Crossing the Gardiner Transit,

Threshold, and Atmosphere

PROPOSED BUILDING RENDER

Completed: 2025

Advisor: Branislav Folic

Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Iluustrator Photoshop

This project reimagines a transit hub as an architectural promenade, where circulation becomes a spatial and atmospheric experience rather than a purely functional conduit. Spanning rail lines and the Gardiner Expressway, the building operates as a connective threshold between Liberty Village and Exhibition Place.

Material transitions, tectonic thinning, and shifting light conditions organize movement through a sequence of distinct atmospheres: anticipation, reflection, energy, and return.

Transforming everyday infrastructure into a shared civic experience.

AXIS EIGHT

PROPOSED BUILDING RENDER

Completed: 2024

Advisor: George Kapelos

Revit, Rhino, Endscape, Illustrator, Photoshop

Located on Niagara Street near Stanley Park, Axis Eight is a mid-rise mixed-use project integrating retail and diverse residential units within an industrial-inspired framework. Drawing from the material and spatial language of nearby factories, the design centers on an octagonal atrium that organizes circulation, brings light deep into the building, and connects shared amenities and housing through a transparent street-facing facade.

open to below

A central octagonal atrium organizes circulation and communal space, establishing vertical and visual connections across the building. An exposed metal framework wraps the corner facade, while layered terraces and setbacks articulate the upper levels, mediating between interior space and the street.

PHYSICAL MASSING MODEL

Active street-level retail, including a café that opens directly onto the sidewalk, terraces extend from the octagonal atrium, offering residents shared outdoor

THE CRYSTALLINE CENTRE

The Crystalline Centre Library reinterprets the structural logic of historical mining shafts as a civic architectural

Set at Church Street and Adelaide, the project inverts the language of extraction, transforming underground geometries into a vertical, light-filled public space. Exposed mass-timber framing and cross-bracing translate the precision and rigor of mining infrastructure into an open architectural expression. By bringing this structure above ground, the library becomes a place of transparency, material clarity, and collective occupation. The act of excavation is reimagined as a spatial and civic experience.

LANEWAY SUITES

COMPLETED:2024

ADVISOR: GEORGE KAPELOS

REVIT,ENSCAPE,ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP

Located along the edges of Stanley Park, this project explores vertical living through a laneway duplex composed of two distinct three-storey units. Each residence interlocks across staggered floor levels, creating dynamic sectional relationships and spatial variety within a compact urban footprint. The design emphasizes privacy, daylight, and circulation.

AVIS OBSERVATORY

COMPLETED: 2023

ADVISOR: VINCE HUI

RHINO, ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP, ENSCAPE

Enclosed galleries frame controlled views into the canopy while maintaining visual separation between visitors and habitat.

AVIS OBSERVATORY

LIOR SHNEER

Located in High Park, the Avis Observatory serves as both a bird blind and an educational pavilion integrated into the natural landscape.

The design includes an upper and lower gallery, enclosed observation areas for quiet viewing, and an outdoor roof deck that offers panoramic views toward the lake. A double-height classroom forms the central space, connecting visitors across levels while framing views of the surrounding canopy.

EXPLORATIONS

Exploratory studies in form, structure, and spatial organization.

Patterns of urban growth and voids in a city fabric, emphasizing contrast between built mass and voids.

Rhythm, repetition, and a dialogue between solid and transparent elements. The stairs imitate movement and transportation.

Speculative testing of scale and overlaping layers. Historical to present so future.

Urban field model mapping density and spatial hierarchy.
