DIRECTOR REPORT DIRECTOR REPORT Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation’s mission is to Build Community, Enrich Lives, and Care for the Urban and Natural Environment. This report is a look back and summary of operations supporting our mission and promise of excellent services to the people of Lake Oswego.

May marked the start of a vibrant summer season for Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation, highlighted by the opening of the 25th Farmers’ Market season and a series of well attended community events. Opening Day brought record Mother’s Day weekend attendance as families gathered to enjoy local food, flowers, music, and community connections. Throughout the month, residents also came together to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, participate in the record setting 50th Annual Lake Run, honor those who served at the Memorial Day Ceremony, and enjoy the debut of Live & Local at LORAC. These events reflect the department’s commitment to building community, enriching lives, and creating meaningful opportunities for residents to connect. A special thank you to staff across all divisions, including Parks, Natural Areas, Recreation, Aquatics, Golf, and Facilities, whose hard work and preparation helped ready our parks, facilities, and programs for a successful season of events and summer activities.
