Post Rock Cattle Company Cowman's Kind Bull and Female Sale

Page 1

POST ROCK CATTLE COMPANY

Dear Fellow Cattle Producers:

Welcome to this year’s edition of the Cowman’s Kind Bull and Female Sale. 2025 will be remembered at Post Rock as the year of cattle prices being difficult to comprehend with $5000+ butcher bulls, $3000+ 8-weight steers and $700+ profits on feedlot close outs. I won’t insult you and tell you the cattle business is really good but it is truly wonderful to see and hear from so many customers who are being rewarded like never before for extra pounds and extra quality. My congratulations to all. It appears that there is nothing on the horizon to make you think it shouldn’t continue.

2025 will also be remembered as some of the craziest weather we’ve ever seen. In January we had a 17 inch snow (one of the biggest in my lifetime) then in September we had in the local area 10-13 inches of rain in one morning; literally, one half of our normal year’s precipitation in 6 hours. I really hope we never see either one of those again.

We are thrilled to have won 7 more banners in the AGF Scale and Rail Contest and are especially happy that our resident herdsire, High Life, added a Reserve Champion Sire Group winner to his resume. This makes a total of 7 Post Rock owned sires to have either been Grand or Reserve Champion winners in the sire group award of the AGF Contest. We are proud that our program has won a record, by a substantial margin, of 33 banners in the American Gelbvieh Foundation Scale and Rail contest.

The National Western Stock Show in Denver couldn’t have gone much better for us this year. Our Balancer Pen of 5 bulls were named Grand Champion and our Purebred Pen of 3 bulls earned Reserve Champion Purebreds. Most satisfying was the steady traffic in the yards visiting with friends and old customers and meeting new cattlemen as well. My thanks and congratulations to Kyle, Will, and crew. They did a phenomenal job of getting the work done before, during and at home during the show to make it possible.

Informed buying decisions become more and more important every day. Every bull selling will have current GENOMIC ENHANCED EPDs. Every bull has been DNA tested or known by birthright to be homozygous polled or homozygous black. In addition, every bull selling has been DNA sire verified, and any bull that had potential to have any known genetic defects from Angus has been DNA tested free. Finally, every bull selling has been ultrasounded for ribeye area (REA) and intramuscular fat (IMF, marbling) to aid in your sire selections. DNA testing and ultrasound collection are a major expense of both money and time, but we feel they are necessary to positively impact buyers’ decisions and profitability while giving us future insight into genetic matings.

This year’s sale offering is extremely strong. The bulls are a tremendous group and are loaded from top to bottom in the Purebred, Balancer and Angus divisions. We are offering many new AI sire groups to choose from, and some of our most proven genetics sell in volume sire groups. Many of the cows who produced this bull crop have multiple generations of AI and ET matings stacked to produce the highest quality herd sires available. Over 600 cows and many AI and ET matings were used to produce the bulls selling this year, and the sale offering reflects that level of culling and commitment. Additionally, we feel the 6-year-old and the 2-year-old females are an extremely strong group as well. Many of the elite, proven donors of the breed are the dams or the granddams of several females selling. We are proud of each and every bull and female selling, and each animal is expected to have a positive impact on their new owner’s herd.

As in the past, we have bulls from our cooperator herds: Meadowlark Gelbvieh, Dawson Creek Gelbvieh, Twin Oak Gelbvieh, and Stucky Beef Genetics. Our cooperator herds allow us to increase selection pressure placed on the bulls and make it possible for us to offer more and better bulls. We share in the income from these bulls, and they are represented and guaranteed just like our bulls. Should a problem arise, you will deal with Post Rock.

We hope to assist you in increasing your profitability, as our survival in the seedstock business is based on it. We have learned from experience that, unfortunately, we cannot spend enough time with each of you on sale day. We encourage you to call or visit at any time prior to the sale. We look forward to seeing you on February 28 at the sale.

