The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation 2024 Annual Report highlights the Foundation’s efforts to safeguard the health of our oceans for future generations. This year, KSLOF expanded its work in the Red Sea through partnerships with the Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) and CORDAP, contributed to the creation of a new Marine Protected Area in the Chagos Archipelago, and advanced coral reef monitoring with NASA and Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
The Foundation’s Science Without Borders® Challenge engaged students in ocean conservation through art, while the J.A.M.I.N. and B.A.M. programs empowered students to restore mangrove forests. KSLOF also played a key role at COP29, COP16, and the UN High-Level Meeting on Sea Level Rise, advocating for ocean protection in global climate discussions.
This report showcases the Foundation’s achievements in coral reef conservation, mangrove restoration, and ocean literacy, reinforcing its mission to protect and restore the world’s oceans.
