A GRAND IMPACT

![]()

In 1926, when The Balmer School first opened, it was a bold idea rooted in courage and conviction. A visionary woman believed education could be different. More personal. More expansive. More connected to the world beyond a classroom. There were no guarantees. Only a bold vision, with a student's future at the core.
Blue Bash is a celebration, yes. But it is also a continuation. A reminder that we are stewards of something far bigger than ourselves. What we do together shapes not only our children’s experience, but the opportunities available to students decades from now. The impact of this community will ripple forward through generations, shaping lives long after our own time on this campus.
Returning as parents to the campus that once inspired us, we are inspired again. Teachers who see potential before it is spoken. By friendships that stretch across grades and generations. By a school that asks our children not only to achieve, but to enter their tomorrow with curiosity, courage, and purpose.
Tonight and together, we carry forward a vision by choosing to invest boldly in discovery, opportunity, and the limitless potential of the students who will follow.
Cheers, Meredith Davis ’01 Natalie Kovaleski ’03 P'32,'35 P'35,'37

“In my most fragile season, LJCDS did more than sustain my education— they safeguarded my belonging. That kind of steadfast community creates a lifelong exchange of impact, where the support we receive becomes the support we are compelled to give.”
Our faculty and staff are the intellectual and relational core of our academic model. When we invest in their growth, we elevate every classroom and every student experience.
Through conferences, global travel, research, and collaborative exchanges, our educators remain at the forefront of innovation, bringing fresh insight, expanded perspective, and renewed energy back to campus. Their learning becomes our students’ opportunity.
A gift to Faculty and Staff Professional Growth is an investment in excellence that compounds year after year. It equips our teachers with the tools, ideas, and inspiration to shape what is next, not simply sustain what is.

Support the continued growth of our educators by making your gift at ljcds.org/bluebash or by scanning the QR code.

"We too, are lifelong learners. Professional development deepens our expertise to listen, guide, and support students and families as they navigate the emotional and social complexity of growing up today."
