Welcome from Skywest Simmentals

On behalf of all of us here at Skywest Simmentals, we would like to welcome you to the 12th Annual Western Harvest Sale. We hope that you all had a successful harvest after enjoying a summer where most areas seen more rain than in previous years which helped the crops for many farming operations. It was a busier than normal summer around our farm and after many discussions as a family and with our fellow consignors we made the decision it was time build a sale barn here at the farm and continue the legacy of the Western Harvest sale. We do want to thank the Daines Family and the Innisfail Auction Mart for being a great host for the sale over the years.

We also want to thank our fellow consignors in joining us with the venue change. The Western Harvest has been a huge success over the years not just because of the great cattle that sell in it every fall but the great people behind those cattle and we look forward to continued success for all consignors for many years to come.

As most are aware that its been over 2 years now since the Skywest herd join forces with the incredible cow herd of Virginia Ranch which has built the foundation for Skywest Simmentals of today and the years to come. We are forever grateful that Harry, Michelle and the entire Satchwell Family entrusted us with their life’s work of creating one of the most influential Fleckvieh herds in all of North America.

This group of heifers is our largest in number and most powerful group of females that we have ever made available by auction. The breeding power of Milsap, Rumble, Synergy, Driller, Rambler, Voltage, Marquee, Dutton, Kriptonite, Landmark and Radko proved successful as you will see progeny from each bull throughout the sale string of heifers. The goal is to produce females that will be productive in their new herds while maintaining strong udders, proper bone structure for longevity as breeding stock and great disposition.

We would also like to thank the Transcon Livestock team for the professional services that they provide us throughout the year.

All heifers will have videos available to view a couple weeks before the sale day. If you have any questions or would like to tour the heifers prior to sale time feel free to give any one of us a call.

Sincerely,

The Edwards Family

Milsap Progeny

Since the day that Virginia Ranch acquired “Milsap” in the spring of 2022 for $110,000 from the Best of Both Worlds Bull sale hosted by Double Bar D Farms, he has been on the radar of all Fleckvieh breeders that have seen him or heard about him. When the opportunity to acquire the majority of the Virginia Ranch herd presented itself, we knew that “Milsap” needed to come join the Skywest bull battery.

We knew “Milsap” was special, but after watching him breed 40 cows last spring and admiring how easily he moves across the pasture, his incredible depth of rib, thickness and big black feet, he exceeded every expectation we had for him. He has been impressive at every stage of his life and we were proud to showcase him at The World Simmental Conference held at Clearwater Simmentals. The entire industry was able to experience him up close and appreciate everything that makes him great.

This is only the second opportunity to acquire Milsap semen as last year we sold 15 straws that averaged $3,833/straw in the National Trust Sale. Don’t miss out on this incredible breeding masterpiece.

With his second group of bred heifers hitting the sale market this fall, they are simply impressive. The Milsap bull calves are incredible this year that make up the largest sire group in our bullpen, which will be on display at the Virginia Ranch/Skywest bull sale in February 2026. They are worth a farm visit to see in person or take a tour when you arrive for the Western Harvest sale 2025. His calves are stamped with his dark pigmentation, heavy hair coat with a moderate birth weight and tons of growth in them at an early age.

Offering Choice

We have spent all summer trying to figure out how to keep these two incredible heifers in the herd or make them available in the Western Harvest sale that’s known for top tiered genetics. What we finally came up with is…. The bidders can make the choice for us as highest bidder can pick their favorite and we will happily put the other heifer back in the herd.

• Virginia Destiny 804F is an incredible BEE Ducati 191D sired cow with a perfect udder and excellent feet. She is the dam of Destony 468M and grand dam of Maple 472M. Beechinor Bros Simmentals purchased her first heifer ever sold in 2021 at the Western Harvest Sale for $31,500.

• Virginia Jordyn 174J is sired by Radko 751G who is indeed a Gudas son that Harry retained for his own use. Jordyn is the dam of Maple 472M and what a job she did. And it was no fluke as Jordyn has an incredible Milsap heifer at side this summer again.

• These two heifers are polled and sired by either Milsap or Voltage. You cant go wrong with either one

• Both heifers are Diluter free

• Another polled “Voltage” heifer that speaks for herself. I don’t want to keep telling everyone how good they are. Take a look and see for yourself

• We struggled putting these “Voltage” heifers in the sale pen, as they should all be staying. That being said we do look forward to them creating their own future and hopefully we can bring back some of their genetics into our herd down the road.

• “Holley’s” dam also produced the “Virginia Rush” calving ease bull that Harry retained to use on his own heifers. So that speaks for itself how good he is.

