Starting this week, the nonprofit Syosset Woodbury Chamber of Commerce has officially changed its name and adjusted its mission to become the Syosset Woodbury Jericho Chamber of Commerce. The move to expand its market and opportunities for more than 230 member businesses, as well as attract new members based in Jericho, was announced by Chamber President Russell P. Green during the chamber’s Thursday, May 21 monthly meeting, held at the Gus Scutari VFW Post in Syosset. On Monday, May 25, the newly rebranded chamber, led by Green and several board members, marched alongside the VFW, local veterans, Syosset school leaders, students, organizations and many others during the Memorial Day Parade prior to the remembrance ceremony. Prior to the name change, the Syosset Woodbury Chamber had already been active within the Jericho community. The two charitable organizations sponsored by the chamber as “nonprofit partners” for 2026 are Jericho Cares and Paws of War, and Jericho Cares President Fran O’Connor has been actively involved in cham-

ber events dating back to 2025. One of the existing 2026 Syosset Woodbury Jericho Chamber board members is Dr. Parul D. Makkar, whose practice, PDM Family Dental, is located in Jericho. Another recent effort welcoming Jericho as part of the chamber was the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Waxing the City, located in the Jericho Commons shopping plaza. Nassau County Legislator Arnold Drucker and Oyster Bay Councilwoman Vicki Walsh attended the Jan. 15, 2026 celebration. Green said he is looking forward to meeting Jericho business owners and working professionals interested in becoming chamber members. He noted that Jericho had been “unrepresented” in the landscape of local organizations serving small businesses. “We want to do networking events in Jericho when the opportunities arise, as new businesses join, and I know our existing chamber members are quite excited about the opportunity to interact with more Jericho businesses. I have heard the same interest from some Jericho businesses. At our chamber events there will be more interactions, and more See page 6
