Whether you’re decorating a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, entryway, or front porch for spring, you’ll find that 2026 decorating trends are all about creating homes that feel fresh, welcoming, and easy to live in. After my recent visit to Spring fair 2026 this is what i predict to be adding into your home this season.

Spring 2026 continues the love affair with organic modern decor, blending clean lines with nature-inspired elements.

This spring and summer you’ll see plenty of:

• Warm wood finishes for dining, tables, consoles, side boards, bookcases, joinery and mirrors

• Stone and marble accents for coffee tables, side tables and accessories

Our Home

• linen, cotton, and soft wool textiles for cushions and bedding

• rattan, cane, and woven details in chairs, bedside tables, lamps and vases.

• unique artwork – introducing atmosphere and a pop of colour, invest in art pieces you love.

Spring colours accents of:

• Pale cloud blue and misty coastal tones

• Soft sage, citrine, muted olive,

• Blush, peach, and sun-washed terracotta

• Washed lavender and dusty lilac

• textured wallpapers.

these colours shine in small doses — throw pillows, rugs, bedding, bath towels, artwork, or fresh florals — making them perfect for easy seasonal updates.

T HE S PRING 2026 S To NE A ESTHETIC

this season, stone accessories are the key piece you can’t be without, and here’s why…

• Ground light, airy interiors

• Add quiet luxury without shine

• introduce texture instead of colour overload

• feel crafted, organic and timeless think less décor, more presence.

Here are my top interior design tips for adding stone aesthetic into your home.

1. S T yl ING S To NE lA m PS (S TATE m ENT, NoT F I ll ER )

Stone lamps are anchor pieces in 2026 interiors.

How to style them

• Place one stone lamp per zone (sideboard, bedside, console)

• Pair with:

• linen or parchment shades

• Warm bulbs (2700K max)

• let negative space surround the lamp— don’t crowd it

Spring trick

Balance the visual weight:

• Stone lamp + light wood furniture

• Stone lamp + sheer curtains or pale walls

Works beautifully in living rooms, bedrooms, and entryways. Our Home

2.  VASES: S CU l PTURA l, E VEN W HEN

Em PT y

Spring 2026 favours vases as objects, not just flower holders.

How to use stone vases

• Style odd numbers (1 or 3 max)

• Mix heights, but keep colour tones similar

• leave at least one vase empty for sculptural impact

Best florals for stone vases

• Single stem branches

• Wildflowers

• Dried grasses

• Green stems only (eucalyptus, olive, willow)

Avoid tight bouquets—they clash with the organic look.

3. S To NE Bo W l S: F UNCTI o NA l BUT El EVATED

Stone bowls are used as low, grounding elements.

Where they work best

• Coffee tables (centered or offset)

• Kitchen islands

• Dining tables (empty or with fruit)

• entry consoles

What to put inside (or not)

• leave empty for a gallery feel

• A few natural objects only:

• Citrus

• Pears

• Stones

• Wooden beads

No potpourri, no clutter

4. S To NE J UGS: T HE So FTEST WAy To I NTR o DUCE S To NE

Stone jugs are perfect for spring because they feel:

• Casual

• Artisan

• Mediterranean

Styling ideas

• On open shelves in kitchens

• As bedside water jugs

• With one loose stem on a dining table

• Grouped with ceramics (not glass)

Stick to rounded forms rather than sharp angles this season.

What to avoid

• too much glass nearby

• High-gloss lacquer

• Busy patterns next to stone pieces

T HE Gol DEN RU l E (V ERy 2026)

One meaningful stone piece is better than five small ones. Stone is about weight, calm and intention—let each piece feel chosen, not styled.

tHe luxury oF a deep Clean: a FresH start For your Home

in today’s fast-paced world, our homes have become more than living spaces — they’re sanctuaries. And while regular cleaning keeps things ticking over, a deep clean offers something far more transformative.

A Bright & Beautiful deep clean reaches the places everyday routines miss: the skirting boards, the hidden corners, the high-touch areas that quietly collect dust and allergens. the result is a healthier, fresher environment with noticeably improved air quality and a renewed sense of calm.

