Welcome to our 6th Annual Online Bull and Female Sale. We’re extremely excited about the group of bulls and females we have to offer this year and feel there’s something here for everyone – from a solid set of yearling bulls, elite registered open females straight out of the top end of our replacement pen, commercial open heifers, along with a good selection of quality commercial and registered bred females.
We truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to look through our catalog and study our program. If you have any questions about the offering or would like to come view the cattle in person before sale day, don’t hesitate to give us a call – we’d love to visit with you, walk through the cattle, and show you the cows and program behind them.
A special thank you to all of our past bidders and buyers who make it possible for us to do what we enjoy most – raising good cattle. We’re especially grateful to be raising the next generation in this lifestyle, giving our kids the opportunity to learn lessons that can’t be taught in a classroom. Each of them started with an open heifer, and in this year’s offering you’ll see two bulls carrying the initials EK and WK for Emelea and Waylon. Izaac sold his heifer calf this past November at the Red’s on the Prairie Sale, and their goal is to buy a Ranger 110 side-by-side so they can help with chores and move cattle up from pasture.
We want to highlight that the bulls are cataloged by sire group first, then by birthdate, so be sure to check out all the bulls from front to back!
Again, thank you for your interest in our program, and we invite you to join us online March 21, 2026. We hope to see you then!
Sincerely,

Austin Klaphake

How they work:
This means that bidders will be able to preview the lots online with complete information, including their pedigree, EPDs and possibly a video, for several days prior to the sale. During that time, bidders can leave a maximum bid which the system will represent confidentially up to that amount. Bidders can also bid incrementally as the bid advances prior to the close.
All lots will close at the same time. Bidding will be extended if a bid is placed on any lot near the closing time. Bidding will officially close when there are no bids placed within a 5-minute period of time.

Sound feet and legs are something we never take lightly in our program. We are constantly evaluating how our cattle stand, how they travel, and how their feet hold up over time, because good foot structure directly impacts longevity and profitability.
We pay close attention to claw shape, heel depth, foot angle, and overall leg set. We do not trim feet– bulls need to work for a living, and should be sound structured and hold up without added labor or expense. Bulls with good feet are better equipped to cover pasture and breed cows year after year, and just as importantly, they pass those traits on.
Replacement daughters must be able to graze, stay sound, and raise calves without lameness or foot issues. Cows with poor feet often struggle to breed back, raise a quality calf, and ultimately leave the herd sooner than they should.
This foot structure reference chart is a tool we use to help evaluate structure. While perfect feet are always the goal, our focus is on cattle that are problem-free, functional, and built to last– because longevity and profitability go hand in hand.

A sound udder is a must in the cow-calf business, and it is something we place a high priority on in our program. Poor udders create extra work and often require helping calves get started nursing – something we simply don’t have time for. It is critical for a newborn calf to get up and nurse as soon as possible, and that cannot happen if a cow has an unsound udder or poorly sized teats. While udders cannot be seen in the bull pen, we strongly encourage you to tour our cow herd to see firsthand the udders behind these bulls. Bulls out of sound-uddered dams are far more likely to pass those traits on to their daughters, which is essential for long-term herd success. This udder suspension and teat size guideline is a handy reference we use at calving time to help evaluate udders in a consistent, practical way. While a perfect udder is always the goal, our focus is on cattle that are problem-free, functional, and built to last –because longevity and profitability go hand in hand. A bad udder will put a cow on the cull list in a hurry.

