established in 1906, this school year mar ks 110 years for LLA. Within all these years, so muc h history lies in them. Whether it would be as recent as the class of 2015, or even dating back to the class of 1965, LLA has a great deal of heritage around the who le campus. The Flaiz Science Hall is home to the natural science labs and classrooms and some of the mathematics classrooms. However ther e is more meaning behind the name than that. The building was named in memory of Walter Collins Flaiz. On the plaque displaying his name, it reads: “...Farseeing Administrator, Inspiring

z’ legacy here at LLA live on through that building . A building we probably all have seen or heard about is Franz Hall. Franz Hall was finished constructing in 1988 and was dedicated to C. How ard Franz. Franz devoted 14 years of his life teac hing at Loma Linda Academy. His dedication to LLA was so transparent and died only three days afte r last being in the classroom with his beloved stud ents. Just recently, Franz Hall was dismantl ed due to safety concerns in the building, however, the meaning behind Franz Hall was not forgotten. In fron t of the new Student Services Building (established in 2011), a memorial of Franz Hall was created. On the memoria l is the plaque that was originally placed on Franz Hal l and it reads,

The new biology room, the stud ent services building, the addition of the front of the gym, and the removal of Franz Hall has made a huge difference at LLA,so it seems like a different place than where I wen t to school.” She then added, “but then I walk into Nor th Hall or into Miss Bradley’s room, and it feels like nothing has changed at all.” Another building we all know about is Rhoads Hall. Rhoads Hall is home to Beth Rob ertson’s Computer Applications lab, Jay Linthic um’s Technical Integrated Eduacation lab, LLA’s I.T. department, as well as the Mrs. Sara Gillepsie’s art clas sroom. Much like the other buildings here at LLA, Rho ads Hall also has a lot of history to it. It was named after Gayle E. Rhoads who was the head principal of LLA from 1988 to 1996. On the plaque on Rhoads Hal l it reads, “Dedicated to God, Education and Lom a Linda Academy, Dr. Rhoads inspired those who were privileged to work with him .” Rhoads certainly had a lasting impact