Beyond the immediate sparkle, deep cleaning

helps protect the long-term beauty of your home. removing built-up grime, limescale, and residue preserves surfaces and appliances, keeping everything looking and performing at its best.

But perhaps the greatest benefit is how it feels. A deeply cleaned home brings clarity, comfort, and a sense of luxury to everyday living — the perfect seasonal reset and a simple way to elevate your space and your wellbeing.

A Bright & Beautiful deep clean isn’t just maintenance; it’s a moment of renewal.

time For a spring Clear?

long gone are the days of washing soot from the walls and beating a year of dust out of the furniture. Central heating, improved cleanliness and the fast pace of modern life’s demands competing for our attention, mean many of us have abandoned the annual Spring-Cleaning tradition completely.

Yet as the days grow longer and the daffodils come into bloom, it’s a great time to harness the optimism and opportunity of spring. local CPO® (Certified Professional Organizer) Katherine Blackler invites us to consider a modern alternative to spring cleaning by having a refreshing Spring-Clear-out instead. reviewing whether the things we have around us still serve us, and then shedding anything surplus, creates more physical and mental space to do the things we love or need to accomplish.

to help us let go of our clutter, we asked Katherine, founder of SortmySpace ltd, for her top decluttering tips to gain more clarity and space;

• Take ‘before’ photos. You’ll be inspired by how far you’ve come. it inevitably gets worse before it gets better! Hang on in there.

• Declutter before buying storage solutions to confirm what containers or furniture you really need.

• Focus on just one area: a drawer, a cupboard or a smaller room in the house. in the bathroom, expired medicines and congealed toiletries are an easy target until your ‘decluttering muscles’ have warmed up.

• Allocate time and eliminate likely distractions (wherever possible). try muting your tech notifications and asking someone to mind any children or furry friends.

• Getting started is often the hardest part. take little steps if giant leaps are unrealistic. But definitely start.

• Allocate a box for ‘sentimental stuff’ or really difficult decisions. Pop things in there so you don’t grind to an early halt. You can return to those items when you’re feeling stronger and enjoying the clearer space you’ve created.

• Reward yourself for your decluttering efforts – ideally with experiences rather than more things!

• There’s no shame asking for help from friends or family if you’re feeling overwhelmed. And if it’s too emotional reviewing your belongings with loved ones, a professional organiser can provide impartial support.

A B o UT K ATHERINE

Katherine has recently moved from london to Stourbridge after falling in love with a Black Country man and is enjoying getting to know the area. She’s now supporting West Midlands’ clients with their life events such as house moves, refurbishments, births and bereavements. Katherine also works with neurodivergent clients who find their brain’s natural wiring makes certain activities such as decision-making, prioritisation, and creating sustainable habits, somewhat trickier. She can help create functioning systems for your home or workplace, tailored for the individuals using those spaces.

your Hearing

With easter just around the corner, we usually think about easter eggs, family get togethers or attending a church service. it might be the right time to show some eggstra love to two of the most hardworking parts of your body: your ears.

Hearing is the sense that keeps us connects us with life. Whether it’s relaxed conversation, hearing a "Happy easter" from a loved one, or following a conversation in a busy restaurant, your hearing is at the heart of your social life.

THE "INVISIBlE" STRAIN oF HEARING loSS

We often talk about the physical side of hearing loss, but the emotional impact is just as significant. When hearing starts to fade, often gradual, it can create a "communication gap" between friends and families:

• The "mumble" Factor: Are people are mumbling more than they used to? it can lead to frustration on all sides.

• Social Withdrawal: if you find it exhausting to follow conversations in noisy places, you might start turning down invitations to social events you used to enjoy.

• Volume Wars: if the t V volume is a point of debate in your home, it might be a sign that one person’s hearing may need a little support.

TREAT yoURSElF

(AND yoUR EARS!)

taking care of your hearing isn't just about "fixing a problem", it’s about enhancing your lifestyle. Modern hearing technology is now so discreet and intelligent that it fits seamlessly into your day-to-day life.

from devices that sync directly to your

smartphone to Ai-driven "Prestige" models that automatically adjust to the acoustics of a room, listening can be effortless again.

