Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined with the leaders of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library on Wednesday, July 26 to celebrate the grand opening of the facility’s newly installed electric vehicle chargers. At its July 26 business meeting, the Hicksville Board of Education appointed Ben Tangney as the district’s new middle school principal, effective immediately. Mr. Tangney has been the assistant principal at Hicksville Middle School since 2018. The Hicksville educator and administrator said, “I am looking forward to my new role and responsibilities as well as continuing to develop the strong positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and community members I have established in the past.” He continued, “I am passionate about ensuring that every Hicksville Middle School student has the support, resources, and experiences they need to thrive.” In his new role, Ben will oversee all the middle school programs that meet the needs of its students with a strong focus on academic, personal and interpersonal growth. Prior to Hicksville, Ben was an assistant principal at Newfield High School in the Middle Country School District, and he also served as a Regents Earth Science and general

New pickleball courts
The Town of Oyster Bay recently completed construction on pickleball courts at Centre Island Beach in Bayville. “This fun sport has become a favorite among our residents and we’re pleased to add new pickleball courts throughout the Town,” said Councilman Steve Labriola. “Pick-
