Introduction During the 2025/26 academic year, a wide range of projects have been undertaken across the Trust from minor refurbishments and compliance-related works to strategic developments aimed at improving long-term suitability. This report highlights key works completed across our estate of 17 schools, as well as upcoming projects and those scheduled for completion soon. Our teams have worked diligently to deliver these projects while managing the day-to-day operations of each site. We remain committed to enhancing all our school environments to ensure that every student has a safe, secure, and inspiring place to learn.
The Old House – The Castle Rock School
The Old House at Castle Rock, a listed building dating back to the 1800s. The property had suffered from years of extensive water ingress due to a deteriorating roof and drainage system. Significant restoration has seen the building transformed into a Trust office and conference facility, spanning two floors. The project was completed August 2026.The House now once again stands proud and can be enjoyed by all for many more years to come.

Beauchamp College is currently undergoing major roof improvement works across multiple blocks, representing a significant investment in the long-term sustainability of the estate. Phase One of the programme was successfully completed during the early part of 2026, with Phase Two now underway as work continues across the campus. Further substantial investment has delivered a brand-new kitchen facility for the college. The project represented a major upgrade to the catering provision and required contractors to work against a challenging programme to ensure the facility was fully operational for the start of the new academic year. The completed kitchen now provides a modern, efficient, and fit-for-purpose environment capable of supporting the needs of the school community
Other notable improvements across the Beauchamp site include a full redecoration of the main Sports Hall, giving this fantastic facility a fresh new look ahead of the new academic year. The toilet facilities within the Sports Hall block have also been refurbished. In addition, the Science Block has benefited from the installation of new flooring

Brocks Hill Primary School has seen a continuation of its redecoration programme with classroom improvements and a new all-weather outdoor area
Brocks Hill has been awarded a place on the School Rebuilding Program, due to enter feasibility from 2027. At present, we are unsure on the scope of the works but would anticipate widespread demolition of the existing 2-form entry school and reinstatement. In advance of this work, we have also been awarded funding by the Local Authority to expand the capacity of the school by 210 places (and additional form in each year group). This work has commenced and is preceding the SRP project to construct a standalone block to ultimately house Y5 and Y6 (some provisional floor plans and architects illustration of the block below).

The Main Hall at Sir Jonathan North Girls School has undergone a full refurbishment and has been restored to its former glory and grandeur. Improvements include the installation of new acoustic panels to enhance the functionality and versatility of the space, a newly carpeted stage, and new blinds throughout. The refurbishment has also seen the reinstatement of the historic Sir Jonathan portraits, helping to preserve the hall's heritage while creating a welcoming and practical environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Castle Rock School - School Rebuilding Programe works have commenced on the significant rebuilding of The Castle Rock School. Five buildings (Runnymede, Davyhulm, Alexandra, Haworth and Dagenham) are all scheduled for demolition to be replaced by new two storey L-shaped building to the southwest of the site. DfE plans also include the creation of sports provision, a MUGA and new hard-play facilities – some indicative artist’s impressions of the development below.

The school has also benefited from a range of further enhancements, including the refurbishment of toilet facilities and improvements to the central atrium within the Bletchley Building. In addition, the distinctive circular library has undergone a full redecoration, creating a brighter, more welcoming environment that supports both teaching and learning. Outside has seen a brand new 3G artificial pitch installed for the school and wider community These improvements form part of the Trust's continued investment in maintaining and enhancing its learning environments, ensuring that students and staff have access to facilities that are modern, functional, and inspiring

Broom Leys Primary School - A continued programme of internal redecoration has brought significant improvements to the school environment, thanks to the excellent work of our trusted contractors. Recent projects have included the refurbishment of the main staircase leading from reception and the Main Hall, alongside the careful restoration of the hall’s herringbone flooring. These enhancements have greatly improved the appearance and quality of key areas within the school, creating a more welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors alike.

Newbridge School - It has been a busy and productive few months at Newbridge School, with significant investment made in both the learning environment and the school’s infrastructure. Alongside an extensive programme of internal redecoration, the school has undertaken a major upgrade to its heating systems, transitioning away from biomass fuel through the installation of new energy efficient gas boilers. This improvement will provide a more reliable and efficient heating solution for years to come. The school’s dining facilities have also been transformed, with the Newbridge Diner receiving a complete refresh to create a far more welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for students. In addition, several classrooms have benefited from refurbishment works, with the Music department seeing a remarkable transformation

Humphrey Perkins - Has again seen many improvements both internally and externally across the site in particular in English and Science with superb redecoration and new floors. Following recent H&S Audit and Condition Survey new steps and pathways have been re-laid and new fencing installed

Cedars Academy - A significant investment has been made in the heating infrastructure at the Cedars Lower Site, with new boiler systems now successfully installed and fully operational. This upgrade modernises the site's heating provision, improves efficiency and reliability, and represents another important milestone in the Trust's five-year improvement strategy. The successful completion of these works helps keep that programme firmly on track.
New corridor flooring has also been installed across various locations around the site.
As part of our commitment to Green Energy and a greener school, muliple sites including Cedars and across the trust have this summer been fitted with Premium EV Charging Pods for Staff, Parents and Community. In partnership with Ultimate EV and Octopus Energy, we have launched high-speed charging hubs designed to support the DfE’s climate action goals and promote sustainable travel for our entire community.

Highcliffe Primary School has benefited from significant infrastructure upgrades following a recent Condition Survey. The survey identified that a full electrical rewire was required within the Elmfield Building. Works commenced during the Easter holiday period and included the installation of a new armoured electrical cable from the Greengate Plant Room to Elmfield, involving over 130 metres of trenching across the site. As part of these improvement works, a new gas connection was also installed to serve a replacement boiler within the Highcliffe Swimming Pool. This has enabled the school to move away from the existing biomass heating system, providing a more efficient and cost-effective solution for the future.
Highcliffe has also this summer refurbished their School Library boasting now a new fantastic reading and intervention space for all to enjoy, 7 out of the 8 Classrooms in the Elmfield block were also redecorated over the summer following on from the electrical rewire… busy summer at Highcliffe.

Riverside Primary School's Lawn Building has undergone significant refurbishment since April 2026. Improvements have included the redecoration of classrooms, the restoration of the building's original wooden flooring, the installation of new windows and doors, and the introduction of new furniture throughout. The toilet facilities have also been redecorated, with refurbishment of the Main Hall scheduled for completion during the October half-term, completing the transformation of this historic building.

Hallam Fields Primary School has been a hive of activity since the beginning of 2026, with the expansion project transforming the school into a two-form entry provision. The development has included the addition of a new EYFS classroom and studio hall on the eastern elevation and six further classrooms on the western side of the building. A new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) has also been installed to the rear of the site, providing enhanced outdoor sports and recreational facilities for pupils. Together, these improvements will see over time increased school's capacity and has improved the learning environment for the growing school community.

This academic year has also seen the completion of the internal redecoration programme at Hallam. All classrooms have been refreshed, along with the main corridor, creating a consistent appearance throughout the school that aligns with the modern feel of the recent expansion.
Newhall Junior School – SRP Newhall joined the Trust in July 2024, already on the DfE’s School Rebuilding Programme. The first phase of this project was to construct and install a temporary building to house the school for several years now that the old building has been demolished, the new permanent solution is to be built on the existing school site.

Mercia Academy also joined Lionheart in June 2024 already on the DfE’s School Rebuilding Programme. The first phase of this project was the construction and installation of the temporary building that currently houses the school now that the old building has been demolished, and a new permanent solution is built.
