Welcome to the July issue of Local Living I can’t quite believe we’re here already! With the lovely weather we’ve had recently it has (almost) felt like Summer has arrived. July sees the first voucher page for Local Living (page 7). Have a nosey and see what you can save a few pennies on! As usual our What’s on guide over on Pages 10 and 11 gives you the low down on lots of local events happening. We have our classified section on pages 14 and 15 with lots of our lovely local businesses. Show them we can fully support local trades. Our front cover is the lovely Amanda from Amanda’s Pantry on Crow wood Road in Lowton. Take a look at her advert on page 9 for more details.

Take a peep at page 13 and have a read about how much money our fab Slimming World ladies have raised for Cancer Research UK August will soon be coming round and we are already working on it. If you have a local business that would benefit from going into 10,000 homes throughout Lowton and Golborne get in touch. We are really friendly honestly. See you next month.

We appreciate all the support from the community who donate items to us. Everyone is welcome - come and meet our valued friendly volunteers and have a look round. For the past nine years Compassion in Action have met the needs of people in crisis with provision of furniture, food and clothes, accommodation, skills training, education and advocacy. We have a holistic approach to a person’s life in crisis, helping people to live independently from total dependency. From humble roots in 2006 we now have a charity that operates over many sites including Patrick House, Leigh; food distribution and furniture recycling in Atherton; painting and decorating across Wigan borough, as well as a Rainbow Eco Farm in Leigh. As need continues to be evident in our local area we will continue to expand our activities to meet that need.
