Our Purpose
The Lindale ISD Education Foundation provides a new and innovative source of funding to support the school district’s educational plan. The Foundation does not attempt to replace lost state funding, nor does it attempt to take the place of the district’s operating budget. When considering the level of funding required to educate students, the Foundation can expect only to provide funds for those projects and activities that go beyond the normal classroom experience. Such initiatives WILL provide enrichment, research opportunities, training, intervention and prevention strategies and extend the educational effort. Funds provided by the Foundation will directly benefit students in the Lindale Independent School District and will make a positive difference for them. Donations will remain in the school district and thus benefit the entire community through an investment in education and quality of life.
In placing an emphasis on creating a perpetual source of funding, a percent of all undesignated contributions will be set aside as an endowment. As this endowment grows, it will eventually provide a secure source of educational funds for funding programs from interest earned on invested capital, keeping the endowment intact. Remaining contributions will fund a variety of innovative programs and projects initiated by teachers and administrators at the campus and district levels.
The Foundation’s plan calls for development of ongoing annual activities and projects that involve the entire community of staff, families, businesses and organizations to build a broader base of funding and a higher level of support for the school district. Ways to contribute include:

Grants for Great Ideas
Grants for Great Ideas is an innovative approach to help supply LISD educators with resources to increase student performance and achievement. Some of the projects funded included technology to improve fluency in elementary and special education students, state-of-the art probes for high school science labs, forensic science tools, and projects to help struggling students understand math concepts
Honor Roll
The Foundation created the LISD staff peernominated award to be given in the spring semester of the school year The goal of the Honor Roll is to recognize the often unsung heroes of LISD, who approach their job with 100 percent commitment and effort and are true champions for education. Honorees are nominated by other LISD Staff members for the award.
Academic Excellence Banquet
Each May, the Foundation hosts the Academic Excellence Recognition Banquet honoring the top ten graduating seniors and the LISD teachers the students select as the most influential in their educational careers.
Lindale Turkey Trot
Organizers with Camp Gladiator - Lindale put together the first-ever Lindale Turkey Trot presented by Christus Trinity Mother Frances on Thanksgiving Day 2019! This race is a fun way to raise money for the Lindale ISD Education Foundation.
Cornerstone Club
The Cornerstone Club is a significant part of fundraising supporting the Lindale ISD Education Foundation. LISD’s educators and staff volunteer to give through payroll deductions or through one-time gifts by becoming members of The Cornerstone Club.

Drama Scholarship
A scholarship fund for LHS theater students started by John and Peggy Kirton. The Kirton's put nearly $60,000 in the hands of the Lindale ISD Education Foundation to create an endowment that would impact the high school’s drama department for years to come. The endowment establishes a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to four drama students annually for 12 years. The scholarship will total $4,000 each year. The remaining money has been donated to the foundation to award innovative grants for classroom projects

An annual stage performance for LISD at the Performing Arts Center with students from each district campus participating. Schedule includes student musical talent, prose speakers, fine arts performances, student vocalists and soloists from every LISD campus

For the 15th consecutive year, the Lindale ISD Education Foundation was able to successfully host the annual Act's program in March of 2026. Act XV: The Talent Zone presented by the Cooperative Teachers Credit Union raised more than $14,000 The Act's program is an annual stage performance at the LISD Performing Arts Center. Students from each of Lindale’s 6 campuses participate. The show includes student musical talent, prose speakers, fine arts performances, student vocalists, and soloists. All proceeds from the fine arts ticketed showcase benefit the LISD Education Foundation.

“It’s a first-place finish for our school and community health. We hope to have an even bigger impact next year and after."
More than 500 runners participated in the 5k run which was held on Thanksgiving morning. The funds raised will be going into Lindale ISD classrooms as part of the Education Foundation’s Grants for Great Ideas program.
Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health Systems presented the Lindale ISD Education Foundation with a $12,500 check. The funds were raised from the sixth annual Lindale Turkey Trot.
"The Lindale Turkey Trot is a perfect example of how great things happen with collaboration between our outstanding school district, city, race planners and volunteers, and Christus Health,” said CTMF Vice President, Mary Elizabeth Jackson.

The Lindale ISD Education Foundation honored a Lindale ISD Distinguished Alumni and Service member presented by the Cooperative Teachers Credit Union at the Homecoming football game! Congratulations to Mrs. Barbara Wilson and Mr. Gary Camp!
Distinguished Alumni Member, Gary Camp graduated from Lindale High School in 1975 In 1981, he opened his own tax consulting and accounting office here in Lindale as Gary W Camp, CPA Today, he continues serving the community as a tax and wealth advisor through Camp Tax and Wealth Partners, LLC, right here in Lindale. In 1996, Gary was elected to the Lindale ISD Board of Trustees, where he faithfully served our district for an incredible 21 years His leadership and dedication helped shape the future of Lindale schools and positively impacted countless students and families
We also celebrate the recipient of the Lindale ISD Distinguished Service Award, which is presented to an individual who has given extraordinary service, dedication, and commitment to the students, staff, and community of Lindale ISD Barbara Wilson began her career with Lindale ISD in 1977 She was a classroom teacher who later moved to the position of counselor for all of Lindale ISD. She was instrumental in the decision making to have a counselor at each campus. She later held positions as principal, curriculum director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent Since her retirement in 1997, she has stayed loyal to the school district and helps give students the opportunity to be successful She serves as a volunteer on campuses, working with students who need assistance and also serves as a board member for the Lindale ISD Education Foundation – raising money for students and teachers.