Sincerely

Cowman’s Kind

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

TERMS

The terms of the sale are cash or check. Animals are to be paid for immediately following the sale and prior to load-out. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. We have made every effort to provide as complete and accurate information as possible. However, announcements from the auction stand will take precedence over information printed in the catalog.

BIDDING

Any disputes or challenges regarding bids shall be settled by the auctioneer, and his decision shall be final. Mail or telephone bids will be handled with strictest of confidence.

VOLUME DISCOUNT

For BULLS only, if a single buyer purchases 5 to 9 bulls they will receive a 5% discount on the check out price. A single buyer purchasing 10 bulls or more, will receive a 10% discount.

SEMEN CHECK AND GUARANTEE

Each bull is guaranteed to settle healthy, fertile females and has been semen tested. Should any bull be claimed a non-breeder, the recommendation of the American Gelbvieh Association will apply. However, this does not preclude us from making adjustments that are mutually beneficial to both parties.

FIRST BREEDING SEASON GUARANTEE

If any bull purchased in the Cowman’s Kind Sale or privately from Post Rock is disabled during the first 90 days following the first turn out of a new bull, the following guarantee will apply. The end of the breeding season guarantee shall be September 1 and Post Rock needs to be notified by that date for the warranty to apply. This is not an insurance policy, if a bull develops a problem, proper treatment, and if necessary, vet care is advised. If you breed out of season, please notify us in advance and we will be happy to adjust to fit your needs.

If your new bull is temporarily unable to complete the breeding season, if possible Post Rock will provide you with a loaner bull without cost to you other than transportation of the bull from and back to Post Rock. If your bull becomes permanently disabled, Post Rock will allow full credit ($7,500 maximum) toward the purchase of one bull in the next Post Rock sale. Post Rock will receive the salvage value of the injured bull. Should the bull you purchased cost more than your credit, you pay the difference. If he costs less, no further credit is due to you. Credit or liability can never exceed the purchase price ($7,500 maximum). We strongly encourage buying insurance on bulls bought for more than $7,500. Loss of use and livestock mortality insurance will be available sale day at the clerks table. The above warranty is for bulls used in a single sire breeding pasture. If two or more bulls are used in a breeding pasture the warranty is reduced to 50% of the initial purchase cost.

MORTALITY INSURANCE

Insurance will be available on sale day at the rate of 4.63% of the purchase price for 6 months or 7% for 1 year of coverage. Other rates apply for longer or shorter insured periods. Inquire at the clerks’ table.

LIABILITY

All persons attending the Cowman’s Kind Sale do so at their own risk. The sale sponsors, sale manager and/or any other seller assumes no liability for accidents, theft or damages done during this event on site of Post Rock Cattle Company.

Please make arrangements to pickup all female lots within one week of the sale date. If you want Post Rock to deliver female lots, delivery prices will apply. Option 2 - We will care for your bulls free of charge but at the purchaser’s risk and you pick them up anytime prior to May 1. Bulls remaining at Post Rock after May 1 will be charged $4 per head per day.

Option 3 - We will deliver bulls free of charge up to 300 miles with additional miles prorated per head and that cost will not exceed $350 per lot. Purchases totaling $20,000 or more will be delivered free of charge to an individual ranch or to a central location within your state on group purchases. For animals that we deliver you are encouraged to purchase individual animal insurance that will be available sale day at the rate of 4% of the purchase price for 6 months coverage. Other rates apply for longer or shorter insured periods. Inquire at the clerks table.

SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES

If you are unable to attend the sale, a bull can be purchased for you on order during the auction. Please call either Leland Clark, Kyle Cavalli or Will Johnson in advance of the sale and discuss with us the price range and the type of bull you are looking for, and we will recommend the bull or bulls that will fit your needs. If you don’t like the bull when he is delivered to your place, he’s not yours; and the money paid will be refunded. If the bull can be purchased for less than your maximum bid, you get the bull for the amount he left the ring at, just as if you were bidding for yourself. Each year, breeders take advantage of this free service. Call if you would like more information or a reference. For sight unseen satisfaction guarantees, you must purchase an animal that either Leland Clark, Kyle Cavalli or Will Johnson have previously recommended that fit your needs.

