58th Annual Production Sale
March 5, 2026 - Kimball Livestock Auction - 1 p.m. cst

As our 58th annual bull sale comes around, it gives us time to pause and reflect. 2026 marks another year of progress toward our goal of producing and marketing quality livestock that have been developed through multi-trait selection. 2025 was full of family with Tina home on furlough for eight months, although it went by super fast! Miles and Kim enjoy filling their time taking in all of the grandkid activities from music performances to the gym, they are each of their grandkids number one fan! Miles is enjoying the opportunity to breed a few more horses each year and there doesn’t happen to be a shortage of indivduals that are willing to scratch and love on colts. Kevin and Katrin continue their busy schedule with Kylee, Kelli, and Cooper. Kevin actively helps with the local Farm Bureau organization and coaching youth wrestling. Katrin is heavily involved in South Dakota Cattlewomen’s Organization and homeschooling Kelli and Cooper. All three kids are involved in 4-H and youth sports as well as helping out on the ranch alongside their parents. They got a much deserved vacation to Turks and Caicos this fall. Wyatt and Zana added some more excitement this year with the adoption of Zeke Louis! Wyatt stays busy working for South Dakota FFA and Zana is learning about being a boy mom! Tina continues her work in Uganda teaching missionary children, learning the language and working with many on the mission field. Adam and Tara reside near Sioux Falls and are enjoying watching their children enter into grown up life! Their oldest, Lydia, got engaged on Christmas! Geneva, Levi, Anna, and Caleb are all thrilled and keep mom and dad busy with soccer, music and home school! 2026 is shaping up to be another eventful year full of God’s blessings. DeJong Ranch has been a family operation from its inception and continues to mold our values of faith and family into our cattle business.
Our bulls are designed to be ready to work in almost any condition as they have continually performed in the challenging terrain of south-central South Dakota. Hardiness and endurance have allowed us to produce bulls that are designed to work for many years.

In the 60 years of artificial insemination work coupled with 30 years of embryo transfer technology, DeJong Ranch has selected key breed traits to strive to produce and improve. We aim to provide quality stock that possess the ability to perform and make a profit. Livestock that convert to yield marketable pounds and be superior in terms of carcass merit has been a key goal. We hope you see our progress through our animals’ data and phenotype. We will share the results of scan data on our website leading up to the sale as well as have it available on March 5th. We are confident in the ability of these individuals to offer something for each producer. We hope that you will find the benefit of growth, carcass merit, maternal endurance, and calving vigor within these lots.
We were pleased to showcase the Reserve Champion pen of high percentage Maine-Anjou bulls at the National Western Stock Show this year. We enjoy getting to see our Maine-Anjou breeder friends on our trips and showcase our belief in what Maine-Anjou genetics can do on all sorts of cow-bases. The power and performance Maines can add to Angus based herds has proven to benefit offsprings ability to finish with a high grade and marbling. Females continue to wean large calves and offer longevity on sound feet and legs. We hope you can find some genetics within this offering to positively impact your own operation. It’s a great time to be a cattlemen!
DeJong Ranch stands behind the genetics and strives to develop bulls and females that will positively impact specific breed development and the cattle industry in general. We are very thankful for the people we have been privileged to meet and work with in the past and look forward to meeting in the future. We are fortunate and indebted to previous generations and the grace of God to be involved in production agriculture and believe there is no better place to raise families.

Terms and Conditions
All bulls are free of known genetic defects by test or parentage.
We are retaining an in-herd semen interest on all bulls at sellers’ expense and buyers’ convenience.
All bulls are guaranteed breeders.
The 18-month-old bulls are fertility tested. It will be the responsibility of the buyer to have the yearling bulls fertility tested before they are turned out with the cows or before 15 months of age. The seller reserves the privilege to prove a bull is a breeder. If the bull fails to prove a breeder, the seller will either replace the bull with another of equal quality or give credit to the buyer at the next sale less any salvage value of the bull. In the event that a bull becomes permanently injured or dies within the first breeding season, if notified promptly, the seller shall allow credit to the buyer or one half the purchase price toward another bull less any salvage value.
We are offering free delivery in South Dakota and Nebraska and will assist as we can to other states. It is the responsibility of the buyer to contact the seller to discuss delivery options. At the conclusion of the auction, all lots purchased in the auction become the legal property of their respective buyers. No animals will be delivered without payment or arrangements made in advance with the seller. Seller will keep the bulls at no charge for 10 days and $2.00/head/day after that. The DeJong Ranch is not liable for injuries occurring after the sale date. Arrangements for keeping the bulls longer may be made between buyer and seller and are the sole discretion of these two parties.
The bulls will be ultrasounded and weighed in February by Kama Bruns and sent to the National CUP Lab. The results will be available on our website as we receive them. Bulls that are too young or too old from the 365 day target will lack adjusted data.

-Looks good, papers great!

-This year we will again be offering groups of Registerable and some commercial open heifer groups. Groups will be determined closer to sale time but will range in size of 3 to 10 head of females.
Groups will be determined by pedigree similarity, age, and size to give the buyer a cohesive set of females that can be bred similar. All heifers will be between 7/8 and 1/8 Angus with the other genetic makeup being Maine-Anjou genetics and a small number with just a shot of Simmental.
We classify these heifers as our “middle cut”. These are open heifers similar to what we keep and build our own herd on. They are sired by our herd sires that have also sired many of the bulls within this years offering. You will see groups from GVC Culmination. His first daughters are just calving now and are proving to be exactly be what we were hoping for in terms of udder quality, milk production, and maternal prescence.
Many heifers can be registered as Maine or Maine-Angus pending the group. We are happy to register any of the heifers for $25 a head following the sale.
All heifers will be bangs vaccinated and on our current vaccination schedule for replacement heifers. They have been developed using a growing ration, and current weights will be available in addition to age information on sale day.

DJ Cat Duel is the long standing stud on the ranch. Many of our brood mares are sired by Cat. Standing at 14.2hh he is bred for reining and cutting. Many of Cat’s offspring are used on working ranches as well as in arenas.
