M&R AUTO CENTER A FAVORITE: Auto Painting, Auto Repair Center, Body Shop, 2026
Diagnostic Center and Oil Change
Offering top quality service for over 41 years M&R Auto Center is a family-owned business that has been meeting its customers’ auto service needs since 1982. What began with Earl Martin as a one-man shop has evolved into a thriving independent repair shop. Earl semi-retired in 2015 and turned ownership over to the second generation. His son, Ryan, and his team of 15 employees operate a full-service auto diagnostic and repair facility that includes a full-service collision center as well as a modest pre-owned car sales lot. Earl’s daughter, Amy Martin, manages accounts. M&R Auto Center can meet all your auto needs, from routine maintenance and inspections to check-engine lights and exhaust repair. They also offer fleet, notary and towing services.
6 • Readers’ Choice Awards 2026
Over the past four decades, M&R Auto has built not only a successful business, but also long-term customer relationships based on quality service and trust.
M&R Auto Center is located at 535 E. Ross St., Lancaster. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, visit www.mrautocenter.com.
“We’re really proud of the fact that we don’t upsell,” Amy says. “That kind of sets us apart.” As a family-owned business, their customers come first. They get to know them and their vehicles personally. They give honest answers and strive to provide excellent service. “We do our best to do the best for the customer. We like to treat people like family,” Martin says. “We’ve developed friendships and relationships with the community. There’s a lot of good people in Lancaster.”

SARA GALLO CUSTOM JEWELERS WINNER: Best Custom Jewelry Store 2026
A FAVORITE: Engagement & Wedding Rings, Fine Jewelry Store
Bringing Custom Jewelry Design to Gallery Row The experience at Sara Gallo Custom Jewelers is built around collaboration, creativity, and personal connection. Every custom piece begins with a unique idea and evolves through a design process tailored to each client. Gallo describes her approach as a “choose-your-own-adventure” design experience, prioritizing the stories and lifestyles of those she serves. After launching her business during the pandemic, opening her first brick-and-mortar studio in 2024, and recently relocating to Gallery Row, Gallo continues to refine the collaborative spirit that defines her work. This dedication resonates with the community, as LNP | LancasterOnline readers have once again voted her studio the Best Custom Jewelry Store.
8 • Readers’ Choice Awards 2026
Each project begins by discovering what matters most to the client. Gallo works one-on-one to uncover inspirations, whether for custom engagement rings, wedding bands, or one-of-a-kind fine jewelry. The comprehensive process includes exploring art history, sketching, creating detailed 3D renderings, and producing 3D-printed prototypes. These prototypes allow clients to see, feel, and try on their designs before production officially begins. Beyond new creations, Gallo specializes in reimagining sentimental heirloom pieces, deconstructing them to honor the past while reflecting the client’s modern personal style. The studio’s recent move to 146 N. Prince St. along downtown Lancaster’s storied Gallery Row marks an exciting chapter. The expanded
location provides larger workshop and consultation areas, more room for visitors during First Fridays, and space to showcase Gallo’s small-batch collections. As a full-service jeweler, she also offers professional cleaning and repair services. Gallo notes that the move feels like a natural fit, as the neighborhood’s artistic energy complements her highly personal mission. “Gallery Row is a place people visit to discover something special,” Gallo says. “I’m honored to represent jewelry as an art form here.” Studio hours are by appointment Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To schedule a complimentary in-person or virtual consultation, visit saragallo.com, email contact@saragallo.com, or call 717-842-0845.

GARDNER’S MATTRESS & MORE WINNER: Mattress Store 2026
SPECIALIZING IN LESS SNORE MORE CUDDLE™ SLEEP SYSTEMS AND A WORLD CLASS SELECTION OF MATTRESSES AND SLEEP ESSENTIALS.
Finally, Better Sleep for Both of You. Better Sleep. Without Compromise. For 36 years, Gardner’s Mattress & More has been helping Lancaster County residents wake up happier, healthier, and better rested. It’s a different way of thinking about sleep, and it’s why Lancaster County readers have chosen Gardner’s as their Favorite Mattress Store for 17 consecutive years. For many couples, a good night’s sleep can feel impossible. One partner snores while the other lies awake. One needs a firmer mattress to support an aching back, while the other sleeps best on something softer. One struggles with reflux or shoulder pain while the other just wants an uninterrupted night’s sleep. Too often, someone compromises. At Gardner’s, they believe no one should have to. Unlike traditional mattress shopping, the experience begins with education, not sales. Customers receive complimentary mattressbuying guides, a free sleep assessment, and expert guidance from their team of certified sleep science coaches in a relaxed,

