Несмотря на замедление в мировой экономике и спад в потреблении, сектор предметов роскоши показывает рост. Согласно отчета “Global Powers of Luxury Goods”, объем вырученных средств 75 самых успешных компаний в сфере производства предметов роскоши составил $ 171,8 млрд в 2014. В среднем это принесло 2.3 миллиардов долларов США для каждой из компаний. В глобальном рейтинге между 75 компаниями учитываются не меньше 10 французских компаний. Самой успешной компанией стала LVMH, выпускающая товары под такими брендами, как Moet, Hennessy, Louis Vuitton SA) , две другие французские компании находятся в первых 10: № 6: Kering (Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent…) и № 7: L’Oréal (Biotherm, Lancôme…) Среди 75 ведущих производителей товаров премиум-класса наибольшая доля (26,9 %) пришлась французским структурам, и это показывает, что промышленность роскошных предметов остается одним из ключевых моментов французской конкурентоспособности на мировых рынках. В 2015 этот сектор должен держать эту тенденцию. Спрос на предметы роскоши особенно ростет в развивающихся странах, что должен стать другим двигателем роста для сектора. Согласно Евромонитору, промышленность продуктов роскоши Франции зависит от туристов со всего мира, больше чем половина ее доходов, €16 миллиардов получают из этой отрасли. Представленные раннее люксовые бренды можно приобрести в центре Будапешта, кроме того, в венгерской столице обычно предметы люксовых брендов стоят дешевле, чем в других больших городах мира. Despite of a slowdown in the world economy and the downturn in consumption, the sector of the luxury resists widely. According to economy reports “Global Powers of Luxury Goods”, the world’s 75 largest luxury goods companies generated luxury goods sales of US$ 171.8 billion, in 2014. This resulted in an average company size of US$ 2.3 billion. France is leading the ranking with not less than 10 companies in the top 75. LVMH (Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA) takes the first place of the list, two other French companies are in the first 10 places: #6: Kering (Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent…) and #7: L’Oréal (Biotherm, Lancôme…) The French companies represent 26.9 % of luxury products sales of these 75 highlights. It shows that the industry of the luxury good sales remains one of the key point of the French competitiveness on the international markets. In 2015, the sector should keep this trend. Demand for luxury goods is continuing to growth particularly in emerging countries, which should constitute another growth driver for the sector. According to Euromonitor, France’s luxury industry depends on tourists from all over the world for more than half of its €16 billion in revenues across all luxury sectors.

Цепной мост. Этот первый исторический и значимый мост столицы, на заднем плане с удивительном видом Будайской Крепости, привлекает и манит огромное количество туристов. По инициативе графа Иштвана Сечени мост был построен по проекту инженера Вильяма Терней Кларка под руководством инженера Адама Кларка в 1839-1849 годы. Во время II Мировой войны и этот мост через Дунай был разрушен, но в 1949 году, в честь 100 летней годовщины со дня его возведения, был восстановлен в первоначальной виде. На крышу тоннеля, находящегося на будайской стороне можно подняться пешком и сверху полюбоваться великолепным видом на Дунай. Парламент. На берегу Дуная стоит Парламент, самое величественное здание страны, построенное в неоготическом стиле. Здание служит постоянным местом заседания Государственного Собрания. Здание Парламента было построено по планам архитектора Имре Штейндла в 1884-1904 годы. Длина здания – 268 метров, высота купола – 96 метров. В здании расположены 691 помещение. С 2000 года на территории Парламента появилась возможность увидеть венгерские королевские регалии: корону Святого Иштвана, скипетр и державу, меч эпохи ренессанса. Здание Парламента совсем недавно было отреставрировано, перед ним был возведен красивый парк, в котором приятно гулять и отдыхать. Также был открыт Центр для посетителей, где можно ознакомиться с историей Парламента, посидеть в кафе, приобрести входной билет для ознакомления с Парламентом внутри.

BUDA CASTLE, THE MATTHIAS CHURCH AND VÁRKERT BAZÁR. With a vast array of sites, museums, as well as streets, squares, restaurants, cafés and stores with a unique atmosphere, Buda Castle and the whole of the Castle District are among the most well-known and frequently visited tourist attractions of Budapest. The Royal Palace, where many battles and wars took place from the 13th century, is a symbol for Hungary. In addition to three churches, including the Matthias Church (or Buda Castle Main Coronation Church), located on Szentháromság (Holy Trinity) Squarea monument with long history, one of the most beautiful and well-known catholic churches of the city, the Castle District also includes five museums, several buildings of historical interest as well as memorial sites and theatres. The Fisherman’s Bastion and the square in front of the National Gallery offer a breathtaking view of one of the most beautiful sections of the