Skywest Pol Shawna 419M

Skywest Joice 441M

• Joice is out of another good young female that was in the herd of cows that came over from Virginia Ranch. The way these cows adapted and fit into our program exceeded our expectations in every way.

• We really feel this a big future for this heifer with the Voltage/Marquee lineage

• The breeding options will be endless with “Joice” if your desire is polled or horned, she will be up to the task.

• Dilutor Free

• “Jenny” is a great example of the “Voltage” daughters. Dark pigmented, moderate framed with lots of thickness

• Her mother is a beautiful young “Crude” cow that is quickly climbing the ranks in our herd.

• Fingers crossed you get a polled calf and you could easily pay for this investment in one swing

• We had a tough time letting this heifer go but every sale needs some sale features and we feel “Jenny” does just that

Skywest Pol Moana 460M

• Power and volume is a very accurate description of this polled heifer

• Heavily pigmented, doubled goggled lots of rib and hip

• These Voltage females are front pasture heifers that are some of the first ones noticed when touring the group

• Moana’s mother is a fancy made crude daughter who we like quite a lot. Mostly because the crude progeny have worked very well for us over the years.

• Dilutor Free

• Look at this naturally thick and excellent footed female

• Another strong “ Voltage” daughter that we think very highly of and these voltage progeny are consistent year after year.

• “Brandy’s” dam was one of Harry’s picks out of the strong set of heifers that sold in the Southern Alberta Round-Up sale.

• Some older names show up in these bloodlines (LFS Balboa 40U, Anchor T Impact 2H, Sibelle Vicking 35B)

Skywest Pol Holly 450M

• Holly is one fancy heifer with her full goggles, lipstick marking and dark red pigment

• She is the direct result of being sired by Voltage and her easy doing dam Starwest Pol Hailey. Who is a direct daughter of the $275,000 BLL Kalibre bull that made waves the year he crossed the sale ring.

• This dark red powerful heifer is one that we like a lot for her quiet disposition and big-barreled middle.

• Virginia Ranch purchased her dam for $16,500 at the 2018 Western Harvest Sale from Spruce View Acres. She is still a great looking cow even with a few years on her as she continues to produce.

• We are confident that Valery will follow closely in her mother’s footsteps and be a cornerstone in someone’s program.

• Finally… We have been excited about this “Milsap” heifer since the day she was born and the possibility of her being Homozygous Polled. Which we can now confirm that she is Homo Polled.

• Her dam, a big powerful polled cow known as “Penny” was purchased by Harry as a bred heifer from our good friends at Applecross Simmentals. She was the high selling female that day at the Red Deer Equation sale and for good reason as she was possibly the best polled heifer sold in Canada in 2019

She did it with “Maddy” and did it once again this year by putting one of the top bull calves in our bull pen this year. And Yes he’s a “Milsap” as well and a special one to watch for next February.

• Melany’s incredible depth and volume made her a popular choice during the summer pasture tour season.

• The only reason that we agreed to sell her is that the sale is a special one for us as it’s the first female sale hosted at our farm. So we knew we needed some show stoppers to make it a memorable one. Melany does just that.

• Her mother BLL Ember 1827F is an excellent cow that Virginia Ranch purchased from Beechinor Land & Cattle. A cow that will most likely be a donor cow for us in the near future

• Another polled “Driller” daughter that should have some friends on sale day. Ask any of us here at Skywest about what we think of “Driller” and his daughters and the constant comment is that we wish we had more of them in the herd

• His progeny are long spined, nice tidy skulls and excellent footed.

• When you add a splash of “synergy” on the dam side you have the best of both worlds. I don’t think we need to mention what “Synergy” genetics have done over the last few years other than record prices year after year!

• This is a heifer that we have a bit of a soft spot for, as she is the last “War Cry” heifer to be born on our farm as he now works for a new herd in the Red Deer area.

• She carries all the traits that War Cry displayed in his progeny, excellent disposition, pasture pet, big barrel and heavy boned which is rare to find from a calving ease bull.

• If you are looking for a heifer that will meet you at the gate and follow you around the pen than “Kenzie” would fit the bill, a plus is that she’s also a pretty darn good heifer.

A nice easy doing heifer from the ground up. Good rib shape and a very docile temperament

Her grandmother BEE Diamond 17H is a Radison daughter that we purchased at this very sale from the good people at Beechinor Bro’s. She has done a great job for us and this is the first female from this cow family that has been offered up for sale. Imax, Battle Cry and Radison 5Z are a few of the genetics that helped create this heifer.