no-pressure environment focused on finding the right solution for their unique sleep needs. As the exclusive home of Less Snore More Cuddle™ Sleep Systems, Gardner’s helps couples discover that better sleep doesn’t have to mean separate beds or settling for someone else’s comfort. Whether it’s reducing snoring, relieving reflux, easing lower back pain, or simply creating individualized comfort and support, each person can sleep in the position that’s right for them while sharing the same bed. Because the best sleep happens when both people wake up feeling their best. That’s also why Gardner’s created the region’s only Dream Room, a private, reservation-only space where couples can truly relax, compare sleep systems, and experience the difference before making one of the most important investments in their health. Every purchase is backed by the 120 Night Wake Up Happy Comfort Guarantee, along with personal follow-up after delivery to ensure every customer is completely satisfied.
Gardner’s commitment to improving lives extends beyond the showroom through Gardner’s Gives Back and the Lancaster Connects podcast, where owners Ben McClure and Jeff Giagnocavo shine a light on the people and organizations making Lancaster County a better place to live. More than 2,000 in-store and online fivestar reviews, thousands of happier sleepers, and 17 consecutive Readers’ Choice Awards all point to the same conclusion: Gardner’s isn’t simply where Lancaster buys a mattress; it’s where couples in Lancaster go to sleep better, together. Visit Gardner’s Mattress & More to experience the Dream Room, schedule your complimentary sleep assessment, and discover why, for 36 years, Gardner’s has been helping couples enjoy sleep again, helping them to sleep better, together and without compromise. GRAUER’S PAINT & DECORATING FAVORITE: Paint Store & Place to Buy Window Treatments
2026
At Grauer’s, we don’t believe in DIY. A weird thing to say when you help thousands of DIYers each year. But it’s about how we help them. You could find new blinds, shades, or shutters at any home center. But at Grauer’s, you’ll find someone who knows outside mount shades insideout. And which fabric actually stands a chance of standing up to an ornery doodle. Same with paint. You could get a can almost anywhere, but what you’ll get
with us are qualified, patient answers to every last one of your questions. Whether you need a primer on primer or the rundown on paint runs. We’re experts on window treatments and paint because they’re all we do. We don’t also sell lawnmowers, lumber, or kitchen sinks. That focused expertise means we can help you find clever ways to save—and advise you what not to skimp on. Our team knows exactly which custom
curtain fabrics could look great in your room. And which blinds are best for lowering energy bills. Don’t even get us started on choosing the right brush. Actually, do. That’s what we’re here for. So that you don’t have to waste half your Saturday watching how-to videos on YouTube. With Grauer’s, you don’t need to DIY all by yourself.

PLAYFUL PUPS RETREAT WINNER: Dog Day Care A FAVORITE: Boarding, Dog Training, Pet Groomer
2026
Elizabethtown’s premier pet resort When Laurie Yost decided to open Playful Pups Retreat in 2010, she had one goal in mind: Giving pet owners peace of mind. “We do that through offering a happy, healthy, safe place for every dog,” she says. Playful Pups Retreat is a premier pet resort with two Elizabethtown locations – one focused on overnight lodging and the other on doggie daycare and training. The original Milton Grove Road location is a canine utopia on 19 beautiful acres. It offers upscale, climate-controlled overnight lodging with a variety of accommodations, and a 2-week board & train program. The Hershey Road location focuses on doggie daycare and dog training; offering three types of daycare: traditional; enrichment, for dogs who require more structure and training; and puppy social skills. They also offer a wide array of dog training programs, including day training and group classes. Both locations offer bathing services. “We really do put a tremendous amount of emphasis on personalizing the stay for every dog, because every dog is unique,” Yost says. The Playful Pups team gets to know each dog so they can tailor their stay to their unique personality and needs and ensure pups start off on the right paw. Some dogs might require special attention, whether it’s hand feeding, belly rubs or extra snuggle time. Overnight guest rooms are entirely indoors, which means dogs get plenty of love and attention during potty trips and activity sessions, instead of spending time alone. A variety of fun activity packages are available to provide additional mental and physical stimulation. “We want the dogs to have lots of fun while they’re with us.” The Hershey Road location also has a fun splashpad where daycare dogs can cool off on hot summer days. Playful Pups Retreat employs a team of 65, all of whom have a love and passion for animals and treat every dog like their own. They are continually training to ensure