ProS – Profitability and Sustainability is an all-purpose index that predicts average economic differences in all segments in the beef supply chain. This index is a combination of the breeding objectives modeled in the HerdBuilder and GridMaster selection indexes. In this index, replacement heifers are retained from within the herd and all remaining progeny are fed out to slaughter and sold on a quality-based grid. Traits included in this index include CED, ADG, HPG, STAY, MW, DMI, CW, MARB, REA and Fat.
Index | Dollars per Head | Higher Value
HB – HerdBuilder is a maternal selection index that predicts the economic differences of animals for traits that are important from conception through weaning.
HB is calculated based on the scenario that bulls are mated to heifers and cows, replacement heifers are retained and all remaining progeny are marketed at weaning.
This index is a combination of CED, CEM, WW, Milk, MW, HPG and STAY.
Index | Dollars per Head | Higher Value
CED – Calving Ease Direct predicts differences in the percent of calves born unassisted out of 2-year-old dams.
Percent | Higher Value
BW – Birth Weight predicts differences in actual birth weight of progeny. Pounds | Lower Value
WW – Weaning Weight predicts differences in 205-day weaning weight. Pounds | Higher Value
YW – Yearling Weight predicts differences in 365-day yearling weight. Pounds | Higher Value
ADG – Average Daily Gain predicts differences in weight gain between 205 and 365 days of age. Pounds | Higher Value
DMI – Dry Matter Intake predicts differences in daily feed intake as measured in a feedlot during the post-weaning period.
Pounds | Lower Value
MILK – Milk predicts differences in weaning weight attributed to the milking ability of the animal’s daughters. Pounds | Higher Value
ME – Maintenance Energy predicts the difference in maintence energy requirements. Mcals per Month | Lower Value
HPG – Heifer Pregnancy predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to conceive and calve at 2 years of age following exposure to breeding. Percent | Higher Value

GM – GridMaster is a selection index that predicts the average economic difference of non-replacement calves through the post-weaning phase of production. GM places selection pressure on growth, feed yard performance and carcass traits.
GM is calculated based on the scenario that progeny are fed out to slaughter and marketed on a quality-based carcass grid. This index is a combination of ADG, CW, DMI, MARB, Fat and REA.
Index | Dollars per Head | Higher Value
CEM – Calving Ease Maternal predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to calve unassisted as 2-year-old heifers.
Percent | Higher Value
STAY – Stayability predicts differences in the ability of an animals’ retained daughters to remain productive in the herd – calve every year – through 6 years of age. Percent | Higher Value
MARB – Marbling predicts differences in marbling score – amount of intramuscular fat measured at the 13th rib.
Marbling Score Units | Higher Value
YG – Yield Grade predicts differences in USDA Yield Grade, which is calculated using CW, REA and Fat. Yield Grade Units | Lower Value
CW – Carcass Weight predicts differences in actual hot carcass weight.
Pounds | Higher Value
REA – Ribeye Area predicts differences in square inches of ribeye area measured at the 13th rib. Square Inches | Higher Value
FAT – Fat predicts differences in the depth of backfat measured between the 12th and 13th ribs. Inches | Lower Value

These yearling bulls are developed with durability, longevity, and athleticism in mind – built to cover more cows and hold up year after year, no matter the conditions. Rather than chasing extreme weights, we grow our bulls at a sensible rate to allow them to mature naturally and stay sound for the long haul.
The bulls were weighed on October 31st and again on February 5th to complete a 97-day feed test, during which the group averaged an impressive 3.3 lbs per day gain. Following the test, they were transitioned to a balanced ration to get them hardened up and ready to go to work for you.
From birth to sale day, every bull is evaluated for disposition, structural and breeding soundness, performance, and overall health. Any bull that does not meet our standards is culled. This year, nearly 50% of our bull calf crop was cut to ensure we offer only the most uniform and highest-quality set of bulls we’ve ever assembled. Great disposition is a must, especially with our kids involved in many day-to-day chores.
These bulls are not pushed; they are developed to work. While cattle can perform on many types of feed, what matters most is having bulls that stay sound, hold condition, and last. That’s where we take pride – raising bulls that get the job done year after year.
Foot quality is a major focus in our program. The depth of quality in this offering runs deep, with dark-colored feet and adequate heel depth designed to stand the test of time.
All yearling bulls are on a complete vaccination and health program. Bulls received Bovi-Shield Gold FP5 L5, Covexin 8, and were poured with ivermectin at branding on May 18th, preconditioning on August 15th, and at weaning on September 5th. A wart vaccine was administered on December 25th with a booster on January 11th.
Bulls are developed on a high-forage diet consisting of corn silage, earlage, dry corn, and the Hubbard Express Grower 40:22 MON 400 protein pellet, with free-choice dry hay. Ample space is provided to allow for exercise and maintain athleticism.
This offering is exceptionally consistent from top to bottom and represents the best group of bulls we have raised to date. These bulls reflect the kind of cattle we believe in – sound, functional, consistent, and built to work for the long haul. We encourage you to come view them in person anytime!