• These Landmark heifers are really starting to grab our attention as they developed into power machines

• Naturally thick, tons of hip and topline are words to describe the Landmark’s.

• Great disposition

Welcome from Beechinor Bros. Simmentals

Michelle, Kyler, Austin, Easton, Kaidynce and I would like to welcome you to the 12th Annual Western Harvest Heifer Sale. A year ago, I thought how could this thing get any better, we were seeing record prices, and the cow calf pair sector was making a profit! A year later the record prices never stopped being set, so I guess I will say it again “what a time to be in the beef industry!”. Heck it’s still fun taking the cull cow to town!

Kyler had a big year, in June he graduated from High School and in September moved to Vermillion to start his schooling at Lakeland College. Who knew he was such a great help!!!! We miss him but are excited for him all at the same time!

Easton and Austin have made the same hockey team and Easton has gotten his driver’s license! I feel for Michelle, as now she doesn’t have to be driving to all those hockey practices, I know I can add things to the honey to do list! Kaidynce still has a weird passion for horses and we aren’t 100% sure where this problem came from. That being said, she has worked hard with a three year old colt and almost has him broke…….. note I know nothing about a horse and she has done it all on her own…… great work Kaidynce!!

We also need to extend a big thank you to our second family, our hired crew, your time and effort doesn’t go unnoticed and we couldn’t do what we do without you!!

Here at Beechinor Bros Simmentals our goal is to produce a female that will be productive while maintaining a strong udder, correct structure and calm temperament. The heifers on offer are out of a full health program and were given Express FP 10 along with Covexin Plus prior to breeding. By sale day they will be fully covered with Scour Bos and will have had both rounds. This year we did this in the spring and the heifers should receive a booster once you have them home. The heifers came home off pasture in the middle of September and have been on a TMR. This year’s group is a wide sampling of the many different herd bulls we make use of and of course the second offering of the Rumble females!! We are extremely impressed with how the group did last year and are thrilled at how Rumble stamps a perfect udder on his daughters!

Again, we would like to take a moment to Thank everyone on the Transcon Team. From the guys at the sale to the gals in the office we know that they are professionally looking after all the fine details and making sure I’m on track. We would also like to Thank everyone that supports our program and hope that your purchases do nothing but make you profitable.

If you have any inquiries about the offering, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us or the Transcon Team. We would love to answer your questions and have a visit. To everyone that has inquired or purchased animals in the past we truly appreciate your support. If you are passing by the farm or near Didsbury prior to sale day, please stop in. If you are unable to see the animals in person there will be videos available on the Transcon website a couple weeks prior to the sale for your viewing pleasure.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, John, Michelle, Kyler, Easton, Austin and Kaidynce Beechinor

I’m not sure how this female ended up with the sale heifers!!!! My mistake is your gain!! This long spined, easy doing, attractive female has always been an eye catcher. Whether it was as a calf, as a yearling or now as a bred she has always had ‘that look”. 93H, Pol Erica’s dam, is turning into a top end female. In 2023 she sold another good bred heifer to Flatlands Cattle Co. That same winter she had the very first rumble bull calf ever born, unfortunately she laid on it when he was only a few hours old. In 2024 she had this beautiful heifer and in 2025 she has a top end Malone son in the bull pen!! Bred for an early January Intrepid calf!!! Talk about the potential for a very marketable calf!!

Dilutor Free. I really shouldn’t be selling this heifer!! This has been the only heifer I have gotten from 851F since her first calf 5 years ago! That heifer sold in the 2021 Western Harvest and has been working at Fly By Night Simmentals ever since. 440M is a big barrelled, easy muscling female who reminds me a lot of her dam. If you are wanting to sell big powerful bulls be sure to check this female out. She has been one of the big ones all of last summer and was on display with her dam at the World Simmental Congress just outside of Olds. I am excited to hear what she has for a calf as I have nothing buy great reports about the intrepid calves.

Dark red, soft sided, yet still has that cowy look. This heifer is almost a carbon copy of her mother. Same square udder, same colour and same stylish look. I remember the day we couldn’t decide between the two bred heifers that Wolfe’s had on offer, so the decision was made to bring them both home. Both these Geronimo cows have turned into great cows and can be bred a number of different ways with excellent results. The Rumble females did a great job their first time out and we are very pleased with the quality of udders and the amount of milk they have in those udders. Bred to a bull we are really high on that sold in our sale this spring, Steady Eddy. Note his dam is our newest donor cow!!