TRICH TESTING

Many states have new rules for Trich testing and none of the sale bulls have been tested. Should a Trich test be required Post Rock will pay the costs involved and complete the testing requirements soon following the sale.

TELE-AUCTION AVAILABLE

Post Rock is located in a very poor cell phone reception area and we encourage you to utilize this service. If you will be unable to attend the sale, you can do your own bidding via a conference telephone hook up that will connect you to ringside for the sale. You will be able to listen to the sale in progress, talk directly to our ringside representative and bid. Buyers interested in the option should call the office prior to sale day at 785-792-6244. You will be given the phone number and pass code to join the tele-auction and assigned a bidder number with which to do your bidding. Your only cost will be your normal long distance charges, charged by your long distance carrier. This would work well if you have looked at the sale offering prior to sale day and for sight unseen purchases.

ABOUT THE SALE CATTLE

FALL BULLS

The fall bulls were weaned May 15, 2025 after being raised on their dams on milo stocks or native pasture with sorghum silage, DDG, and ammoniated wheat straw and received no creep feed. After weaning, the bulls were raised on a rotational grazing system on sedan grass and were hand fed 8 pounds of growing ration per day. Late September, they were switched to a ration of silage, wet distillers, 1 lb. of corn per 100 lbs. of body weight, ammoniated wheat straw, and grinding-quality alfalfa hay.

SPRING BULLS

Spring bulls were raised on their dams on native pasture and received no creep. They were weaned September 2, 2025 and placed on a gain test for 100 days on a ration of sorghum silage, wet distillers, 1 lb. of corn per 100 lbs. of body weight, ammoniated wheat straw, grinding quality alfalfa hay, and a vitamin mineral pack on a ration designed for 3.25 pounds of gain per day.

ULTRASOUND

All bulls selling were ultrasound-measured on January 15, 2026. The spring bulls were ratio’d in as large of contemporary groups as possible for the purebred and balancer groups. However, bulls from time to time were not in a contemporary group and therefore don’t have a ratio - only an actual measurement. This data was collected by a CUP certified technician, and all data was submitted to the AGA. The fall bulls were too old for data submission, and all data is actual measurements collected by the same certified technician but was a chute side reading only.

The fall purebred and Balancer group were ratio’d against each other. This would include ET bulls and all bulls from all cooperators as they have all been handled the same for over 6 months. As with all raw data, comparisons must be made only within and not between contemporary groups. As an example: compare only spring Balancers to spring Balancers and spring purebreds to spring purebreds. You’ll notice a large difference between the fall bulls data and the spring bull data even though many of the same sires are represented in both groups. This was due to the way the bulls were developed and the timing of the ultrasound measurements. Most of the fall bulls were over 365 days old and were adjusted back with

ULTRASOUND

(continued)

decreased rib eye size considerably while the spring bulls were more typically measured at 11 months of age with a small adjustment up to 1 year of age. If you’ve followed our program you’ll realize in the past 5 to 7 years we have greatly increased our selection pressure on marbling both from an EPD sire selection standpoint as well as actual measurements. You’ll find many bulls with top 10 to 25% marbling genetics with the data to back it up without sacrificing our 30 plus year goal of “Where calving ease, performance and eye appeal come together!”

SALE COWS

As in the past, our sale group of females includes all our sound six year olds and approximately 10 two year old heifers, most with calves as side. This year’s sale group is really strong and includes more top-end cows and is from top to bottom our strongest, most consistent group to date. In addition, there are more cows that every ranch needs more of. Cows that get bred every year, bring in a calf in the top half of their contemporary group and have high quality udders and the added look and eye appeal we demand.