N509 is another strong Next Level son that is smooth made with calving ease and good performance cattlemen are after. He weaned off at 680 lbs. giving him a weaning ratio of 109! B115 was known for her sound feet, quality udder, and longevity, producing until 10 years of age. This is the kind of bull to build around: retain the females for the long haul and still raise a uniform, growthy set of feeder calves that will sort themselves at town in the fall.

N517 is a true cow bull built to sire productive, long-lasting females that will make an impact! A Next Level son with added growth, ranking at the top of the breed for WW, YW, & ADG. He’s out of another standout heifer-one of my favorite bred heifers to calve in 2025! Dahlke Working Class 231K was our pick in Dahlke’s 2023 sale for his extra length of spine, extended front 1/3, and ability to sire calves that push down the scale without adding unwanted frame, all out of a beautiful, hard-working Raindance cow. This is the second group of sons to sell out of him, and they continue to impress with extra length and scale. His first set of sons were very well received, including a Working Class son that was the high seller last year. What’s even more exciting is his daughters – they are coming in beautifully! The first ones calve this year, setting down excellent udders and displaying outstanding phenotype. 231K himself is structurally correct, very athletic, and has a great disposition. His dam, a Raindance daughter, is a proven donor in the Dahlke program and has produced multiple high-selling sons, including Dahlke Boomtown 338L. If you’re looking to add length and scale to your calf crop, be sure to check out these Working Class sons. Dahlke Rockefeller 009H was the high-selling bull in Dahlke’s 2021 Production Sale, selling to Nate and Semex Beef. While we weren’t able to purchase him on sale day, we knew we had to secure semen – and we’re sure glad we did. An untimely injury has made his semen virtually impossible to find, and when it does surface, it’s bringing up to $420/unit. Rockefeller 009H is built correctly from the ground up, standing on a solid black foot with a soft, deep-made body and plenty of chest floor. He sires excellent-footed cattle with a strong Angus skull and a dark red hide, and his sons continue to top sales in the Dahlke program. Spartan offers a moderate frame with extra body, depth, and natural thickness, while maintaining correct feet and sound leg structure. We’ve been very impressed with the progeny we’ve seen out of Spartan, which led us to confidently add him to our AI lineup.

N536 is Leczi’s calf and sports a black nose, which is funny because Leczi has always wanted a black-nosed cow and she ends up getting a bull with a black nose! But on a serious note, N536 is a true cow bull alert! He had the look from the start and caught a lot of people’s attention at our open house last year as a calf! This bull adds substance, muscle, and capacity with adequate bone and good foot structure! He was the top weaning weight bull of his contemporary group at 660 lbs, and ratio of 105 and he didn’t stop there as he gained 3.8 lbs on test and is the second highest weighing bull in the offering at 1185 on February 5th! His dam, 120G, has 5 calves to her credit and boost an impressive 361-day calving interval, 108 WW ratio, 107 REA ratio, and 106 MPPA! This cow consistently breeds up on time, calves unassisted, and weans the heaviest calf-a commercial producer’s dream! 120G is AI’d again for February 18th this year! If you want to bring a solid group of feeder calves to town, be sure to check out N536!

