MESSAGES TO THE COMMUNITY Dear Lisle 202 Learning Community, There is no question that the past year has brought significant challenges. We saw the need for our collective approach to supporting each other was amplified in the midst of the continuing adjustments and changes we all experienced during this pandemic. We asked more of you than ever before, and we are incredibly grateful for your support and partnership. We have always strived to find balance in incorporating both academic and social-emotional approaches into our instruction and interactions to support the growth of the “whole child”. This year the simple physical distance showed that, more than ever, students needed avenues to receive academic and social-emotional support to achieve success and feel connected to their school and their peers. As a result, our schools developed new programs to provide the type and varied levels of support to address the wide range of student needs. Some examples of this include the Lisle Elementary School Student Mentor Program, Lisle Junior High School “What I Need” (WIN) Time, and Lisle High School Study Tables. We know that programs like these made a difference and we will be looking at how we can continue to integrate this type of outreach and support for our students when we return in August. A lot has been asked of our students and families this year, and with each new phase you partnered with us to create learning experiences that made a difference for our students. We look forward to great things in the future, carrying the lessons we learned to make our learning community stronger and better than ever. Dear Lisle 202 Learning Community, Our school district, community, and the world experienced many changes this past year as we all navigated the continuously evolving information during the pandemic. The Board of Education appreciated the input and concern you shared with us with each new adjustment. The guidance from the health experts and your feedback helped to inform our decision-making and create a path toward returning to in-person attendance nine weeks into the school year and expanding to five full days of in-person attendance for the final two months of the school year. We would like to thank you for being tremendous partners in learning and evolving together over the past year to ensure our students continued to grow within the unique educational environments. The long-standing tradition of strong relationships in Lisle District 202 will continue to serve as the foundation for the District’s mission of providing our students with the essential education, skills and experiences for future success and protecting the health and safety of our learning community. The pandemic may have tested us, but we weathered the worst of the storm together and will celebrate as we return in the fall with new knowledge and commitment to our mission of preparing our students for the future. C l a s s o f 2021 FUTURE FOCUSED The Class of 2021 was challenged unlike any class before, yet the students were intent on making this year seem as “normal” as possible with determination and enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of our students as they continue on their journey beyond Lisle 202 and we thank them for their many contributions to our ONEPRIDE. Lisle District 202 is #LionProud that 92% of the Class of 2021 graduates are continuing their education at a university or technical college.

FOCUS ON STUDENT ENGAGEMENT LHS Students Stay Involved During the Pandemic Lisle High School activities and athletics shared many new experiences this past school year due to the pandemic including virtual practices, events, and competitions. The Math Club, Scholastic Bowl Team, Science Olympiad Team, and DECA Club all advanced far into their annual competitions, with two DECA students advancing to the international competition finals. Sports teams adapted to the delay in seasons with weekly meetings which included book studies, virtual leadership workshops, and other creative activities to stay engaged while at home. Despite the delays and changes, Lisle High School sports teams had the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities by the end of the school year and our students garnered several individual and team achievements including Conference championships, undefeated seasons, All-Academic and All-Conference recognition, and a deep playoff run by the girls’ soccer team.
LJHS Roar Store Celebrates Positive Choices Lisle Junior High School launched a new incentive system to encourage students to participate in school, connect with others, and celebrate positive character traits. Students earn PRIDE Points for demonstrating school values in the classroom, in the halls, during lunch, and in after school activities. Students “bank” their PRIDE Points to shop at the weekly ROAR Store. The Lisle Junior High School PRIDE values are Participation, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy. More than 150 students participated in the store during the three weeks it was open this year. The PRIDE Points and ROAR Store will resume during the 2021-2022 school year to continue to encourage PRIDE values at Lisle Junior High School.
LES Continues Special Tradition Lisle Elementary School classrooms were able to overcome challenges to normal routines this year and continue the tradition of Mystery Readers with virtual visits. The current technology allowed students’ family members to join in the classrooms on the classroom presentation screen, read a story, and interact with the students in real-time. This new twist on engaging with students’ families has opened opportunities for those who may not have otherwise been able to participate and served to keep the joy and fun of mystery reading alive!

Summer Acceleration Program A program designed to target students who struggled to meet all of the essential grade-level learning expectations in English/ Language Arts and Mathematics this past school year. Students were invited to participate in this program in order to accelerate their learning and help prepare them for the upcoming school year.

iReady Learning Pathways Reports were sent home with each student at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year. Students may independently participate in assigned online lessons to reinforce and expand their learning.

Credit Recovery A program that addresses a wide range of content areas using Edgenuity. Online courses are self-paced and require students to complete only the content on which they have not yet shown proficiency.

Advancement Courses Students may enroll in online advancement courses using Illinois Virtual School, BYU, or Edgenuity.

Driver’s Education Both the classroom portion and the Behind the Wheel portion of Driver Education is available for interested students.

Welcome New Board of Education Members
The Board of Education approved a waiver of school fees for the upcoming school year as part of the District’s ongoing commitment to supporting our learning community. The fee waiver covers all PreKindergarten through 12th Grade book and materials fees. Class fees and other optional fees may still apply.
Lisle 202 will continue to offer the Grab & Go breakfast and lunch meal program throughout the summer at no cost to all children under the age of 18 within Lisle District 202 boundaries. Families may pick up meals on Mondays and Thursdays from 11am-2pm at Lisle High School.

Lisle Elementary School is excited to welcome our new class of young learners! Children whose birthday is before September 1, 2021 may enroll in Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year.
Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is fully online for all returning students. All forms and documents will be submitted through PowerSchool.
