Debutante to poverty to sainthood

Katharine Drexel, noted for her heroic virtue in helping the Native and African American peoples and foundress of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, was raised to the church's highest honor, sainthood, on October 1. The church ruled that Drexel was responsible for two miracles, paving the way for her canonization. Drexel gave up over $20 million to aid the less fortunate and construct and staff countless numbers of educational institutions. Story on page 2