WHAT To ExPECT AT oUR HEAR IN ClINICS

if you’ve been putting off a check-up because you’re worried about a clinical, daunting experience, let us put your mind at ease. Visiting our family-run clinics in Hagley, Wombourne, or rubery is more like visiting a friend for a chat.

• A Warm Welcome: We’ll start with a cup of tea or coffee and a relaxed conversation about your lifestyle.

• State-of-the-Art Hearing Assessments: We use the latest technology to get a precise map of your hearing health.

• No-Pressure Advice: As an independent practice, we’re not tied to any single manufacturer. We only recommend solutions that truly fit your needs and your budget.

Bella Bellissimo sardinia!

D.H. lawrence once described Sardinia as ‘strange and rather wonderful, and not a bit like italy’. Visitors may reflect on these words as the true nature of this beautiful Mediterranean island unfolds.

Sardinia was founded by the Phoenicians, developed by the Carthaginians, occupied by Vandals, Byzantines and romans, ruled by Pisans, conquered by the Aragonese and given to Austria. in 1861 when Victor emmanuel ii was proclaimed king of italy, the island was declared part of the unified italian state.

Cagliari, the capital, offers a tantalising insight into Sardinia’s colourful kaleidoscope of history and culture. the popular marina quarter, which was once a roman military camp, is now a warren of winding streets with an extensive selection of bustling trattorias and quaint local shops. Serious shoppers should head for Via Giuseppe Mano and the pedestrianised Via Garibaldi and largo Carlo felice, a very busy street leading up to the castle and Piazza Yenne, which is the place to watch the young and trendy strolling by. the ancient area of Stampace features the roman amphitheatre, which is simply magnificent. the botanical gardens (Viale fra’lgnazio) and Phoenician underground chambers are among the most popular tourism sites and highly recommended.

the spectacular castle sits high above the city and the examples of Pisan, Catalan and Aragonese architecture are enthralling. largo Carlo felice, by the castle, is the site of the 13th century Pisan Duomo, the Archbishop’s Palazzo Viceregio and the Pisan fortifications of torre di San Pancrazio dating back to 1307. the National Archaeological Museum displays an impressive collection of Bronze Age artefacts and the National Gallery also attracts the crowds. for those in need of a rest after all that activity, the six –mile long soft sandy beach at Poetto is the place to find a sunny spot for an afternoon snooze.

i headed for a taste of luxury at the forte Village resort. Surrounded by the enticing scents escaping from the 25 hectare garden and only a 45- minute drive from the centre of Cagliari this resort is a real treat for those who love to be pampered. there are seven hotels on the resort including the |il Castello, which offers the highest levels of comfort and service, spacious accommodation and first class dining options. the reputation of the resort is such that the english, italian and German national football teams have all opted to spend their rest periods in this resort to ease the pressures in the constant pursuit of the World Cup.

for sports enthusiasts’ football and tennis fans

are well catered for. there are twelve tennis courts, a full- size floodlit football pitch, one 8- a- side pitch and three 5-a- side pitches. for water-sport lovers, the fresh water le Palme pool, next to the spa has three water chutes and water jets to massage those aches. the Oasis saltwater pool features an impressive children’s pool area and a trampoline area for older children and wayward fathers!

And for those of us who appreciate more leisurely pursuits such as sipping a good wine, Sardinia continues to grow in its reputation as a producer of impressive wines.

i sampled the Vernaccia, a sherry-type wine, the dry version is served as an aperitif and is simply delicious, and the sweet version, served as a dessert wine, is sublime.

As i gazed at the sun setting over this beautiful island i raised my glass in honour of D.H. lawrence, reflecting again on his words ‘Sardinia is strange and rather wonderful, and not a bit like italy’.

airHop BirmingHam relaunCHes , Bringing neW energy to tHe City’s Family leisure sCene

AirHOP Birmingham, formerly known as rush, has officially relaunched this month, bringing new attractions and renewed investment to the city’s growing family leisure offering.

the well-known Birmingham activity venue has reopened following a major transformation, introducing a refreshed brand, upgraded facilities and a wider range of activities for families across the West Midlands.

the venue, based on lifford lane in Kings Norton, has been part of the local area for more than nine years, welcoming generations of families, schools and groups - but now returns with a completely updated experience.