The two year old sale heifers are selected as a cross-section of our two year olds. Any cow that has at least two daughters in the herd that has an additional daughter is available as a sale heifer as well as any heifer that we have a large number of from their cow family and sire group. These two year olds are handled exactly like the heifers we retained and haven’t received any additional supplementation to fatten them up for the sale. We feed no grain to our heifers after weaning - only ammoniated wheat straw, sorghum silage, wet distillers, and grinding quality alfalfa hay.

All females bred or exposed greater than 100 days have been pregnancy checked and expected to calve consistent with their respective breeding dates or pasture exposure listed in the catalog. The fall calving cows selling with a calf at side have been pasture exposed since calving but sell only as exposed but not guaranteed safe in calf.

DEFINITIONS FOR DATA IN SALE BOOK

INFORMATION ABOUT THE BULLS

Our catalog contains a great deal of information, weights and measurement. To clarify the information, please remember that all Scrotal Measurements are actual measurements. Birth Weights are actual weights taken at birth. Weaning and Yearling weights are adjust to 205 days and 365 days, respectively.

WW = Adjusted Weaning Weight

YW = Adjusted Yearling Weight

REA = Ultrasound Rib Eye Area, adjusted or actual as noted

= EPD for Marbling

= Feeder Profit Index

Maternal Profit Index (MPI): In this production scenario, Gelbvieh bulls are mated to Angus-based cows with surplus calves marketed at weaning, with replacement heifers retained from the calf crop. EPDs weighted in this index are Calving Ease Direct (CED) and Maternal (CEM), Weaning Weight (WW), Milk (MILK), Mature Weight (MWT), Dry Matter Intake (DMI), Stayability (STAY), and Heifer Pregnancy (HP). Mature weight is the primary driver and represents the significant cost of maintenance energy requirement in the cow-calf sector. Weaning Weight and Milk (expressed in pounds of calf weaning weight) represent the principal revenue stream. Stayability helps account for differences in replacement costs in the system and the effect of heifer retention on revenue streams. This index should be used by commercial cattlemen whose production scenario includes the traditional marketing of calves at weaning and replacement retention from the herd.

Feeder Profit Index (FPI): An economic selection index designed to aid producers in selecting sires whose progeny will perform in the feedlot and are sold on grade and yield. Well ranking sires for FPI have higher marbling and carcass weight than their contemporaries. As a terminal index, little emphasis is put on maternal traits such as stayability and calving ease. Total Profit Index (TPI): Combining replacement female retention from the herd with carcass endpoint for marketed surplus heifers and all steers, TPI balances both maternal and terminal selection criteria. Because of the challenges faced by commercial cattlemen by the antagonisms in selection for this production scenario, TPI includes the largest and most diverse set of EPDs in the model, including carcass traits as the primary revenue drivers with cow Mature Weight (MWT), Stayability (STAY) and Dry Matter Intake (DMI) as cost drivers.

Introducing Post Rock Plainsman 115N8. Plainsman was a crowd favorite at Denver as a member of our Champion Balancer Pen of 5. He was admired for his eye appeal, fleshing ability and muscle shape and mass not typical of most calving ease bulls. Couple this with his elite genetic profile and you start to see why Plainsman will be utilized on the vast majority of our heifers as well as in our ET program. Plainsman is as maternally focused as they come. Sired by Ellingson Badlands who has a reputation of producing sale-topping bulls and mouth watering females. Throw in his highly proven donor dam, Queen Bee who has produced several elite sons both purebred and balancer by several sires in this year’s sale group and you realize he is designed by predictability, not by chance. For the betterment of the breed we have decided to sell semen packages. He will not be here sale day as he is at the Nebraska Bull Service in McCook NE, if you’d like to view him. He was ultrasounded twice in less than a week’s time with very similar results.

10 Things to Know About the Bulls Selling

1. All bulls selling have Genomic Enhanced EPDs, are sire verified, and tested for Homo Black and Homo Polled if not known by birthright.

