Syosset Woodbury Chamber District rededicates installs new officers Holocaust studies center The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District celebrated the reopening of its newly renovated Holocaust & Genocide Education Center during the District’s annual Holocaust Remembrance Night on January 29th. The center in the Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School (POBJFKHS) library was developed with support and research materials from the Nassau County Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center. The updated center features Holocaust artifacts, a dedicated research archive, and a modern digital seminar space.

The evening’s program featured keynote remarks from Donna Rosenblum, Director of Education for the Nassau County Holocaust Center, and student-led sessions on the experiences of children of the Holocaust. Attendees included New York State Senator Steve Rhoads, Nassau County Legislator Arnold Drucker, and representatives from Assemblymember Charles D. Lavine’s office who presented the District with a check for $10,000 to be used towards the center’s renovation. See page 5

Drucker (D – Plainview) congratulated the 2026 slate of officers and directors of the Syosset-Woodbury Chamber of Commerce as they were sworn in during their installation dinner at Syosset’s George White Restaurant on Tuesday, Feb. 3. During the celebration, Deputy Minority Leader Drucker presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to returning Syosset-Woodbury Chamber President Russell P. Green, who has served in this role since 2021; as well as Vice President Tami Racaniello, Treasurer Kenya Zachary, and Secretary Melesia DeChiaro.

Deputy Minority Leader Drucker also presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to Syosset-Woodbury Chamber board members Alan Goldberg; Ari Goldblatt; Danielle Delgrosso; Steven Sprachman; Gregg Jaffe; Dr. Parul Makkar; Jim Nichols; William J. Chabina, Jr.; and Michael Gallo and had the privilege of welcoming Paula Mauro and William Murphy as new board members for 2026. “The Syosset-Woodbury Chamber of Commerce is relentless and unwavering in its advocacy for the small business owners who make our communities more vibrant and prosperous on a daily basis,” DepSee page 5