an exceptional experience for both their canine and human clients. Yost has earned her certification as a Certified Professional Animal Care Operator (CPACO) from the Professional Animal Care Certification Council, making Playful Pups one of only a few pet care facilities in the state to hold such credentials. This year, Playful Pups went one step further in ensuring families have peace of mind when they drop off their pets. The company has over 16 team members who hold Fear Free certification, meaning staff has been specially trained to mitigate fear, anxiety and stress while creating an environment that keeps dogs happy, healthy, and comfortable. “In the world we live in now, our dogs are our children,” Yost says. “People really have very high expectations for the level of care their dogs receive when they’re not with them. Our goal is to always exceed their expectations. Pet parents deserve peace of mind and every dog deserves to be cared for just like their owner would!” For more information, visit playfulpupsretreat.com, facebook. com/PlayfulPupsRetreat (Milton Grove Rd) or facebook.com/ PlayfulPupsRetreatDayCareTraining (Hershey Rd).

GOCHENAUER PET RESORT WINNER: Kennel and Pet Grooming 2026
Your pet is treated like family at Gochenauer Pet Resort Gochenauer Pet Resort has been voted a favorite by LNP | LancasterOnline readers for a quarter century, but Lancaster County pet owners have trusted the Gochenauer family with their four-legged friends for far longer. Since 1971, when it opened as a boarding kennel for dogs and cats, Gochenauer’s has been providing high-quality services, an advanced level of care and attentive caregivers. That commitment to caring for your pet as if it were their own has endured for 55 years. That’s why readers voted Gochenauer’s No. 1 for kennel and pet grooming and a favorite for doggie daycare. Today, in addition to long- and short-term boarding services that include individual kennel runs with climate-controlled living quarters, Gochenauer Pet Resort also offers a customized, veterinarian-recommended dog day care program where pets enjoy private playtime in six outdoor yards, playground equipment and toys, undivided attention from dedicated and loving caregivers, rest periods in private climatecontrolled bedrooms, and snacks and meals.

GIL LYONS, REAL ESTATE AGENT WINNER: Favorite Real Estate Agent 2026
Every Home Has a Story A home is where life happens. For more than forty-four years, Gil Lyons has helped families navigate one of life’s most important decisions. Ask him what he has learned after a lifetime in real estate, and he won’t begin by talking about markets or mortgage rates. He’ll simply say, “A home is where life happens.” They remember the front porch where neighbors became lifelong friends. The kitchen where holiday traditions began. The bedroom window where a child waited for a parent to come home from
46 • Readers’ Choice Awards 2026
work. The backyard where another generation learned to ride a bicycle. Long after the closing documents have been filed away, those are the things that remain. Every home has a story. That belief has shaped Gil’s approach throughout more than four decades in real estate. While contracts, negotiations, financing, and market knowledge are essential, he believes they are only part of the responsibility. “The greater responsibility,” he says, “is helping people make wise decisions.
Real estate isn’t simply about property. It’s about understanding where people have been, where they hope to go, and helping them move forward with confidence.” Whether working with first-time buyers, growing families, empty nesters, or individuals facing the difficult task of leaving a home filled with decades of memories, Gil has learned that every transaction represents far more than a change of address. It represents a new chapter.
Stewardship Over the years, one word has come to define Gil’s philosophy. Ownership is temporary. Stewardship is enduring. Each generation receives homes from those who came before and, in time, passes them to those who follow. “We care for them, improve them, preserve their character, and prepare them for the next family whose story is just beginning.” It is a perspective that reaches well beyond real estate. “Homes shape neighborhoods. Neighborhoods shape communities. Communities shape lives.” Perhaps that explains why so many of Gil’s clients have returned years later- not only to buy or sell another home themselves, but to introduce their children and, more recently, even grandchildren. Relationships that began around a kitchen table decades ago have continued across generations. Those relationships remain the greatest measure of his career. These recognitions belong to the relationships that made them possible.
“Every family who invited me into one of the most important decisions of their lives gave me an extraordinary privilege. This award is simply the accumulation of thousands of those relationships.” “Being recognized as a Readers’ Choice Award winner is especially meaningful because it reflects something no market statistic can capture—it represents confidence earned over time by clients, colleagues, neighbors, and friends who have allowed me to share in important moments of their lives.” After forty-four years, Gil remains convinced that the most valuable lessons of real estate have very little to do with real estate itself. They are lessons about trust. About listening before speaking. About serving before selling. About recognizing that every home has a story because every family has one. Looking ahead, Gil hopes to continue contributing to conversations that extend beyond buying and selling homes. Through writing, speaking, and community engagement, he hopes to encourage thoughtful discussions about homes, neighborhoods, architecture, history, stewardship, and the communities we leave to future generations. For him, those conversations have always been connected.
“Markets will rise and fall. Neighborhoods will change. But trust, integrity, stewardship, and genuine relationships remain timeless- the foundation of strong communities and meaningful lives.” That is the privilege-and the responsibility-that has guided Gil Lyons every step of the way.

