Holy smokes, folks! The beef business is unlike anything we’ve ever seen! 2025 is setting itself up to be the most successful Bet on Red Sale we’ve ever had. The Western States Red Angus Association Board of Directors has worked incredibly hard over the last year to ensure that this is an event that none of us will soon forget. They have implemented so many amazing additions to our week in Reno. If there’s any year I could encourage you all to make the trip to Reno, Nevada, this would definitely be the year.
It is a true privilege to have the opportunity to work with the best Red Angus breeders in the country, in helping to execute the Bet on Red Sale. A genuine highlight of my year is the chance to visit with each and every one of you; to get to know your families, programs, and goals a bit better and talk about the exciting future ahead.
We are so blessed to be a part of a breed that is experiencing positive and rampant growth. The demand for Red Angus cattle is stronger than it has ever been. Cattle prices are experiencing positive movement, and the future looks bright in the cattle markets for the next few years. There may be no better time to find that up-and-coming donor or acquire a few breed-leading replacements to strengthen the herd and provide high quality bulls to market over the next few years.
With herd visits complete, I can without a doubt say this year’s Bet on Red will prove to be the best event to date. I am humbled by the willingness of so many long-standing, reputable ranches to consign their very best replacement females to the auction block in Reno. Top quality cattle come from top quality breeders, and I would challenge you to find a better set of cattle, embryos, and semen anywhere in the country. This catalog is packed full of some of the best Red Angus cattle you can find. We welcome all to a weekend packed full of great people, and breed-leading Red Angus cattle.
If you are unable to join us in Reno, please plan on tuning into DV Auctions & Livestock Market for the Bet On Red Sale. If you need any additional information or assistance prior to the auction, be sure to contact myself, Garrett Knebel, or any of the other representatives that will be there sale day. Arrangements can be made with consignors to assist in delivering the cattle, or there will also be capable truckers that can be contacted to help get them home to you.
For those of you able to attend, we are looking forward to an incredible event in Reno!
With Sincere Appreciation,
- Garrett Knebel

We are proud and honored to be donating Clark Mattie 2211-2515 to the 2025 Bet on Red. She is right from the top of this year’s calf crop and is one of our first Cadillac calves. PIE Cadillac 3289 is the hot up and coming sire at Select Sires and we are really excited about what we are seeing in his calves. They have a fantastic maternal look, great performance, and unmatched consistency, which we feel is extremely important. 2515’s dam is an exceptional young Resource 137E daughter that is performing above our expectations. She stems from our Mattie cow family that has produced many great herd sires and top females alike. 2515 has all the pieces to make a great cow that can have a tremendous impact in anyone’s herd. We are excited for her new owners and GOOD LUCK to everyone!

We believe this one is the real deal. Rarely do you find this kind of look combined with all three indexes in the top third of the breed. 515N has the looks to win on the halter and the growth and carcass genetics to generate real dollars in the donor pen. Her dam weaned off a phenomenal 1,000 lb bull calf last year and has earned her donor status many times over. We used Locomotion last year for his unmatched phenotype and elite HPG, carcass, and growth numbers, and he has not disappointed. Cameo 515N follows suit with a huge foot, ideal hind leg structure, and all the power, body, and rib you could ask for, capped off with a striking front and commanding presence. Simply put, she may be the best female we’ve ever raised, offering unrivaled genetic potential. Selling with two flushes retained at buyer’s convenience and our expense.
Lot 1
One of the best heifers we’ve ever raised! Blockana 2213-2511 is a fancy daughter of Solid State 3602. She really puts it all together with her look, pedigree and EPD profile. 2213 stems from the storied Blockana cow family and has many great female-making sires in her pedigree—Hard Drive, Hobo 0545, Definitive and Coach. Her dam is a young Definitive cow that is checking all the boxes. Our Definitive daughters continue to be some of our most consistent and productive cows. This heifer’s sire, Feddes Solid Sate 3602, is an exciting young bull we AI’d to heavily last year and we are very pleased with the results. His calves have really risen to the top over the summer with their performance and were some of our heaviest weaning calves this fall. This heifer has all the pieces to make a really great impact in someone’s program.

6R MISS HOBO 513N
Lot 3
Call 513N a turkey, because her dam, Miss Hobo 024H, has bowled three strikes…513N is her third calf in a row to sell in the Bet on Red. 024H is simply one of the most phenotypically ideal and striking females we’ve ever seen, and she keeps stamping them right This heifer is perfect for a young showman: smart, gentle, and a total natural in the ring. At 6R, we’ve been working hard for the better part of a decade to inject our cattle with real, profitable data to back their phenotype. After all, what good is a banner if the cow can’t pay her way in the real world? 513N is the culmination of that process…and we think it paid off! With this kind of look, and ProS and GM indexes in the top 20% of the breed, 513N is a straightforward value proposition for any program. Selling with two flushes retained at buyer’s convenience and our expense.

We’re thrilled to be headed back to the Bet on Red with our best heifer calf from this year, BARH Tarmily 557. One of the youngest heifers in this year’s offering, she’s a daughter of our tried-and-true herdsire, H/H Mount Up 0026 that has placed many heifers at backdrops across the U.S. This heifer goes back to the Damar Tarmily 016A cow family that is a mainstay in the Niobrara Red Angus program. Excellent maternal can be expected from this young female. If you’re looking to compete in a younger age division, this heifer is a great option. Sound in her structural build, beautiful fronted, and very correct in her design, we think this heifer has as much future as anything we’ve ever hauled to Reno.

