Bethpage Schools partner with Northwell for mental health care

Photo courtesy of the Bethpage Union Free School District The Bethpage Union Free School District has announced a new partnership with Northwell Health to create a community of care for its students and families. Bethpage joins several other Long Island school districts who have also connected with Northwell Health to support students’ mental wellbeing.

Starting on Feb. 1, students that reside in the Bethpage School District will have access to Northwell Health’s Behavioral Health Center in Mineola. Here, students will be able to receive care in a timely manner for any mental health crisis that they are going through. Aside from the in-school efforts and supports

already in place by the Bethpage Union Free School District’s pupil personnel team, the center will be readily available for any student that needs it. It will also eliminate the need to visit an emergency room in urgent situations. “Sometimes we need to See page 9

Town sponsors Tax Grievance Workshops Town of Oyster Bay Receiver of Taxes Jeffrey Pravato will host two free Property Tax Assessment Grievance Workshops for residents looking to acquire information on how to challenge their 2024–2025 property tax assessments. The workshops will be held in-person on February 8 at 7 p.m. at the North Massapequa Community Center (214 N. Albany Ave., Massapequa) and on February 13 at 10 a.m. at Town Hall North (54 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay). In January, Nassau County notified residents of their home’s tentative assessed value for the 2024/2025 school tax period and the 2025 general tax period. Any residents who did not receive the notice may view

At the workshop, Receiver of Taxes Pravato will answer questions and show residents how to use online tools to file an “Application for Correction of Property Tax Assessment” online or via mail. There is no requirement to pay a law firm or agency to file a grievance.