Visitors also have the opportunity to walk onto the top of the tunnel located on the Buda side, offering a marvellous view of the Danube, its bridges as well as the nicest parts of Pest. PARLIAMENT. The Parliament, built in Neo-Gothic style and located on the bank of the Danube, serves as the permanent seat of the National Assembly. The building complex, the biggest of its kind in Hungary, was erected between 1884 and 1904 on the plans of Imre Steindl. The building has 691 rooms, and it is 268 metres long and the dome 96 metres high. Since 2000, the Hungarian coronation symbols —St. Stephen’s crown, the sceptre, the orb and the Renaissance sword— have been on display in the Parliament. The Parlaiment has a brand new Visitor Center with café and in front of the building there is a beautiful park for walking. In the Visitor Center you can buy your ticket to visit the Parliament inside. ST. STEPHEN’S BASILICA. St. Stephen’s Basilica, or Lipót City Parish Church, is one of the most significant ecclesiastical buildings of Hungary as well as a major tourist attraction of the capital. It serves as the main site of worship for St. Stephen. The Basilica is named after St. Stephen, the founder of the Kingdom of Hungary, whose incorruptible right hand, known as the Holy Right, is kept here as a relic. It is the largest church in Budapest, the dome of which can be seen from all parts of the city. The Classicist Basilica was built between 1851 and 1905. Famous masterpieces in the church include statues by Alajos Stróbl as well as a painting of St. Stephen offering his country to the Virgin Mary by Gyula Benczúr. The dome of the building offers a wonderful 360° view of the Budapest.

Здесь находится Цитадель - крепость, сооруженная в 1854 году правящей династией Габсбургов после подавления революции и национально-освободительной борьбы 1848-49 годов. Отсюда открывается прекраснейшая панорама Будапешта, являющаяся мировым наследием. Расположенная на горе статуя св. Геллерта, монумент Свободы и пещерная церковь св. Геллерта также являются достопримечательностями горы. ■

HERO’S SQUARE. Located at the end of Andrássy Avenue, Heroes’ Square is the entrance to the City Park as well as one of the most spectacular venues in Budapest. The three main sites of the square include the Hall of Art, built in 1896, the Museum of Fine Arts, inaugurated in December 1906, as well as the Millennium Monument, linking both buildings visually. The latter includes a 36-metre central column, topped by a statue of the archangel Gabriel who holds the Holy Crown as well as a two-barred apostolic cross, the same way as the founder of the Kingdom of Hungary, St. Stephen did in his sleep according to a legend. The crescent-shaped monument was built in Eclectic style. The semicircular arcades of the monument on the left and right-hand side each hold bronze statues of seven outstanding personalities of Hungarian history. GELLÉRT HILL AND THE CITADEL. The Gellért Hill is the capital’s popular excursion place. The Citadel can also be found here. It used to be a fortress, which was erected in 1854 by the Habsburg emperors after overcoming the Hungarian army in the revolution of 1848-49. A unique Budapest panorama, which is part of the world heritage, can be also enjoyed here. Other sights on the hill: the sculpture of the bishop St. Gellért, the St. Gellért Cliff Church and the Liberty Statue. ■

Рождественская Ярмарка Рождественские ароматы на будапештской площади Верешмарти (Vörösmarty). В этом году, как и предыдущие 16 лет, Будапештский Центр Туризма и Фестивалей (BFTK) опять устраивает традиционную Рождественскую ярмарку на площади Верешмарти. Главная Адвент-Рождественская Ярмарка на площади Верешмарти считается одной из самых примечательных и любимых туристических аттракционов в Европе. Это красочное событие в Будапеште, обогнав многочисленных конкурентов, занимает ведущее место среди предлагаемых праздничных увеселений. В прошлом году по мнению Sunday Times Europe будапештская ярмарка заняла первое место среди 6 лучших рождественских ярмарок, также почетное место в первой десятке списка журнала Travel&Leisure или в ведущих списках портала Expedia, Times, Daily Telegraph. Для организаторов ярмарки важно надежное и качественное обслуживание запросов посетителей, а это достигается благодаря содружеству BFTK с Союзом Венгерского Прикладного Искусства. Около 120 народных мастеров на своих витринах представляют традиционные изделия, украшения народных и прикладных ремесел: от медовых пряников до ювелирных изделий, от керамических шедевров до изделий из меха и кожи. Для любителей традиционных кулинарных вкусов здесь предлагаются сыры, ветчина, колбасы, многочисленные десерты в виде изделий из шоколада и марципана. На ярмарке легко, на любой вкус можно подобрать индивидуальный подарок. Тому, кто выбирая подарок проголодался, в многочисленных павильонах предлагаются согревающие душу горячие напитки и блюда народной кухни, праздничные деликатесы. Без приподнятого настроения нет праздника. На углу площади Верешмарти устанавливается сцена, и каждый день, начиная с вечера, с нее доносится джаз, уличная и всемирноизвестная музыка. Мастера декоративно-прикладного искусства 24 декабря до 2 часов дня ожидают запоздалых посетителей: а вдруг, чего-то не хватает под елкой. Xmas market

The scent of Christmas in Budapest’s Vörösmarty Square.

