Dharamsala Teachers Professional Development Program A Teacher Professional Development (TPD) program is designed to help educators enhance their teaching skills, stay updated with the latest educational trends, and improve their overall effectiveness in the classroom. These programs can take various forms, such as workshops, seminars, online courses, conferences, and mentorship programs. TPD program has been adopted and implemented in TCV schools from many years. On 24 August 2024 a day long program aimed at realizing the TPD goals was held at TCV Dharamsala.

Teachers made best use of the platform to share their best practices, success stories and trending teaching approach for the effective classroom teaching. The program aims to create an engaging professional learning community which would go a long way in fostering collaborative learning among teachers. Mr. Lhundup Namgyal, the school TPD coordinator spoke about Assessment Learning Modules which emphasis the new dimension of assessment and its kind – Diagnostic, Formative and Summative and explained the significance of focusing more on diagnostic and formative assessment. Teachers learnt a dozen of practical assessment tools and motivated to try them for easy accurate continuous assessment. Teachers were familiarized with Pineapple Chart which is a strategy that allows teachers to invite one another into their classroom for informal observation. He encouraged all to cooperate to build collaborative learning culture in all three sections the future. Mr. Tenzing Rapgyal, a senior PGT English teacher shared the action research he had undertaken this year captioned Classroom Management. He dwelt on the most disturbing problems of indiscipline in his strategy for classroom management. The data interprets his goal of making his students self disciplined and more responsible for their learning was achieved. Mrs. Tashi Yangzom, an enthusiastic TGT Social Science spoke about Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). She shared her experience of preparing for the exam, the syllabus, the qualifying marks, and other important details. She recommended teachers to take the test as a part of professional growth plan. The event was enriching and stimulating. A Career Exhibition in Senior Section 30th September, 2024: An enriching Career Exhibition was organized in senior section by school counselor, Mrs. Tsering Choedon. The activity aims to acquaint students with a wide range of career fields that suit their interest and ability. It was one of the most important activities initiated from the counselor desk which facilitates students to plan for their future. The exhibition was arranged in the section corridor. The entire students made the best use of the time listening to the explanation and exploring the career of their choice and other interesting emerging careers.
