your FIRST stop

-Krystal Elka

Aidan Docherty - Salmon Arm #50

I had car trouble tonight, my car key battery died “not fun”. I was very stressed out called Lordco, thankfully Aiden picked up, my nerves were immediately calmed when he told me they sold the key battery I needed, he sold me a 4-pack and installed it in my key no questions asked. Then showed me how to do it so I would know for next time. Aiden was a great help and had amazing customer service.

-Ella Kendall

Mark Harman - Langley #9

Had an excellent experience here. Came into Lordco today to buy break pads. I appreciate the time spent with Mark to explain how the pads work with vehicles. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It's great to see staff that fully engage with customers to provide the best experience for them. Thanks Mark!

-Jess Yarko

Vancouver #66

I went to Lordco on SW Marine Dr for some windshield wipers. The service at the counter inside was really good. I went out to my car to replace the old wiper blades but had difficulty installing them on my vehicle. One of their employees came out to my car, found that there was a part missing in the package of one of the new wiper blades, went inside, got a new package and installed both on my vehicle. The employee’s name was Wes and he deserves 5 gold stars for his courtesy and for his assistance. He was SO helpful in the store and outside at my vehicle.

-Jack Huberman

Braeden Vajda - Vancouver #33

Called ahead. Talked to Brayden. Impeccable phone and in-person experience. Parts were ready on pickup and Brayden took the time to ensure compatibility. I was beyond seriously impressed with every aspect of his professionalism.

-James Whitlock

Devin Donaldson - Prince George #50

Was broke down when I come to town, Altenator was shot. They boys did pretty much everything besides install the part for me. Great service and help, very friendly and helpful, highly recommended, what truly exceptional service is like. Helped me out of a really bad situation especially on a Sunday!!

Thank you Devon!!
