Design Identity
Inspired by King Khai Dinh’s ornate elegance, the architecture features a central skylight evoking morning rays piercing Bach Ma’s mist, casting dynamic light and shadow for a serene, nature-connected ambiance. The design harmonizes tradition with contemporary luxury, offering an immersive experience that celebrates Lang Co’s stunning landscape and cultural legacy.
Context & Strategy
The design translates the natural phenomena of Bach Ma Mountain into a contemporary architectural language. Layered forms and articulated surfaces respond to the shifting sun path, allowing the façade to evolve with light throughout the day.
A floating secondary screen abstracts the lightness of clouds, reducing visual mass while providing environmental control and depth. Vertical circulation and terraced spatial sequencing draw inspiration from cascading waterfalls, creating a rhythmic and immersive movement experience.
Referencing Lang Co’s serene forests, a refined colonnade system echoes the verticality of tree trunks, establishing a filtered transition between interior and landscape. The result is an architecture that blends environmental responsiveness with spatial elegance.
Operational Excellence
The redesign of Lang Co Resort masterplan addresses the inefficiencies of the existing “T”-shaped hotel layout by reorganizing circulation and creating distinct arrival experiences for different guest types.
Hotel visitors are greeted with a dramatic axial view toward the sea upon arrival, enhancing the sense of openness and connection to the landscape. In contrast, villa residents are provided with a more private and exclusive entry sequence, reinforcing a sense of seclusion and luxury. The ascending driveway leading to the drop-off not only responds to the terrain conditions, but also creates a layered sequence of arrival that enriches the guest experience.

The resort mbraces the site’s breathtaking natural terrain to create a curated, immersive escape. Comprising a 100-key hotel, 48-key condominium, 44-key wellness resort, and 200 villas, the masterplan unfolds across five experiential zones — Forest, Lagoon, Sea, Beach, and Cliff. Each zone draws from its distinct topography to offer bespoke encounters with nature.
The design celebrates seclusion, wellness, and sensory immersion, redefining island luxury through a harmonious integration with land and sea.
