WELCOME! Dear Friends and Cattlemen, We would like to welcome you to our ANNUAL CHAROLAIS BULL AND HEIFER SALE. This program derives from a “Pioneer Herd Since 1957”. This past year has been very trying for people in agriculture with the markets and the weather fluctuating. During times like these it makes you appreciate your cow herd even more. Our cows have a great disposition and have been monitored for calving ease and growth. At the Fred Ranch bulls in this catalog are on a high roughage growing ration, and not pushed hard. The three sets of bulls are fed in different large pens with plenty of exercise and good water and protection. The heifers have been handled the same way, and will sell after the bulls. This sale offering comes from a strong set of AI sires. Our embryo program allows us to raise good females to attain this offering. Again our sale will be at the Burwell Livestock Auction, with video’s and online bidding being handled by DV Auction. You will need to make sure you are signed up and approved to bid before sale day. Videos prior to sale can be seen on Youtube and DV Auction. A link to our catalog will be there too as well as on our website. A supplement sheet of sale order and ultrasound will be available. Guarantee All bulls are guaranteed against breeding injury for the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following the first turn out of the bulls. In an event of a problem, it is buyer’s responsibility to notify us as soon as possible when an injury occurs. It a suitable replacement bull is available, he will be provided. It no bull is available, credit for the amount of bull’s purchase less salvage value will be given at Fred Ranch next sale.
All cattle must be settled for at the conclusion of the auction. Cattle are property as soon as cattle are sold. Sale day announcements have preference over catalog. Semen Interest in Bulls: Fred Ranch is retaining 1/3 revenue sharing semen interest in every bull selling in this sale. Full possession and full salvage value sells on all bulls unless otherwise noted. Trucking Arrangements: Bring your own trailer sale day and deduct $50/head. Bulls will be delivered free of charge in the state of Nebraska. Surrounding states visit with Jamie and Kay to make arrangements. Herd Health And Nutrition: The Fred Ranch bulls have a complete vaccination program. All bulls have been scrotal and semen evaluated, ready for breeding. Viewing: Fred Ranch bulls can be viewed anytime at the ranch until one day prior to the sale, then they can be viewed at Burwell Livestock Auction. All bulls will be penned in lot groups for your inspection sale day. Early visitors are always welcome. We are very pleased to offer semen from this Charolais herd sire who is doing everything we could possibly hope for with his proven progeny.. Used on heifers with no problems, but he should cause we bred his ancestors for these different taits and not just growth. Many people are looking for functional cattle that breed back with out owning an irrigation system to make them function properly. So far all ultrasound information is very satisfactory. He also has some of the qualities useful for raising good gentle and hairy calves for the show ring!

Gavin Romshek, Shelby, Ne and his family have purchased some club calves to show from us for several years. In the fall of 2017 Gavin had a dream and goals, and he put those into a plan. He wanted to start a seedstock cow herd. Gavin and his dad went to a bank, with his dad co-signing he got his loan. He chose two heifers we had offered on our online sale, and AI’d them to No Worries, a purebred Maine bull sticking for the first time. You can see how they are handled, feed wise, and the disposition of the animals. We are very happy to have Gavin choose our animals for his start in the cattle business, and can’t wait to see pictures of the baby calves.