If this heifer was any darker red, she would be black!! Cleopattra’s dam 17J, was our pick of Clearwater Simmentals bred heifers and we are extremely happy with her production to date. 17J’s first calf was a bull and sold to the Beagles in Rimbey, Cleopattra is her second and her third is a full brother to Cleopattra and is currently strutting his stuff in the bull pen!! 465M is carrying an exciting pregnancy to our new polled heifer bull, Maverick!!

This soft made, deep ribbed, easy fleshing bred heifer has a pedigree filled with maternal power. Another very good Elevation daughter that shouldn’t be leaving. This bred heifer has been a standout since the very beginning. As a calf she spent the summer across the road and was on full display for everyone to see. Her dam was selected out of Oklahoma and is a total outcross to anything north of the 49th. This was her first kick at the can and we are totally impressed with what she has done. The breeding to NAC Battle Cry should lead to a very profitable calf!! I expect this female to be very productive and look forward to watching what she can do for you!

Another blood red almost black Elevation daughter! Like I said in an earlier comment we are very fond of our Elevation females with many of them being top contributors in our replacement bull and female pens over the last couple years. 460M’s dam, 36B, was a big broody cow that caught the attention of many visitors over the years. We were very excited when she walked off the truck when the BMS cows arrived and she didn’t let us down. I was offered money last fall for this heifer out of the pen and I said then that I couldn’t sell her….. I’m not 100% sure how or why I am writing this comment but it will be very hard to watch this heifer walk around on sale day….

Welcome from Virginia Ranch

Virginia Ranch [Harry & Michelle; Brandon, Dani, Ryerson & Hayeson; Allison & Spencer] welcome you to the 2025 Edition of the Annual Western Harvest sale; the first inaugural sale in the New Sale Facility at Skywest Simmentals (Didsbury, AB). We are thrilled to still be a welcome participant at this sale in this exciting new venue. We once again are offering our entire 2024 fullblood heifer calf crop as bred females in this year’s offering. Although the entity is shrinking; we are still proud of the gals we do have on offer. As Skywest Simmentals (the Edwards’) purchased 100 of our cows they now have the largest offering in this sale - we are still gracious and thankful to the Edwards’ investment in our life’s work and hope they have no buyer’s remorse! This past spring, we sadly lost Randy Ward; we were blessed to have had Rand-Mar (Randy & Marilyn) as an incredibly passionate business partner for over 13+ years (Randy truly loved Simmental Cattle). Our sincerest thanks to Rand-Mar and hugs/condolences to Marilyn. We always enjoy working with our fellow consignors Beechinor Bros. Simmentals [John & Michelle Beechinor], Langer Fleckvieh [Pam & Lyle Langer], Polar Farms [Joe & Lindsay Loomis] & Madge Simmentals [Tanner Madge]. We feel all of us collectively have offered a tremendous group of females that are full of potential for the Simmental Seedstock industry.

We invite you all to attend on sale day; however if you can’t join us in person – please reach out to our trusted Transcon Livestock management team or join online through the online streaming service. If you have shown an interest in our consignments via phone calls, private farm tours or have taken time to view our consignment videos – we sincerely appreciate each of these gestures. We have been Simmental breeders for over 40 years and are proud of the animals we have raised that have gone on to produce for our fellow cattle enthusiasts. It warms our heart to look at many pedigrees and see the contribution Virginia animals have made on the Simmental business. We always strived to raise functional females with sound udders that are correctly built. We have a full herd health managed program. Before breeding these heifers received their modified-live vaccine of Bovishield Gold FP5, Covexin Plus. As newborns they received our new calf protocol treatments, then Bovishield Gold One Shot (twice/boosted). This fall they have received Ivomec pour on when they went through the chute during clipping. The heifers did not come off of pasture until September 20th- to be pictured for this catalog deadline date of Sept 25th; so the pictures you are viewing here are the heifers in their working clothes without any extra feed in them.

We have marketed our animals with the trusted team @ Transcon Livestock for our entire breeding career and have appreciated the professional service they provide to us. We are grateful to the Innisfail Auction Mart who up until this sale has always been a fantastic host facility – we want to give Danny Daines and his team sincere thanks for the many years! All heifers will have videos available to view a prior to sale day. They can be found on the Transcon Livestock website. If you should have any inquiries on our consignments we hope you will reach out to us, as always we will make the time prior to sale day for you to view personally any of our consignments. Welcome from Polar Farms

We are once again extremely grateful and excited to be bringing 6 of our best bred heifers to the Western Harvest

This was a tough decision to let these ladies go, but it’s not every day we get an opportunity like this to stand beside these other top breeders in our industry. So we thought this is the sale to show off what we have been building in our program.

