CONNECTIONS YOUR SUMMER 2025 COMMUNITY UPDATE

Hey, can I tell you a joke?

My name is Stewart, and I am 76 years old. I have lived at Bradford House for almost two years. I struggle with severe psychotic symptoms of Schizophrenia. There was no housing available to me in my hometown, too far away from my family members to visit me and check in on me

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2025

frequently. Before coming to Bradford House, I lived in a group home in Guelph, which abruptly shut down and I was about to become homeless. My family members were made aware of Bradford House, and they were excited at the prospect of having me closer to them as they live in York Region. My family applied and I was accepted, so I can be so much closer to them as we are a close family. I have struggled with my mental health for most of my adult life and I have found that with the support I receive from Bradford House, I have a good life. The best thing about living at Bradford House is that I get to relax with other seniors and tell my jokes to everyone and anyone. The new Bradford House is set to open in spring 2026. With the senior population expected to rise significantly in the coming years, the larger, modern, and purpose-built residence ensures that more individuals, like Stewart, have a place to call home.