According to the 16-year old rich tradition warming the hearts of its many visitors, the Budapest Centre of Festivals and Tourism (BFTK) organises the Christmas market again in Vorosmarty ter (Square) this year. The Advent/Xmas market in Vörösmarty square is considered to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in Europe today. Leaving numerous competitors behind, the Budapest event is high in the list of prestigious Christmas venues. In fact, it was number one last year in the Sunday Times list of Europe’s best six Christmas markets, and it also occupied a prominent place in the Travel&Leisure Best 10 List, and in the Expedia, Times and Daily Telegraph ‘best Xmas markets’ list. On the basis of cooperation with the Hungarian Association of Craftsmen (MKSz), it is important for the organisers to provide reliable first-rate services to visitors by selecting the best artisans to sell their products in the square. The venue will see one hundred and twenty-one craftsmen with a broad range of products from gingerbread through jewellery and ceramic artefacts to fur and leather goods. Of course, gourmets will also find what they are looking for, with various kinds of cheese, ham, sausage and indeed desserts like marzipan and chocolate bonbons. It is easy to find an appropriate and personal gift. Those who get thirsty or hungry in the process will find hot drinks and meals as a ‘pick-me-up’, as well as Xmas delicacies at catering outlets. There is no festivity without a proper holiday spirit. Jazz, street, and international music is played on weekday afternoons on a stage located in a corner of Vörösmarty square. The craftsmen will sell their products even on the 24th of December until 2pm in the square, so those who realise at the very last minute that something is still missing from under the Christmas tree may still come to shop. Here we are dealing with the most elegant and trendiest champagnes, such as Cristal de Roederer. It’s not generally known where the name comes from, but it’s thanks to Tsar Alexander II, who was enthusiastic about champagne. However, he was scared to death that someone might try to assassinate him, moreover that a bomb might be hidden in a champagne bottle and that when he attended a reception it would explode and kill him. Thus he ordered that his champagne had to be in crystal bottles, which were transparent, and therefore it was sure they contained only the drink.

This story gave rise to the name and ever since Cristal de Roederer has been the drink of rulers and the famous. These days Moet Chadon Ice Imperial champagne is widely consumed at stylish receptions and splendid dinners. Claude Moet first produced sparkling wine in 1743 and he would clearly be proud if he could drink what is created today bearing his name, since it’s the best of the best. It’s the world’s first champagne which can be drunk with ice. Cellarman Bennoit Gouez devised it and it has a rich fruity taste, as well as being mild. Naturally it immediately conquered the beaches of St.Tropez, and in Miami, Acapulco and Los Angeles it became greatly in demand by restaurants. The appearance of the champagne is magnificent. The entire bottle is white, echoing scenes of ice and snow. No wonder that in 1850 in Courcheval, the greatest ski paradise in the French Alps, the well-todo would drink it before and after skiing. Another special champagne is Rosé Apanage Pommery, which renders tribute to Madame Pommery, known as ‘The Lady of the Roses’. We know from Melchior de Polignac, the grandson of the creator of Pommery champagne, that the lady liked to stand in the middle of her rose garden and inhale the fragrance of her flowers. Rosé Pommery is made from the best selections. Cellarman Thierry Gasco created it and it’s very characteristic. It is consumed in gourmet restaurants and very prestigious places. The Billecart-Salmon house recently appeared with a champagne wonder called Vintage 2004. It comes in a bottle similar to that of the original Extra Brut of 1818, and what is special is that you have to decant it. The champagne has a fine yellow colour and an intensive taste. It is gushing with scents. Produced only in limited series, it is distributed by independent vintners. The price is reasonable, a bottle only costs 130 euros. Talking of Pommery, mention must be made of a masterpiece, which has found great favour among ladies and gentlemen alike. It is none other than Cuvée Louise 1999 champagne. It’s impossible to describe how silky and soft it is. The bubbles disperse in your mouth and it is intoxication itself to clink your glasses with this champagne. Laurent-Perrier’s Aiguière Grand Siècle is a handcrafted champagne produced in the Loire Valley with superb quality. It appeared on the market in November 2010 and those who tasted it immediately became admirers. It is truly classic, elegant and select. Its bottle is pitch black and its label is black with white lettering. According to internationally renowned chefs, it goes best with dishes featuring black truffles. Henriot champagne, first produced in Reims in 1808, is of such high quality that it is only found in exclusive clubs. The company’s Brut Souverain has recently begun to be widely promoted. ■

