Within the pages of this newsletter, you will find information that applies more directly to you and which building you will live in.

Health and Safety Inspections

Please be sure to check for the specific time your floor will be inspected. It is important to remember that certain items are prohibited within the residence halls, including candles, drugs, and other restricted items. In addition to these inspections, the maintenance team will be changing filters. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and respectful living environment for all residents.

A guarantor on a lease is a person who agrees to be financially responsible for the rent and any damages if the tenant cannot pay. They act as a backup, promising the landlord that the lease obligations will be covered if the tenant defaults

You can complete your lease by digitally signing it via the email sent to you by Lumina. Your guarantor will also need to complete the digital signing before it is complete.

Yes! If you are renewing your unit, you can stay over the summer If you are not renewing you must be moved out by your lease end date or request a late move out.

If you live in Brottier Hall, there is available parking under the building. Please fill out an application here! If you live in McGinley or St.Martin Hall please reference the Duquesne parking rates and garages

You can submit a maintenance request through Entrata. Click “Create Work Order” and fill out the form based on the maintenance issue that you are having

The Lease Transfer Process: Tips to Help You!

There are various reasons that you may be interested in transferring your lease For example - Are you graduating? Studying abroad? Are you having challenges with your roommate? No matter the reason, the resident will continue to be financially responsible for their lease until a successful lease transfer occurs.

1) WHAT'S THE REASON?

It costs $150 to transfer your lease. Additional fees may apply if you transfer your lease prior to September 1. Departing residents will see this charge on their DU student account AFTER a completed lease transfer.

2) LEASE TRANSFERS COST MONEY.

Stayinyourcurrentunitthroughtheendofthelease.

3) END DATE. START DATE.

EachofthefollowingoptionsrequiresyoutocompleteaLeaseTransfer RequestusingyourMultiPasscredentials(locatedonourCampusLinkpage under"Forms”)andworkwiththeLeasingAgent.

The original lessee will finish their lease at the end of the month. The new lease will begin their new lease on the first of the month. This applies to all months, with the exception of summertime.

4.) OPTIONS TO CONSIDER.

Transferyourleasetosomeoneelsewhoiseligibleandwantstoliveinthe hall.NOTE:Itisyourresponsibilitytofindsomeonetotakeoveryourlease. Ifapplicable,yourroommate(s)“buysout”thespaceyouresideintoalleviate responsibilityandensuretheydonotreceiveanotherroommate.Thiswould transferthecosttotheresident(s)remaininginthespace

1.)LeaseTransferAgreement-Currentresidentandincoming resident.

2.)Lease-Incomingresidentandincomingresident’sguarantor.

Afteralldocumentsaresigned,theLeasingAgentwillsignand executetheleasetransfer,andworkwiththeresidentstosetup atimelineforthemoveout/moveinprocess
