Parry Angus 28th Annual Bull and Female Sale

Page 1

Dear Cattlemen,

Welcome to our 28th Annual Bull and Female Sale. We again say thank you to each and every one of you that helped make the year of 2025 a tremendous success. For those of you reading this that maybe didn’t buy a bull, but have chipped in or just showed up in support, please know that we value your friendship and you’re an important part of our team. We are very pleased to offer you what we believe is as good of a set of bulls as you can find almost anywhere. Raising Angus cattle is a passion for us and we feel blessed to be able to do this for a living.

A wise man once told me that “you are selling more than just a bull, you are selling a program”. He also mentioned that your catalog should tell the story of your program. So as you flip through this book, I hope that you take notice of the value that we place on the female side of the pedigree. We believe the Angus female is the foundational building block of any herd and she needs to be big ribbed, easy keeping, feminine, sound made and fertile. If she doesn’t calve on time, raise her calf and breed back, she isn’t very profitable. We have gone out and purchased some incredible, elite females that we see as the right “kind” to add to our own ranch raised donors that will serve as the base of our herd going forward. Bull selection is also done with the female in mind, trying to fill those seven slots in a three generation pedigree with as many excellent dams that are similar in type and kind as possible.

We are pleased to offer you this set of Angus and Sim-Angus bulls and heifers. We feel we have put together a solid offering of bulls that exhibit plenty of growth mixed with calving ease to meet any of our customer’s needs. There are some truly outstanding individuals in this group. Our goal is to make bulls that are profitable for our commercial customers. We are all in this business together, and your success is vital for ours. Feel free to talk to us any time if you have questions about the cattle. We will always answer any question honestly and to the best of our ability. Our customers are usually considered friends and we want to earn your trust, see you succeed and be profitable, and take care of you if any problems should arise. Please feel free to call or stop by the ranch at any time. We love the opportunity to take a break from work and talk cattle with good cattlemen and friends. We are so thankful for everyone who continues to support our program, and we always love to see new faces and meet new people. God Bless!

See you Sale Day,

Some Things Never Go Out Of Style

We wanted to take a minute to visit with you about some of our recent observations and plans for the program moving forward. Our goal is to produce seedstock that will keep our commercial customers out of the ditches and on the right track. We subscribe to the idea that the Angus breed’s dominance in the beef industry was built on the back of the efficient, maternal Angus cow.

With curiosity and the responsibility to both our family and our customers, we elected to take a more aggressive approach to our genetic selection of sires over the past three-four years, sampling some sires and genetic providers that have prioritized “outlier” genetics and trends. More specifically, we used some bulls with EPD profiles that stretched the envelope with breed leading growth and carcass traits. While we admit that one shot of these extreme traits did quickly move some things on paper, and without question added some advancements in certain areas, we also quickly noticed that with the advantages of some of these terminal traits came some sacrifices in structural integrity and maternal merit. While we have no regrets in our search for additional answers and potential genetic advancement, we also were reminded of staying grounded and committed to the process of producing seedstock genetics for the commercial cattlemen that are deeply anchored by the fundamentals that never go out of style, fertility, longevity, above average growth and carcass merit. We admit, you don’t have to look very far to find a competitor that will offer a bull with a more extreme set of figures. However, we don’t feel that a numbers race or selection of extreme traits is what best fits our needs, and most importantly, the needs of our friends and customers. I fully believe we better serve our commercial customers by producing functional, fault free cattle rather than producing individuals that might hit the top one percent of an arbitrary trait or EPD.

You will continue to see Parry Angus pursue the greatness of the efficient, maternal Angus female for years to come. Yes, some of our pedigrees will continue to reflect where we have gone for the past few years, but ultimately we have arrived back where we started almost thirty years ago.

Calving Ease

Next Level is just one of those unique individuals that puts everything together. He is a long bodied bull that walks out on a long fluid stride and sets down a beautiful foot. There is plenty of growth and thickness in him as well. He weaned off the cow at 839 pounds to earn a 112 ratio. His Dam is one of our favorite donors here and has impressive weaning and yearling ratios of 105 and 107. She is an exemplary female that is beautiful fronted and has lots of rib depth and power while being structurally flawless. Next Level is one of the first sons to sell by the $400,000 Spring Cove Grant.

These two flush brothers are like peas in a pod. Both are wide constructed, stout made bulls with loads of rib and depth. They set down a nice big foot with bone and substance. Their Dam, Isabel G886 is a powerful No Doubt donor that we purchased from Baldridge Performace Angus that stems back to the great Isabel Y69. Her progeny seem to be stamped with her additional performance and power. This was an excellent flush to the $400,000 Spring Cove Grant 200K and I am really hopeful for the full sisters to these two bulls that we are putting into our herd.

They are big footed, but more importantly, great footed. Their dam consistantly weans a large calf earning weaning and yearling ratios of 103 and 107. Lot 7 is pretty easy to notice in the pen. He is a big topped bull that has mass and muscle along with depth of rib and a soft look. His dam is quickly gaining admiration here for her femeninity, depth of rib and ability to transmit performance to her projeny. Her weaning and yearling ratios speak for themselves. Badlands was a great cross on this female as it doubled down on the power that she already brought and kept the soft, easy fleshing look that she has along with great feet.
