THAT'S SO LONGVIEW... LONGVIEW.. Not sure if you’ve heard the term “that’s so Longview” yet, but it’s getting tossed around and associated with a myriad of negative acts and unfavorable behavior. Someone sees something deplorable and states “that’s so Longview”. We’ve heard it said with eye rolls, with a sigh, and sometimes with disgust. The term, as it’s currently used, seems to portray that there’s nothing we can do, this is just how it is, and that nothing is going to change… some things do need to change and we as a community are working on that, but the list of great things to do, see, and to be a part of is growing! So we would like to continue the use of the term “that’s so Longview” but we’ve got a way better use for it… Lake Sacajawea Park… that’s so Longview Longview Public Library… that’s so Longview Longview Outdoor Gallery… that’s so Longview Beautiful Golf Courses... that’s so Longview Cowlitz Black Bears … that’s so Longview Free Movies and Concerts … that’s so Longview Gorgeous Historic Downtown… that’s so Longview Lower Columbia College… that’s so Longview Youth Sports Opportunities… that’s so Longview Squirrel Bridges… that’s so Longview Great Family Events and Festivals… that’s so Longview Outdoor Opportunities and access to nature… that’s so Longview About to Celebrate 100 Years as a City... that's so Longview … the list can go on and on as to why being fun, family-friendly, and beautiful is SO LONGVIEW! Longview is pretty amazing when you think about the great place we live, work, and play. Just turn these pages to see all the amazing opportunities to join in and get involved! Sun's out... fun's out! So here’s a simple suggestion: Work hard to make sure that each day is better than the day before and then imagine what our days could be like as we get older. Now think about if we worked together a little bit each day to make our community better, what it can be like… THAT'S SO LONGVIEW!

"Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