Since joining the AirHop Group, the park has benefited from significant investment, culminating in a summer 2025 relaunch that reflects how families in Birmingham want to spend time together today: active, social and suitable for all ages, whatever the weather.

the revamped park combines classic trampolining with modern, interactive attractions. New and upgraded experiences include Ar trampolines and ValoArena mixedreality games, Soccer 360 football zones, highenergy obstacle courses and popular group favourites such as dodgeball and the Battle Beam. these sit alongside the Main Court, featuring freestyle trampolines, slam-dunk lanes and accessible jump areas designed for a wide range of ages and abilities.

With improved layouts and viewing areas, the park has also been designed to better accommodate families spending longer visits together. the on-site AirHop Café offers food and drinks with a clear view of the activity areas, allowing parents and carers to relax while staying close to the action.

Anthony Smith, general manager at AirHop Birmingham, said: “We’ve been part of the Birmingham community for a long time, and that’s exactly why this relaunch matters. Many

local families think they already know this park — but it’s changed completely. We’ve invested in new attractions, upgraded the whole space and created something that adds real value to Birmingham’s family activity scene. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or coming back after years away, it’s a very different experience.”

Offering parents convenience and kids an action-packed, screen-free day out, the expanded venue is also ideal for birthdays and school trips. for adults, AirHop Birmingham provides an adrenaline-fuelled day for team building or group bookings with friends.

Now open to the public, AirHop Birmingham is inviting families from across Birmingham, Solihull and the wider West Midlands to rediscover the venue and experience what’s new.

A DIARY OF EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES

new year

After a busy Christmas and New Year period, we were delighted to have the opportunity to catch up with Nick and Royston before they begin filming for the new series of The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

Lauren Simon of The Real Housewives of Cheshire is a dedicated supporter of several homeless charities and has worked closely with Barnabus to raise vital funds for rough sleepers in Manchester. The charity continues to highlight the critical need for support and shelter, particularly during the winter months.

Following her appearance as a special guest at the Barnabus Going for Gold Gala in October, Lauren decided to host her own fundraising event at ‘Victors’ in Hale. Family, friends and fellow cast members from The Real Housewives of Cheshire - including Nick and Royston - came together for a Sunday of exceptional food and entertainment. The event was a great success, raising many thousands of pounds for this worthy cause.

BARNABUS CHARITY EVENT

NEW SEASON OF THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF CHESHIRE

The start of 2026 marks the launch of the 19th season of The Real Housewives of Cheshire. Returning as regular guests are Nick and Royston, alongside original housewife Ampika Pickston.

Over the coming months, Nick and Royston will be busy filming and reconnecting with the latest dramas and events surrounding the Housewives. Joining Ampika, is Shane Lynch of Boyzone, and his wife Sheena White. The first day’s filming was at an event held at The Orange Tree in Congleton. This vibrant venue, known for its lively atmosphere, excellent food, and impressive cocktails, provided the perfect backdrop for the opening episode.

Season 19 is set to air in March and anticipation is already building.

DINNER IN MALVERN

MANCHESTER DOGS HOME

As passionate dog lovers, Nick and Royston were more than happy to support Ampika in raising Christmas funds for Manchester Dogs Home. With increasing financial pressures on charities, every contribution plays a crucial role in supporting the care of dogs until they can be rehomed.

Nick and Royston were tasked with running the tombola stall, quickly drawing in a crowd with their warmth, humour and fun-loving personalities. The day was a resounding success, raising much-needed funds for a charity that is very close to their hearts.

Close friend Yvette Brentnall, kindly invited Nick and Royston to spend an evening at her beautiful home in the stunning Malvern countryside. Having shared many memorable holidays over the years, time spent with Yvette and her family is always greatly cherished.

