Building ‘destroyed’ in collision VEHICLE COLLISION
DRIVER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Emergency services were called to an incident on Manchester Road, Stocksbridge, on Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle collision. The collision resulted in significant damage to an uninhabited building situated adjacent to Christ Church, opposite Hole House Lane. The property, once home to Paul Cotteril TV Repairs, has been left in ruins following the incident. Emergency crews, including several fire engines and ambulances, were quickly in attendance at the scene.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police confirmed: “This was a single-vehicle collision. The driver was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.” It is understood that a silver vehicle was involved in the collision. The vehicle was seen on its side to the rear of the building, suggesting it had travelled through the wooden structure and onto land below, located to the rear of the property.
