Welcome to this year’s offering. We are excited to offer this set of bulls, females, and frozen genetics to you all. First, I need to thank every one of you that took part in last year’s sale, and years prior. Whether it was viewing, bidding, or buying bulls, thank you! I want to keep earning your trust and provide good functional cattle that will go out and make your operation money.

Our goal of the operation is to always try and find/use bulls that we feel will sire steers that will grow up quick and have the style and capacity that makes them very marketable in the spring, but on the same note to keep our females big, BROODY, and long bodied cows, with good eye appeal. I’ll never forget when my grandpa Mike would point out a critter to me that he liked, his line was. “WOW look at the depth on that one” and that sticks in my head today and how I like to try and make them.

This year we will be doing the same online sale format as last year. The sale will be online-only hosted by DVAuction. Bidding opens on April 1 at 10:00 am, followed by bids closing on April 2 at 6:00 pm, and an extended bidding period until no bids have been placed for 5 minutes. We really encourage everyone to visit the farm to view the offering in person. Doing so will get you $100 off your purchase if you come before the end of the sale.

We try to offer you as many tools as we can to help you make your genetic selection. All of the bulls in the sale will have genomic-enhanced EPDs and will have been carcass ultra-sounded and all performance records available. A supplement sheet with all carcass data, scrotal, and scan day weights will be provided online.

The ADG test period was taken from weaning on Sept 28 2025- Feb 26 2026 (151 days). This gives an accurate representation of what the bulls did through all the weather conditions and challenges they might have endured. The bulls get fed right alongside our commercial steer pen, so they are developed in a responsible cost-effective way. All the bulls in the sale will have passed a breeding soundness exam, and given breeding shots prior to sale day so you can bid with confidence knowing the bulls are ready to go to work.

Lastly, we want to hear how the bulls are working or not working. Your feedback helps us improve and move both yours and our programs forward. We cull the bull group, at weaning, and in January for soundness, structure, disposition, and performance. If we wouldn’t use the bull on our commercial herd, we won’t offer them for you to use on yours.

FEEDING AND DELIVERY

BULL FEEDING & DELIVERY: Bulls are kept free of charge until delivery sometime in May. Free delivery is offered in South Dakota or up to 300 miles from Eureka SD. Deliveries beyond that at the cost of the buyer. We will assist in any way possible to get your bull to you.

HEIFER FEEDING & DELIVERY: Heifers are kept free of charge until delivery sometime in May. We will assist you in anyway to get your heifer to you. If you buy up to 2 or more heifers, delivery is free up to 300 miles.

Terms of the sale are cash. Bidding will be available online at www.dvauction.com. Please register early so you are approved as a bidder in plenty of time before the sale. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. Any person attending the sale or ranch to view bulls does so at his/her own risk. All bulls in this sale are guaranteed to pass a breeding soundness and health examination. Bulls are guaranteed breeders their first breeding season. In the event that a bull does not pass or is injured while at Raile Red Angus, a bull of equal value will be given or your money back. Once the bull leaves Raile Red Angus, he is the buyer’s responsibility.

That said, there’s still plenty to like here. He offers added length and the kind of fleshing ability that works in real-world conditions.
