Town honors firefighters for 50 years of service Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino recently attended the Bethpage Fire Department’s Installation Dinner to honor Ex-Chief Francis X. DeBobes, Sr., Ex-Chief Francis Durr, and Ex-Chief Anthony Mancini, all of whom reached the remarkable milestone of 50 years of service to the district. Supervisor Saladino stated, “The Town of Oyster Bay is proud to honor brave firefighters and first responders like Ex-Chief
Francis X. DeBobes, Sr., Ex-Chief Francis Durr, and Ex-Chief Anthony Mancini who have dedicated their lives to protecting our community. We are forever grateful for your service and courage in answering the call of duty and being part of the select few who choose to run towards an emergency, instead of away. God bless all first responders and the brave men and women in uniform who protect and serve.”

HHS celebrates Class of 2025 On June 20, Hicksville High School proudly celebrated the graduating Class of 2025 with a heartfelt commencement ceremony held on the school’s athletic field. As the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” played, family and friends cheered, creating a festive and emotional atmosphere. The ceremony began with the Pledge of Allegiance and was followed by the performance of the national anthem, sung by senior Alyson Kingsley and interpreted in Amer-
ican Sign Language by senior John Ryan Chaplin. Principal Raymond Williams then took the podium to warmly welcome the graduates, expressing peace, gratitude and admiration for their achievements. In his address, Principal Williams applauded the Class of 2025 for their determination, academic strength and the decisions that brought them to this moment. He highlighted the school’s rich multicultural environment and encouraged students to
embrace their individuality, celebrate their diverse backgrounds and strive to make a meaningful impact on the world. “Dream boldly and dream big,” he concluded, thanking students for being part of an extraordinary journey. Vehicle strikes Dunkin A 37 year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle and drove into the front of the Dunkin Donuts located at 49 Jackson Ave., Syosset, on Wednesday, June 25, according to Nassau County Police.
Police say the driver first struck a parked car before colliding with the front of the store. The driver and one woman inside the building were treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