No guessing, no cherry picking the feature bulls. The best info to help you make the best informed buying decision regardless of your bull budget.

2. The majority of the dams of the bulls selling have Genomic Enhanced EPDs as well as are sire verified. Less mistakes and more accuracy of pedigrees and more proof of their true genetic potential.

3. All bulls selling whether by AI or natural service are sired by bulls which have 100K Genomic Enhanced EPDs. Why settle for less.

4. All bulls selling have passed a veterinary performed Breeding Soundness Exam and are ready to breed cows on sale day if needed. They are either studs or duds and won’t sell if they didn’t pass a BSE prior to the sale. Eliminates the worries if your new bull will happen to pass a BSE at a later date.

5. All bulls selling have had a preventative pink eye and footrot vaccination shot prior to 3 months and have been boosted at preweaning, at the start of the bull development phase at 8 months and at semen checking prior to the sale. All spring bulls have had 4 pinkeye and footrot shots and fall bulls have had 5 pinkeye and footrot shots by sale day. No guarantees, but we’ve made every attempt to minimize your risk with your new purchase.

6. Complete and total whole herd health program. We work closely with our veterinarian and have one of the most complete and comprehensive herd vaccination programs. Our protocols include only single use syringes and no vaccination guns, thus eliminating spread amongst herd mates. Extra work and expense for us. Extra security for you.

7. All calves are double IDed at birth. When taking actual birth weights, all calves receive their herd tag that includes their own number, their dam’s number and an EID tag which is scanned with an EID reader everytime a weight or measurement is taken going forward. Less mistakes and more accuracy for less chance for human error.

8. The best disposition sort anywhere. Bulls are regularly walked through and handled slow and steady. At the start of the bull development phase, bulls are sorted between two handlers and are expected to remain calm. No excuses.

9. All bulls are given a rumen magnet at semen check. All our feed equipment has magnets as well and they are regularly cleaned.

10. The customer is always right. We attempt to do everything we can to eliminate risk and increase accuracy of information, however if there is a problem let us know. Customer service and customer satisfaction have kept us in the seedstock business for over 60 years.

American Gelbvieh Association EPDs and Economic Indexes

Calving Ease Direct (CED): Percent of unassisted births of a bull’s calves when he is used on heifers. A higher number is favorable, meaning better calving ease. This EPD can be vital to a rancher looking to decrease the amount of calves pulled in his herd.

Milk (Milk): The genetic ability of a sire’s daughters to produce milk expressed in pounds of weaning weight.

Calving Ease Maternal (CEM): Represented as percent of unassisted births in a sire’s first-calving daughters. A higher number represents more favorable calving ease. This EPD is important to a rancher’s bottom line because it predicts which animals produce daughters with a genetic pre-disposition to calve unassisted as heifers.

Heifer Pregnancy (HP): Predicts the probability that a bull’s daughters will become pregnant as first-calf heifers in a regular breeding season, expressed as a percent. A higher value of this EPD is favorable, meaning that a higher percentage of a sire’s daughters get pregnant as first calf heifers compared to other sires in his contemporary group.

30-month Pregnancy (Pg30): Predicts the probability that a bull’s daughters will become pregnant and calve at three years of age, given that they calved as first-calf heifers. This EPD is expressed as a percent, again, with a higher number being more favorable meaning a higher percentage of a sire’s daughters will calve at three years of age, given they calved as first-calf heifers.

Stayability (STAY): Predicts the genetic difference, in terms of percent probability, that a bull’s daughters will stay productive within a herd to at least six year of age. The stayability EPD is one of the best measures currently available to compare a bull’s ability to produce females with reproductive longevity.

Docility (DOC): Is reported as a percentage, with higher numbers indicating a higher percent of offspring receiving a disposition score of 1 (docile).

Scrotal Circumference (SC): Predicts the difference, in centimeters, of scrotal circumference of an animal’s male offspring at yearling compared to the SC of other animals’ male offspring.