WINNER: Financial Planner
Helping Lancaster Prepare for Retirement and Beyond Conrad Siegel is a consultant-owned financial advisory firm with offices in Lancaster and Harrisburg, PA. The firm has been serving Central PA clients for over 60 years. The financial advisory industry has changed considerably over the past decade. Waves of consolidation have swept through the profession, as national firms and private equity backers acquire local practices at a steady pace. For clients, that often means change they didn’t ask for: a new team, a new fee structure, a different level of service. Conrad Siegel has remained a consistent presence in the local community. The firm is owned by the consultants who sit across the table from clients, not by a private equity backer or a distant parent company. That ownership shapes how the firm operates: as 100% fiduciaries,

BELMOORE FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS WINNER: Accounting Firm, Business Advisory Services, 2026
Tax Preparation Service
Belmoore Financial Solutions Over a decade ago, Lisa Belmonte was a stay-at-home mom looking for a flexible career. Today, she is the owner of Belmoore Financial Solutions — a two-time Readers’ Choice Award winner for best accounting firm, business advisory services, and tax preparation service. “I took a month-long course and fell in love with taxes,” Lisa recalls with a smile. After working for a tax preparation chain and a local accounting firm, Lisa decided to build something of her own — a business for herself and her family. Since 2022, Belmoore Financial Solutions has offered tax preparation services for individuals and small business owners, as well as accounting services. This month, Lisa added another milestone to her growing list of accomplishments, becoming Lancaster County’s first licensed Registered Social Security Analyst. Financial professionals who hold this designation through the National Association of Registered Social Security Analysts are uniquely equipped to help clients determine the best time to file for and claim their Social Security benefits, based on their individual situation and historical earnings records. In addition to working with individuals approaching retirement, Lisa will also help small business owners ensure they are maximizing their benefits. At its heart, Belmoore Financial Solutions is still a personal, community-focused operation. With her husband managing the
54 • Readers’ Choice Awards 2026
office behind the scenes, Lisa is free to do what she does best — connect with her clients one on one. Lisa puts it simply: “I see everybody as a person and an individual — they’re not a number to me just to get the tax return done. I individually sit with everyone and explain everything. They’re not just picking up and signing. I sit with them and go through it line by line.” It’s that dedication to her clients that keeps Lancaster County coming back — and that made Belmoore Financial Solutions this year’s Readers’ Choice.

TEQUILA MEXICAN GRILL & BAR FAVORITE: Burrito 2026
A FAVORITE: Mexican Restaurant
When the World Stood Still, Our Dream Began In 2020, while the world was facing one of the most difficult moments in recent history, our family found itself out of work. Instead of giving up, we decided to take a chance on a dream. With all our savings and far more determination than certainty, we opened a small restaurant, Tequila Mexican Grill & Bar. Many people thought it was a risky decision, and they were probably right. But when a family works together, hard work, perseverance and faith can create opportunities even in the most uncertain times. From day one, this has been a true family business. We have poured our hearts into every detail, hoping each guest feels at
56 • Readers’ Choice Awards 2026
home and enjoys a piece of our culture. The journey has not been easy. It’s been years of long hours, sacrifice and constant learning. Still, every challenge has helped us grow, allowing us to open a second location and, later, a third with Elimar’s Cantina & Taqueria. Each step has brought new challenges and new opportunities to serve our community. Today, being recognized with First Place for Best Burrito in Lancaster and Second Place for Best Mexican Restaurant means far more than an award. It represents the hard work of our family, the trust of our customers and the support of a community that believed in us from the very beginning.
We continue to learn and improve every day, committed to providing the best possible experience for every person who visits us. We thank God, our family, our team and the entire Lancaster community for being part of this journey. This recognition belongs to all of you as well. The Ramirez family of Tequila Mexican Grill & Bar
