THE LINDALE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

EDUCATING EVERY CHILD EVERY DAY March 6, 2023 For Immediate Release

Dear Lindale ISD Families, At approximately 8:15 a.m., a threat was called into the Lindale Police Department dispatch. By 8:17 a.m., Lindale Police and other local authorities were on scene of the LISD Administration Office and E.J. Moss West and East. Lindale ISD already has a LISD Police Officer stationed at every campus as normal procedure. After preliminary and secondary sweeps of the E.J. Moss East and West campuses, authorities gave the all clear. No weapons or suspicious packages were found. “We received an anonymous call,” Lindale Police Chief Dan Somes said. “The caller was advising that he was armed and he had explosive devices. We had units very close, so the response was quick.” The following agencies responded and assisted during the lockdown and investigation: ● Lindale ISD Police Department ● Lindale Police Department ● Department of Public Safety ● Texas Rangers ● Smith County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office ● Smith County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office ● Smith County Sheriff’s Office ● Smith County Fire Marshal’s Office ● Tyler Police Department ● Lindale Fire Department ● FBI
