Page 1

PUBLISHED: 3 JULY 2026

1. Rationale

The Life Ministry Centre’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure is regarded as an essential service for the effective operation of Oxley Christian College and the enabler of innovative teaching and learning.

Student use of ICT services, digital devices, and other technology resources is governed by a Student ICT Acceptable Use Agreement (AUA) and is an ancillary document to the College-Owned School Device (COSD) policy (pre-2027), the Student Device Program Policy (post-2027), and the 1:1 Digital Learning Program Handbook. The Secondary School Student ICT AUA is intended to operate within and be consistent with existing College policies and procedures, including Anti-Bullying (including Cyberbullying) and Student Welfare. Furthermore, its purpose is to ensure the safe, mature, ethical, and responsible use of ICT services, digital devices, and technology resources made available to students by outlining clear responsibilities and expectations.

2. Scope

ICT services, digital devices and other technology resources are provided for educational purposes only and include (but are not limited to):

• Network infrastructure (Wireless or Wired)

• Network user account and password

• Internet, email, instant messaging, social media

• College-owned digital devices (e.g. laptops, desktops, iPads, printers, scanners)

• Managed Student Device (e.g. laptops)

• Educational online services (e.g. Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Teams, SEQTA, Adobe, ClickView, Edrolo, Jacaranda Plus, Minecraft)

• Online assessment platforms, e.g. ACER, NAPLAN

• Video and photo-sharing websites, blogs

• Forums, discussion boards, wikis, VOD and podcasts

• Video conferences, e.g. MS Teams

This AUA applies when ICT services, digital devices, and other technology resources are used on campus, during school excursions, at camps, for extracurricular activities, and at home. Each family should thoroughly read and understand the content of this agreement, the College-Owned School Device (COSD) Policy / Managed Student Device Program (MSDP) Policy, and the 1:1 Digital Learning Program Handbook, in relation to the acceptable use of ICT services, digital devices, and technology resources at the College. Parents are requested to ensure that their child understands these expectations and responsibilities, including the acceptable and unacceptable behaviour requirements. Declarations and agreements included in this document need to be signed by all students and parents when the device is collected from the College

3. Student Responsibilities and Expectations

As responsible digital citizens of the College community, students are expected to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services, digital devices, networks, applications, and online resources safely, responsibly, lawfully, ethically, and securely.