Over the past few years we have been touring around and collecting ideas and genetics from around Canada to bring back to our northern BC ranch, doing this and along with the help and knowledge from some senior breeders we have started building a pretty impressive herd.

These 6 girls we brought to town are a quick snapshot of what we strive for in our program, they are thick, deep and full of body with great feet and disposition.

We are excited to see where these heifers will go and how they will perform in their next herd, feel free to reach out with any questions or stop by for a tour

Welcome from Langer Fleckvieh Simmentals

Welcome to Transcon‘s 12th Annual Western Harvest Simmental female sale.

& Pamela Langer

Different location and different scenery but what will be the same is the quality from each consigner. We do not expose our heifers to a bull and unfortunately, we had a little bad luck in our AI pen this year, so we will only be bringing four girls to town. They are very sound females out of quality cows and bred to proven and sought after calving ease sires. All heifers are on full herd health and will have their first scour guard shot before sale day.

Hope to see you all sale day.

Lyle & Pam

100% Full Fleckvieh. Homo Polled. Non-Dilutor We don’t often make homo polled heifers, but when we do….. Seriously Pol Madeline is an extremely powerful heifer out of one of our up and coming potential superstars around here. Julia hit it out of the park with this heifer and probably has the top prospect in the heifer pen this year as well. Pol Madeline is a very attractive female, nice feet, setting up a beautiful udder and has an outstanding disposition. We believe there is an enormous amount of potential in Pol Madeline to be a top contributor to your polled program. Bred up early to Anchor D Outlook. She will be well worth the investment.

Welcome from Madge Simmentals

Welcome to the Annual Western Harvest Female Sale.

What a beautiful fall we’ve had across the prairies this year. On behalf of Madge Simmentals, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the Annual Western Harvest Female Sale.

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to Skywest Simmentals for hosting the sale at their outstanding new facility—it’s a pleasure and an honor to work alongside you and the rest of our Western Harvest Fleckvieh family.

2025 has certainly been a year to remember, marked by another round of record-setting cattle prices. It’s incredibly rewarding to see so many of our friends and family in the cattle industry being recognized and rewarded for the hard work and dedication they put in every single day.

This year’s sale looks a little different for me, as I’m only offering one bred heifer and no calves. Going forward, I’ve decided to keep back the heifer calves and instead bring forward our very best bred heifers. With that in mind, we went right to the top of the pen to select this year’s consignment, and we’re excited to share her with you.

From all of us at Madge Simmentals, we wish you a safe and successful harvest season. Tanner

Bombshell is by far the standout of our 2025 bred heifer pen. This female checks all the boxes from hoof to head—an exceptionally large-ribbed, sound-footed heifer that’s stamped with style and balance.

Her dam was a $20,000 purchase from Blackgold Simmentals in their 2023 Evolution Female Sale, and she has lived up to every expectation. That young cow has already proven herself on her first two calves and in the flush pen, and 51M is a true reflection of her quality and future potential. The depth of rib, maternal presence, and correct build in this heifer make her a cornerstone female in the making.

She comes bred to BEE Leonardo 206M, the calving-ease herd sire we acquired from Beechinor Bros this spring. Whether your goal is to build a new heifer bull prospect or establish a rock-solid cow family, the resulting calf promises to be something special.

Service Details:

• Bred to BEE Leonardo 206M

• Exposed: March 19 – May 15, 2025

• Confirmed bred first cycle

• Due: December 29, 2025 – January 19, 2026

BLACK GOLD MS BOMBSHELL 61K Dam of Lot 68

We’ve all toured other people’s cow herds and found ourselves stopped in our tracks by that one unforgettable female. That was exactly my experience the first time I laid eyes on Galicia nearly six years ago. A standout in the JB herd, she immediately struck me as one of the most complete cows I’d ever seen—powerful, deep-bodied, and structurally sound with undeniable presence.

I had always told JB when the time was right that I’d like to purchase Galicia, when that day came I didn’t hesitate to agree to purchase her. Finding a cow of her age in such remarkable condition, with the depth, completeness, and maternal strength she possesses, made it clear she needed to come east. We knew from day one she had the makings of an elite donor—and she has exceeded every expectation.

Over the past year, we’ve flushed her multiple ways with outstanding success. Now, we’re excited to share her influence and offer a few embryo packages. This is a rare opportunity to access the genetics of a proven female who checks every box and continues to impress with her production. Don’t miss the chance to bring this kind of maternal power into your program.