Дворы Гожду Название Дворы Гожду относится к имени румынского адвоката. Эманоил Гожду (Emanoil Gojdu) был богатым человеком, известным предпринимателем и меценатом. Согласно завещанию адвоката, в 1901 году была построена группа зданий по проекту очень известного в то время архитектора Дезе Циглера. Строительством занимался фонд Гожду, образованный в 1870 году. Весь комплекс состоит из семи пятиэтажных зданий и соединяется длинным коридором-пассажем, который объединяет шесть дворов. В истории эти дворы сыграли важную роль в жизни местного еврейского населения. Здесь был организован первый еврейский молельный дом и вокруг него постепенно стали открываться первые еврейские магазины. Дворы Гожду это городок в большом городе. Здесь расположены в одной куче рестораны, кафе, магазины, клубы, винные бары, выставочные и концертные залы, поэтому здесь всегда, в любое время дня людно и обязательно стоит сюда заглянуть. Вторым большим аттракционом во Дворах Гожду является Blue Bird Cafe. Это кафе, где на месте готовятся составляющие для приготовления особенного кофе и только хозяин знаком с различными способами обжарки зерен кофе и пропорциями его смешивания. Результат: приготовление такого кофе, который Вы нигде не найдете в Будапеште.

Best Bistro and Music Pubs Among all types of catering units in Hungary, it is perhaps Budapest’s bistro and music pubs that can mobilize the largest number of guests today. Obviously, this can be attributed to several factors; but the key explanation is that pubs are capable of reaching and serving the widest range of customer base. When the pub culture was started in Hungary, almost all of the newly opened small pubs were based upon the traditions of English/Irish pubs, offering local copies of those. Later on, when competition among pubs became ever more intense, and people got bored of the old and thirsted for something new, small thematic pubs started to proliferate, offering entertainment opportunities for specific groups of customers and carving out a segment of this market. Gozsdu Udvar Gozsdu Udvar was named after a Romanian lawyer, Manó Gozsdu, famous for his realestate investments. The complex under the name was designed by the famous architect Győző Czigler and built in 1901, almost 30 years after Gozsdu himself had passed away. The complex consists of 7 buildings and a passage formed by six interconnected courtyards, which once played a very important part in the life of the Jewish community. The first Jewish prayer houses were established here alongside different stores and shops. A lot has changed since, but Gozsdu Udvar, a small city within the city, is in bloom again. You can find a whole bunch of cafés, bars, restaurants, shops and clubs here, like Spíler, DiVino, Kolor, Blue Bird Café or Szomszéd, and also enjoy art exhibitions, fairs, concerts and other events all year long, so it’s always worth a visit. It is small wonder that Spíler in Gozsdu Udvar distinguishes itself as ruin pub 2.0 because it is teeming with novelties, adding a unique colour to the bar palette of Budapest. Сравнивая между собой столицы европейских стран, можно убедительно утверждать, что в Будапеште проживают самые миловидные девушки. Это одна из причин того, что в Будапешт приезжает много туристов. Начало 21-го столетия внесло новые веяния в ночную жизнь Будапешта. Удовольствие, получаемое в таком баре, не сравнимо ни с чем. Здесь можно получить удовольствие не только попивая хорошие коктейли и напитки, но и слушая отличную музыку. Здесь выступают интересные ансамбли и проводятся хорошие дискотеки. Руинные бары принадлежат разным владельцам, поэтому все они индивидуальны, работают не на основе франшизы. Интерьер их разнообразен. Например, в баре Симпла Керт (Szimpla Kert) можно попивать коктейль сидя в старой, разваленной автомашине Трабант, находясь в баре Instant вы, держа в руке стакан с палинкой, можете затеряться в лабиринте здания, ну а в баре Кертэм (Kertem) можно представить себя на открытой террасе пивного бара времен социализма. The beginning of the 21st century was an exciting turning point in the nightlife of Budapest: in the central area of the city new places were opened one after another in tenement houses and factory buildings doomed to destruction. These were equipped with rejected furniture of old community centres, cinemas, and grandmothers’ flats, bringing a retro feeling into these places. They were soon called ruinpubs and became popular very fast among the youth of Budapest - ruinpub is the exact translation of the Hungarian name. Ruinpubs often move to a new place, or close for some years, then open in a new place again. They are are not only good places to drink and have a party but also function as cultural community areas with film clubs, theatre performances, concerts, exhibitions, and creative workshops, too. They do not work in a franchise system, there is no specified design, and there are no rules, how to make them. Every place has a unique style and atmosphere. In Szimpla kert (Simple Garden) you can have a beer in a cannibalized old Trabant car. In Instant you can stroll around in the labyrinth of the tenement house. In Kertem (My Garden) you can feel the atmosphere of a socialist beer-garden of the 1980s. Getting to know Budapest by ruinpubs is like being guided here by a local friend.
