Interior Design PORTFOLIO

Growing up in the San Juan Islands, I learned to understand space through movement. Water, weather, and light were constant forces that shaped how environments felt, functioned, and changed over time. Interiors were never static. They responded to their surroundings and to the people within them.
From boats and coastal homes to everyday lived spaces, I became attuned early to flow, efficiency, and intentional design.
Small decisions such as how a space opens, where light enters, and how circulation feels had an outsized impact on comfort and experience. These observations continue to inform how I approach interior design today.
As my work developed, floor plans became more than technical drawings. They became frameworks for storytelling that guide how people move, pause, gather, and rest. I approach each project with sensitivity to proportion, materiality, and atmosphere, creating spaces that feel grounded, intuitive, and quietly expressive.
While water remains a constant source of inspiration in my work, my design approach is intentionally versatile. I draw from natural systems, craftsmanship, and human centered thinking to create interiors that feel considered and adaptable. The goal is to design spaces that support well being, clarity, and connection across a range of contexts.

Mixed Media HANDMADE

How can a yacht-based hospitality experience be designed to create a digital detox environment with principles of biophilia to enhance well-being and create a healthy worklife balance for professionals?
Professionals find themselves using technology every day to meet the demands of their work. This constant interaction with technology, from emails to phone calls and notifications, can lead to over-simulation and interfere with their mental and physical health. The lack of boundaries with technology disrupts their work-life balance, making it difficult for them to unplug, decompress, and prioritize their well-being.
The yacht will provide a tech-free space for professionals to disconnect and engage with nature. Using biomimicry in materials and design, the yacht will foster mindfulness, relaxation, and a restored work-life balance. Curated activities will offer immersive, stress-reducing experiences, promoting wellness and mental clarity. The project demonstrates how intentional design can naturally create a harmonious balance between work and life.

Created within a collaborative studio course, Mistrau reimagines a luxury fashion brand’s seventy fifth anniversary through a pop up experience set in the historic Pierre Cardin Quarry in Lacoste, France. As one of five interconnected pavilions, the Non Leather Accessories space offers an intimate showcase of craftsmanship, inviting guests to engage with jewelry, scarves, and refined accessories inspired by Provence. Drawing from the brand’s origins as protection against the mistral winds, the design transforms this symbolism into a sensory environment where materiality, light, and movement express renewal, preservation, and enduring heritage.

Our collection invites guests to immerse themselves in luxury while experiencing the allure of Provence. Every element tells a story, blending the region’s spirit with the epitome of refined style. With intricate craftsmanship and lavish materials, strategically placed lighting illuminates tangible links between family traditions, creating luminous beacons of heritage that bridge the gap between past and future.

The fine jewelry display is inspired by the mountains of Provence, featuring a velvet-lined interior that curves to create three distinct tiers for showcasing our silver, gold, and gemstone pieces. The back wall is mirrored, and the entire display is encased in glass to protect the jewelry.

03: THE MOXY HOSPITALITY HOTEL

This studio project reimagines the Moxy Hotel at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront through ADA compliance and inclusive design. The goal was to create a space that supports users of all abilities while maintaining the brand’s energetic and social identity. The lobby features a bar inspired by the form of a boat hull, introducing a playful coastal reference aligned with Moxy’s character. The redesign addressed ADA standards for clearances, reach ranges, seating, restrooms, and circulation, while also prioritizing safety, wayfinding, and comfort. Public areas including the lobby, bar, lounge, game room, and guest suites were reconfigured to promote intuitive movement and equal access. Through plans, elevations, sections, and material specifications, the project balances technical compliance with an engaging, experience driven environment.

The Moxy hotel brand expresses the cheerfullighthearted lifestyle of the young at heart. The design features organic forms of nature inspired by the different depths throughout the ocean. Implementing its luminous, mystical, and energizing properties to create a space of refreshment and imagination.Through intentional light selections, curvularforms that suggesting movement, and elementsof mystery, the Moxy is its own playground thatwelcomes all. From the ocean’s depth and theVirgina beach’s coastal atmosphere, the visual aspects appeal to the senses throughout the layout, leading to the next destination and adventure.

LOBBY PLAN

This ADA guest room is designed to provide a fully functional and accessible sleeping and bathing environment. The ceiling treatment subtly references gentle wave forms, echoed in the design of the headboard, creating a cohesive visual rhythm throughout the space. These elements work together to establish a calm, cozy coastal atmosphere while maintaining comfort and usability for all guests.

The Coastline is designed as a playful grab-and-go destination where movement and materiality shape the guest experience. A looping conveyor belt displays fresh pastries, while layered materials such as speckled stone, deep blue tile, and subtle linear textures reference the colors and rhythms of the shoreline. Sculptural forms and warm lighting soften the space, balancing MOXY’s energetic brand with an inviting coastal atmosphere.

The Boardwalk serves as a social game room where guests can gather and enjoy one another’s company. Positioned adjacent to the bar and lounge, the open floor plan encourages fluid movement and shared experiences. Communal tables and accessible board games foster interaction while reinforcing the hotel’s playful, community-driven atmosphere.

In this second view of The Boardwalk, guests are offered an arcade-style experience that encourages interaction while aligning with MOXY’s playful brand identity. Open gaming areas promote energy and engagement, creating a dynamic social atmosphere. Along the perimeter, sculptural booth seating provides more private moments for guests seeking a quieter experience within the same vibrant space.

The Slacktide Lounge is positioned just off the check-in area, offering guests the option to enjoy a drink while waiting or pass through on their way to the rooms. Dynamic mood lighting and bold brand elements create an energetic first impression that reflects MOXY’s vibrant identity. This space sets the tone for the stay, blending social atmosphere with a relaxed coastal influence.

Inspired by the form of a boat hull, the central bar serves as both the check-in desk and primary social anchor of the lobby. A lowered transaction surface is integrated to meet ADA requirements, ensuring accessibility without compromising the sculptural design. As the focal point of the space, the bar establishes a strong visual identity while reinforcing the project’s coastal narrative.

This final project for Form, Space, and Order explores the translation of music into inhabitable form, emphasizing organization, movement, and spatial experience. Students were tasked with interpreting a selected piece through three dimensional composition.
Inspired by To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra, the design investigates the evolving idea of home through an interactive outdoor folly. Two metal domes are connected by an external stair system that guides exploration and reflection.
The stair acts as the primary organizing element, with varied platforms marking moments of transition and discovery. A central spiral stair rises to an elevated vantage point, creating a space for pause and retrospection. Through abstract form making and choreographed circulation, the project transforms musical narrative into spatial experience shaped by emotion, memory, and movement.