N511 is a dark cherry red Forefront son that has really turned it on after weaning! We feel he came in a little lighter at weaning time due to the lighter-milking recip he was on, he has since made up ground and is now turning heads! He offers a deep middle with plenty of spring of rib that translate into productive, long-lasting cows. His pedigree stacks proven maternal power, combining the Primrose cow family on the bottom side and the Laura cow family on the top! His full sister sells as Lot 23.

We were fortunate to acquire Red U-2 Syringa 71A in Niobrara’s Redefined Sale in the fall of 2023. She was one of the most exciting, proven, and visually impressive females to sell in the Red Angus breed that year. Syringa 71A takes femininity, udder quality, productivity, and overall style to another level. While at U-2, she raised the lead-off Reverence son that sold for $35,000 and has consistently produced high-quality progeny in the Niobrara program. With 36 registered calves to her name – and more yet to come – her production record speaks for itself. At 13 years of age, she still sports an exceptional, correct udder, stands on sound feet, and moves with ease. This summer we were able to successfully collect a strong set of embryos from her, and we’re extremely excited about her future at A&R Red Angus. This year’s offering includes two powerful sons out of 71A, big-boned, good-footed, and backed by a proven cow family. We are also offering one daughter, 528N –a decision that may require a head check – but we wanted to bring something truly special to the sale. She mirrors her dam in type and quality, and we believe she has a very bright future ahead.

LOT 16 –STRETCH, SHAPE, BONE & MUSCLE = POUNDS!

NCJ Coming In Hot 24E offers structural integrity and a maternal presence that is increasingly hard to find. He is a balanced-designed sire with added muscle shape, stout features, and a level, sound build. Clean fronted yet deep bodied, 24E combines power and mass with eye appeal. His calves consistently show tremendous quality, style, body volume, fleshing ease, and soundness – a rare and valuable combination. We utilized Coming In Hot in our ET program on Syringa, and this is the only progeny from that mating, but it is certainly a good one.

N521 is our first Red U2 Syringa 71A son to sell. He offers an outcross pedigree and brings the mass, width, muscle, depth, stretch, and bone that is hard to miss! N521 has been especially impressive after weaning, gaining 3.8 lbs per day, placing him among the top growth bulls in the offering. He combines that performance with good foot and leg structure. He’s out of the beautiful 71A, who at 12 years of age set down a near-perfect udder last spring and stands on a sound set of feet! While at the donor facility, the owner commented that 71A was the best-footed Red Angus female he has seen there. Be sure to check out the reference page on 71A to learn more about her and the impact she has had on the breed! If you’re looking to add size to your calf crop and top the sale, make sure to study these two 71A sons!

After studying several options, spending time at Twedt’s, and visiting with Sam, it became clear that Bieber Driven C540 was that kind of bull. Driven has served as Twedt’s senior herd sire for many years and seeing him in person at 10 years old – still sound, impressive, and functional – said a lot. His daughters continue to impress, with many producing top-selling bulls in the Twedt program, and they rank among the very best-uddered females in their herd. LORENZEN WARRANT 8273

We came across Lorenzen Warrant 8273 while touring Koester Red Angus’ operation and were immediately drawn to his foot quality, length of body, deep middle, and impressive muscle expression. He offers a tremendous birth-to-yearling spread while maintaining strong carcass qualities, blending performance with structural correctness and balance.

