As an addendum to 2024 world premiere performance, WE HAVE GONE AS FAR AS WE CAN TOGETHER, Donald Dumpson conducted interviews with six Philadelphia-based Black faith leaders, including clergy and musicians on the role of community singing in activism and spirituality. This project draws on some of the themes of the performance, including the legacy of Rebecca Cox Jackson (1795-1871) as one frame of reference.