508 is a heifer that hits all the marks in our herd with extra maternal traits, growth and carcass. She packs all of this into an extremely attractive package with added rib capacity, spring of rib, thick with muscle shape and a feminine front end. Her grandmother and great grandmother boast MPPAs of 105 and 114 respectively, this cow family just produces. He is adding extra growth without sacrificing attractiveness. With solid EPDs backing her, this heifer could work in anyone’s herd and stand out.
This is a heifer we do not want to let go of. We love the way she’s put together just the way we like, showing femininity with a deep rib, thick rear quarter, good feet and legs. We have been extremely excited and pleased with our PayDay progeny to date, and they continue to show more and more promise. Then you start examining her pedigree and, performance and EPDs and she knocks it out of the park. She is a daughter of Feddes Solid State who was a sale topper in 2024 to Cross Diamond. Top indexes and EPDS for maternal, growth and carcass make this heifer a hard one to pass up.

She’s halter broke and was a proud peewee project at the county fair, proving her gentle disposition and show-ring readiness. AI bred to Feddes Amsterdam on April 22, she’s poised to deliver even more genetic value. Whether you’re building a show string or stacking your cow herd with elite females, Hearts Asset 416 is the kind of investment that pays dividends. We’re proud to offer her—and we believe in her so strongly that we’re retaining a flush interest

Asset is knocking it out of the park for Sexson Brothers. This beautiful heifer is a quick pick for us with her sweet personality. Early in the summer she wanted to come in with the Bet on Red heifers for a quick bite of grain. Her pedigree is from the Sun River program that we love for their maternal kind and longevity. We are excited to offer the highest performing and most attractive Asset female of the 2025 calf crop. Her excellent body length and volume is only a compliment to her feminine front third. Juniors look for her to be BOR competitor and great cow prospect.

TJS BLOCKANA N001
C-T RED ROCK 5033 C-T REPUTATION 0094 C-T LINSEY 8119
Blockana N001 is a dark cherry red heifer with extra body and extension through her neck and front end, and she comes with a great set of balanced numbers. We purchased her dam from the DeBoer’s last fall with the hope of getting a heifer calf we could take to Reno… and here she is! Her sire, C-T Reputation 0094, has been one of the most sought-after sires in the breed the past few years, and rightfully so when he consistently sires progeny like this one. Her dam is a first-calf heifer sired by Bieber Stockmarket E119, one of the breed’s most used AI sires the past decade, and maternally she stems from the C-T Blockana 1042 cow that is one of DeBoer’s top donors, earning a 106 MPPA with a 106 AWR and 105 AYR on her 8 natural calves.
Waiting for the DNA results from this AI mating was like opening presents on Christmas morning. No matter what the original plan was, Miss. Nala 3N comes to you in a beautifully wrapped package. This gentle heifer is a dark red, with a bold rib shape and a sleek front end. Plus, her pedigree is a real treat to look over. Her mother is of the bull-making kind, and has done just that. In her ten years of life, she has only produced two females. She’s a powerfully made female with a beautiful udder. 3C’s first daughter has been kept back in my herd and in production. If this heifer wasn’t picked, she’d be going right to the replacement pen. Miss. Nala’s sire, Peacemaker is known to be calving ease. He was raised by the Rathmann family and is now owned by Griswold Cattle Company out of Stillwater, OK. The takeaway point is this unexpected mating worked solidly and don’t miss on this female.

MyMy 5303 will be extremely competitive as show heifers and pillar donor female for the future; with unique genetic opportunity. El Rey 102 show career has never been matched in the Red Angus breed, claiming Supreme Bull at Cattlemen’s Congress. If you’ve been to Western National Red Angus Show the last few years, the MyMy name will sound familiar as this cow family has been the cornerstone of our program. It all starts with the foundation cow, Damar MyMy D047, who claimed Grand Champion Female of the 2016 Red Western Classic show as a heifer calf and many more banners. Since then, MyMy’s have claimed numerous show ring titles, including 2021 Western National Reserve Champion Female in the Junior Show and Bred and Owned Champion Female, 2022 Western National Reserve Female and champion Cow/Calf Pair in the Open show and Grand Champion Bred and Owned Female in the Junior Show. Once again another MyMy, maternal sister to 5303, claimed 2024 Grand Champion Female at the Western National Red Angus Show. In addition MyMy 2312 was the 2023 High Selling Bet on Red heifer, who has been shown very successful by Zane Downey, taking home several banners and buckles. She returned to the 2024 Futurity and claimed reserve champion Futurity Female.
We’re pretty confident that Baneberry 5336 was born to be a show heifer for a junior member with her easy-going temperament and stunning profile! Her full sister (Strawberry) sold last year to Odessa Malson from Parma, Idaho and will be competing in the Futurity this 2025 year. 5336 has a great hind leg set, long body and smooth long hip through her elegant front end; she even holds her head like she’s in the show ring! On top of how she looks, she has the pedigree to be a cow when her show career is over being that she stems from infamous Soo Line Baneberry cow family, now a potent donor for Niobrara. She is out of our Herdsire, SYR High Plains 9603G, who was the lead off bull in the Smoky Y 2021 Sale. High Plains offspring are very familiar with the backdrop, WB MyMy 2225 claimed 2024 Grand Champion Female at the Western National Red Angus Show.
Baneberry 5326 is sired by STRA Relentless, he was the 2022 high-selling Red Angus bull in ST Genetics lineup and lands at the top for HB, ProS, GM, Marbling, and Stayability. Semen is very limited and if available, is selling for thousands a straw. She is a high-performance heifer that puts everything together in a sound made, massive muscle shape with a up headed feminine front end package. Don’t miss your opportunity on this show heifer for being highly competitive in the PGS Show.
