Freedom From Back Pain
Has your chronic back pain made life difficult, unbearable even?
Have you had failed back surgery?
Are you suffering from stenosis, bulging or herniated discs?
Have doctors and specialists offered you pain management techniques that don’t really address the problem?
You are not alone. Nearly 38% of the world’s population suffer from debilitating back pain. And worse, the surgeries recommended to fix it have such a high failure rate that there is a medical term for it, Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). FBSS comes with a whole host of symptoms that often make life more difficult than it was before you opted to have surgery, and include persistent pain that can affect not only the back, but the neck and limbs as well.
Not all hope is lost, however. Westbury Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine specializes in treating back pain. Whether it’s from a disorder, repeated injury, osteoarthritis, or something more complex like FBSS, the staff at Westbury Acupuncture are helping their patients live lives free from pain.
“For our 45th anniversary, our children gifted us an ccccc
Alaskan cruise,” shares Max G.of Great Neck. “We were over the moon to say the least. But while the excitement of exploring the Tundra Wilderness was almost too much to bear, so was my back pain. I’ve had two failed surgeries and my surgeon keeps pushing for another. One of those foolme-once situations, but I also didn’t want to spend 10 days in a cramped cruise room miserable and taking pain pills.”
Jae Won, Licensed Acupuncturist, explains, “My patients are often individuals who have been told they should have surgery, but would either have a difficult time going under the knife or have tried that route with little success and decided to explore other options. There is more to healthcare than prescription pills and scalpels. By offering several integrative therapies, we are able to combat and treat your pain from several angles cccc
ensuring the best possible outcome.”
Westbury Acupuncture has pioneered non pharmaceutical, non-surgical innovative medical solutions that not only address the back pain itself, but its cause as well.
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, and stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. To expedite this process, Westbury Acupuncture integrates a targeted microcurrent therapy called ATP Resonance
BioTherapy Ⓡ .This technology was originally developed by NASA to expedite healing and recovery.
In especially complicated conditions, they will also utilize O3 Regenerative Therapy™, a proprietary technique that makes use of ozone therapy. Ozone therapy has been used since cc
the 1800’s and was actually a popular tool for doctors during the first world war because of its antibacterial, antiviral, and antiinflammatory properties. Westbury Acupuncture uses it today to combat inflammation and in a majority of cases, offer their patients a more lasting solution.
“If you would’ve asked me 3 months ago if I thought I would feel this good after a few acupuncture treatments, I would’ve told you you’re nuts. But I’m a believer. My wife and I are currently booking excursions for the cruise and I’m actually looking forward to it. Before I would’ve been hesitant to even schedule something like dog sledding knowing my pain was through the roof, but now I can’t wait. Obviously, I have my kids to thank for this trip, but I can’t help but take my hat off to the team at Westbury Acupuncture because those people are the reason I’m going to truly enjoy this trip.”

Route 66 Centennial Sparks Renewed Interest in Old-Fashioned Road Trip

In these unsettled times and despite high fuel prices (or perhaps because of it), the old-timey family Road Trip is enjoying renewed allure – like comfort food from your childhood, the road trip evokes nostalgia for an imagined simpler, more innocent time. People like the freedom – from timetables, security lines – the ability to spend as little or as much time, to come upon some serendipitous discovery, to immerse in local happenings and celebrations.
A key event sparking interest in the road trip this summer is the centennial celebration of Route 66. Spanning 2,448 miles across eight states from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California, Route 66 became synonymous with the road trip adventure, a symbol of American freedom on four wheels.
This year, the Route 66 Centennial Commission is inviting roadsters to step back in time and experience the retro charm, vintage vibes, small-town hospitality, and trendy twists on classic roadside dining. Use the official Route 66 Centennial (route66centennial.org) portal to plan your stops, or read the AAA Route 66 Road Trip guide for scenic route highlights.