One of the longest, most impressive bulls in the offering, N519 would be at the front of the sale if order mattered, but we catalog by sire group and birthdate! He is out of a Bieber Stockmarket daughter with tons of length, good feet and an excellent udder! N519 presents himself proudly, he is a very athletic bull that moves effortlessly, ready to cover cows over any country! He was a standout on the feed test, being at the top gaining 4.4 lbs per day, and ranks in the top 1% of the breed for ProS, GM, HPG, and Marb. N519 also posts the top adjusted yearling weight at 1,235 lbs, making him a bull built to add length and performance to your calf crop! McCann Mega 3021 was our pick from the McCann Red Angus 2024 Sale as a heifer bull prospect. He is a son of Crump Mega 8849 and stems from the highly regarded Amber cow family. DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY
Our open heifers are developed with the same mindset as our bulls – longevity, functionality, and real-world performance. We focus on raising females that will breed up, stay in the herd, and remain profitable for years to come.
NUTRITION & MANAGEMENT
These heifers are developed on a 38 NEg ration consisting of corn silage, earlage, corn, mineral, and free-choice hay. They are intentionally kept on the greener side, allowing them to grow and mature naturally rather than being pushed for short-term appearance.
The open heifers are managed right alongside our replacement females. They are not given special treatment or fed to look good for sale day. What you see is what you get – honest, functional cattle developed the right way.
DISPOSITION yOU CAN TRUST
Disposition on these heifers is second to none. Calm, easy-handling females are a priority in our program, and it shows in this group.
BUILT TO LAST
These open females are designed to go to work for you, breed up efficiently, and stand the test of time – exactly the kind of cows we want in our own herd.
DEVELOPED LIKE REAL COWS
Our bred heifers and cows are managed right alongside our cow herd, not sorted off and fed up to look good for sale day. They are developed to stay sound, productive, and profitable in real-world conditions.
Bred heifers received two rounds of Guardian, with the first dose given on December 25th and the second on January 11th. The cows also received their annual booster on January 11th, ensuring these females are fully prepared heading into calving.
These females are wintered on cornstalks and are required to walk to water daily, providing natural exercise to maintain soundness, muscle tone, and structural integrity.
Two of the heifers will be calved out prior to sale day. All calving work will be completed, and each will sell as a proven pair. Their calves will be over a month old at sale time and fully registered – ready to grow and perform for their new owners.

DKK Next Level 3014 (#4748377) is a bull we believe will have a major impact on the Red Angus breed. He is a direct son of STRA Relentless, a sire that needs no introduction and is nearly impossible to find semen on today. We feel Next Level is the best Relentless son to sell, and many other breeders agreed, as he commanded $25,000 at the Klompiens 2024 sale. Next Level truly checks all the boxes—calving ease, performance, carcass merit, structural soundness, a balanced EPD profile, big scrotal, elite pedigree, and an outstanding phenotype. His first calves are in the sale this year and are already showing a lot of promise. With only 50 units available this year, don’t miss your chance to secure semen on a bull that is built to leave a lasting mark.
If longevity matters to you, take a hard look at 321L’s (#4797530) pedigree. On the bottom side sits Rosie 214Z, a 14-year-old cow still in production, and Rosie 230J (granddam), a 1999 model that remained highly functional until age 13 before falling victim to the 2012 drought. On the top side are three influential Dahlke donors: Ms. Hilton 13F (8 years old and still producing), Ms. Hilton 263C (11 years old and still producing), and Love Bird 200Y, who stayed in production until age 11. 321L stamps his calves with a dark red coat and extra shape, just like himself. His full sisters in the Dahlke program are the real deal, further proving the consistency behind this mating. Use Dahlke Nostalgia 321L to build females that stay productive, sound, and profitable for the long haul.

A&R ROLLING DEEP L317 4 PACKAGES OF 10 UNITS
A&R Rolling Deep L317 (#4740723) was our high seller in the 2024 sale, selling to Paxton Carrier for $16,100. L317 is out of our longtime donor Bieber Sam 358Z, a cow that made her mark in the Bieber program and continues to do so in ours. Now 14 years old, she is still calving on time, maintaining a sound, functional udder, and standing on good feet—proof of the longevity and maternal strength behind L317. L317 is the easy-keeping kind, holding condition and putting on weight even while covering cows in Nebraska. If docility is high on your priority list, L317 deserves a hard look—his disposition is second to none. His first calf crop in Nebraska has performed very well, reinforcing the kind of consistency, functionality, and real-world performance we expect from our genetics.
