Womens Health Hub Opening Locally
A new Women’s Health Hub has launched at The Dr Lord Group in Leigh, Greater Manchester, bringing together over 20 years of combined clinical experience to provide accessible, doctor-led support for women at every stage of life.
The service is a collaboration between Medical Director and CEO Dr Keiron Lord and Lead Women’s Health Nurse Lara Nelson, combining medical leadership with extensive specialist gynaecology experience to deliver thorough consultations and advanced, evidence-based treatment options in a safe, regulated setting.
Designed to offer timely appointments and longer consultation times, the hub provides women with direct access to specialist care without waiting lists.
“So many women tell us they’ve been putting up with symptoms for years,” says Lara Nelson, Lead Women’s Health Nurse. “Whether it’s pelvic discomfort, bladder issues, painful intercourse or menopause symptoms, they often assume it’s just something they have to tolerate. We want women to know there are options and that conversations are completely normal.”
Dr. Lord and Nurse Lara Nelson first met while working at Warrington Hospital in 2021, where Lara was part of the gynaecology nursing team and Dr Lord was completing specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Through working closely together, they developed both a friendship and a shared vision for improving how women experience healthcare conversations an idea that would later evolve into the Women’s Health Hub in Leigh