As expected, the weekend was filled with laughter and enjoyment. After a wonderful dinner, the music was turned up and Yvette and Royston took to the dancefloor, strutting their moves and creating yet more happy memories.

It was truly a wonderful weekend spent in the company of great friends.

investing tHrougH Cloudy days

We all have days when the weather in our heads feels a bit cloudy — and sometimes investing can feel the same.

When markets are unsettled, headlines are negative and portfolios wobble, it’s easy to believe this is how things will always be. Just like a run of grey, rainy days, the present moment starts to feel permanent.

But markets, like weather, move in cycles. even when we can’t see it, the sun is still there above the clouds.

One of the biggest challenges in investing isn’t choosing the right fund or timing the perfect moment — it’s managing how we feel when things are uncomfortable. Short-term volatility can distort long-term perspective, leading us to forget why we invested in the first place.

this is where wellbeing and investing overlap.

And just as a bad day doesn’t define our wellbeing, a difficult market period doesn’t define a long-term investment plan.

Clouds pass. Markets recover. Perspective returns.

Sometimes the most valuable investment decision we make is simply staying put — and looking after ourselves while we do.

At Cre8 our systematic approach to investing means our portfolios are low cost and diversified with a tilt to value companies. volvo xC90 ultra

the Volvo xC90 has been in the Volvo stable for many, many years, and it is a cliché but it is true to say that if something is not broken then why try to mend it. the shape is a familiar one, but it has had subtle differences, there’s a new grille, headlights, front bumper and there is even a brand-new Volvo badge. it has been refined but still has that familiarity and that solid look that you know that this is a Volvo, it is dependable, secure, desirable car that will do everything that you would probably want from a vehicle, writes Bob Hickman.

Several of the new features for this flagship vehicle are technological, to give 15% better fuel economy and a new one for me is a brake by wire system which gives an engine recovery facility, all very technical and hi-tech.

the xC90 is a very mild hybrid. it is equipped with a 2-litre 1969cc 4-cylinder petrol engine which produced 250bhp and a 0-60 in 7.7 seconds and a top speed for those who are interested, at 112mph. the combined fuels

being quoted at being anything from 30 to 32 and during a week of nearly 300 miles the computer suggested that i had done a meagre 27.8 mpg. it drives on huge 20” wheels with massive tyres, the bill to replace these alone would bankrupt a lot of people.

My particular vehicle had been equipped with metallic paint at £795, it had also been fitted with a retractable tow bar that at the press of a button dropped in to place, and this cost a staggering £1400.

the interior is a combination of familiar and a few new additives, all in the infotainment system. there are, i’m glad to say, a few buttons on the steering wheel, the quite large infotainment system screen had excellent and easily understandable graphics.

there is a wonderful amount of space within the cabin, as you would expect from the exterior dimensions. the boot is really huge, but you must drop the 3rd row of seats to

actually benefit from this huge boot space because, this xC90, is a 7-seater, the 2 most rear are actually very accommodating. i like the factor the middle row of seats slides backwards and forwards, they also recline.

i think there is a degree of familiarity within the interior of the xC90, the infotainment system sits just out and forward and is 11.2 inches. i t was reasonably easy to look at as long as you knew what to do. there was a voice control system in addition and again this is a feature to sit and explore and see what it wanted to do.

the Google Play system, which uses Android Auto, was strange to me as i’m an Apple person, for a vehicle in the 2025 you still have to connect your phone with a uSB cable, this was a disappointment. i have now got used to uSB Blue tooth connectivity.

Whilst the xC90 is a large vehicle, in and

around town, the 8-speed automatic box was a delight, you sit very high with excellent visibility, manoeuvring in and out of traffic and parking was not a huge problem due to a plethora of cameras which were installed on the vehicle.

Where the xC90 really excels is on the motorway or A roads or a long journey. it is a stable, secure comfortable vehicle, the front seats are very supportive and you can do huge journeys without feeling tired or have backache or any issues whatsoever. this really is the forte of the xC90.

the xC90 range start from £65,450, the particular test vehicle with the options included was £72,840.

Volvo offer a 3-year or 60,000 miles warranty which can be upgraded if you wish at an extra cost.