Birth Weight (BW): Predicts the difference, in pounds, for birth weight of the calf.

Weaning Weight (WW): Predicts the difference, in pounds, for weaning weight (adjusted to age of dam and a standard 205 days of age). This is an indicator of growth from birth to weaning.

Yearling weight (YW): Predicts the expected difference, in pounds, for yearling weight (adjusted to a standard 365 days of age). This is an indicator of growth from birth to yearling.

Mature Weight (MWT): Body weight of cows adjusted to six years of age at body condition score 5. MWT is reported in pounds and is computed from a genetic model that leverages information from weaning weight, post-weaning gain, and mature weights of cows. Reported weights are adjusted for both age at observation and for body condition. Body weights of cows 2 to 12 years of age are utilized in the evaluation.

Cow Energy Requirement-Yearly (CERY): Mature body weight, lactation potential and birth weight are primary predictors of energy requirements. Mature Weight, Milk and Birth Weight EPD are utilized to inform prediction equations from beef cow nutrition research to estimate differences in energy requirement over a production year. The CERY EPD is reported in pounds of Total Digestable Nutrients (TDN) required for an age 6 cow.

Yield Grade (YG): Differences in yield grade score, which is a predictor of percent retail product. Smaller values suggest that progeny will have a better lean to fat ratio.

Carcass Weight (CW): Differences in pounds of hot carcass weight, adjusted to an industry standard age endpoint.

Ribeye area (CREA): Differences in ribeye area in inches between the 12th and 13th rib. Greater ribeye areas are preferable.

Marbling (MARB): Predicts the differences in the degree of marbling within the ribeye as expressed in marbling score units. Greater marbling numbers are preferable and are an indicator of higher carcass quality grades.

Fat (CFAT): Differences for fat thickness, in inches, for a carcass over the 12th rib, smaller numbers of fat thickness are preferable as excess fat can be detrimental to yield grade.

Dry Matter Intake (DMI): The genetic difference in pounds of expected average daily dry matter intake of progeny.

$GAIN: Reports the difference in expected marginal value of gain less the cost of feed to achieve that gain. Reported in dollars of marginal profit with more positive values representing increased efficiency and profit.

Feeder Profit Index™ (FPI™): Envisioned as a completely terminal index, FPI assumes all calves are marketed as finished beef carcasses priced on a value-based grid. Thus, it shouldn’t be used in production scenarios where replacements are kept from these matings. The new FPI formulation more precisely weights Economically Relevant Traits (ERTs) available for selection, including the key carcass traits of Carcass Weight (CW), Ribeye Area (REA), and Dry Matter Intake (DMI) that were not included in the original formulation. The new FPI also weights Fat Thickness (CFAT), post-weaning Average Daily Gain (ADG), and Calving Ease Direct (CED). Carcass value determined by carcass weight, quality, and yield grade influencing traits accounts for approximately 75% of the index as principal revenue drivers. Dry Matter Intake (DMI) captures differences in expected costs to the terminal carcass endpoint.

He has incredible progeny ratios of 97 BW, 104 WW with his initial 7 progeny ultrasound data processed at Cuplab posting an average of 14.93 Actual REA with a 101 ratio, 131 IMF (marbling) and 101 fat thickness ratios. His sire is the popular Angus AI sire, DB Iconic G95. He’s equally impressive to the eye with great substance, mass, muscle, and simple herd bull presence. He’s a man of a bull in any cowman’s eye. He’s being used ET and AI to more cows than any other bull at Post Rock and we are not selling semen on him. His sons selling include some outstanding herdsire prospects and are the only way to access his genetics.

Post Rock Clock Work 164L8 was our popular 2024 Balancer Futurity Champion. He’s pictured at 22 months after seeing heavy use in the breeding pastures. He is a true product of our breeding program as his sire and maternal grandsire are both walking sires at Post Rock and important AI sires for the breed. He represents the core strengths and focus of our breeding program; maternal excellence combined with calving ease, performance, eye appeal, and documented carcass merit. Both his sire and maternal grandsire were recognized as the Reserve Champion sire group winner in 2024 and Grand Champion sire group winner in 2022 respectively, in the American Gelbvieh Foundation Scale and Rail Contest. His donor dam was our high selling female in 2024 to Mark Crane of Black Gold Genetics and is a truly exceptional female in the Balancer breed.

Preference has proven he can consistently provide calving ease with the best of all beef bulls regardless of the breed with the added advantage of more mass, muscle and pounds. His dam is a true breed standout and this Baldridge Alternative son is just starting to make his mark. Owned with Twin Oak Gelbvieh. We drove 100’s of miles and looked at 100’s of bulls searching for an outcross Balancer bull to add to our program. CTR Money 0826H was the bull we selected after our travels. We love this bull for his soundness and completeness. You simply can’t pick a hole in him. We were really impressed with the entire Money sire group at Cedar Top and he was part of a standout 9 head flush group that had at least 3 big time herd bull prospects in it. For our program we felt he was the top pick of the group and are excited about this young herd sire’s potential.

There’s simply no denying his progeny are extra soggy with muscle and pounds and are incredibly easy calving with added eye appeal to boot. He is a legitimate curve bender and will be a mainstay in our program for many years to come and should be a heavily used AI sire for years to come as well.

POST ROCK ICON

Post Rock Icon has pretty much hit it out of the park with his inaugural calf crop including the 2025 Denver National Champion Female. His sons are equally impressive in the flesh with a number of herd bull prospects again and elite replacement females. He was purchased as the high-selling purebred bull in our 2023 sale by Flying H Genetics in Nebraska. Simply stated, he’s a big-time breeding bull that needs to be on your must use AI purebred sire list. He’s got the pedigree strength that’s second to none and is a breed improver.

SIRE: TPG FRONTRUNNER 2510F DAM: POST ROCK WILMA 360D1

Black Box was a former purebred Breeder’s Choice Futurity Runner Up for us that we used back in our program with great success. His first calf crop was mostly heifers but his 2nd calf crop included some featured herdsire prospects and more first cut heifers for the replacement pen. He offers what we believe that a lot of the purebred population needs in terms of fleshing ability, carcass strength with performance and powerful muscular design.

With the success and interest the Big Andy bull created in the Eagle Pass dispersal we purchased this Homo Black Homo Polled purebred son to use on heifers without sacrificing performance or body depth and natural thickness. He has proven to do just that in our operation and his sons should do the same for you.

Stucky Beef Genetics purchased pasture rights and ¼ semen interest in FHG Flying H 80A/40A 079E “Dakota Red” on Jim Beastrom dispersal sale. Our experience has been that his performance EPDs are real, he has added length, width, and performance, but not at the cost of softness. He has an excellent disposition and passes it along to the majority of progeny. We have been told by people who have used him AI that his progeny marble as well as his MB EPD suggests. We have a lot of confidence in his progeny adding performance, and quality carcass traits.

DBRG MR DESPERADO 0085H

2/10/2020 DBRG 0085H

SIRE: FRANCHISE F806 DAM: MS FH GRANITE 863D

Desperado was used AI on many heifers with great success including purebred heifers here at Post Rock. He’s a complete outcross to most of the purebred population. He offers a unique combination of calving ease, performance, and carcass merit and has several sons selling that offer the same elite genetic package. The calving ease is real and he sires more pounds than most calving ease bulls.

ELLINGSON BADLANDS 0285

CED

Badlands is an Angus AI sire that we have used heavily with much success in both our Angus and Balancer program as any Angus sire since Payweight 1682. Ellingson Badlands has made a reputation of producing as many thick ended, powerfully built sale-topping sons and mouthwatering females while also being an ultra calving ease bull and used on many heifers across the country. Look these Badlands over. They are good and highly recommended. His daughters are awesome.
