We are thrilled to host the Smithsonian traveling exhibition Americans from December 19, 2026-January 30, 2027!

Exhibition Opening Night Friday, December 18 at 6 pm

Join us for Exhibit Opening Night and be among the first to experience this powerful new exhibit. Celebrate our partnership with the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians / Pokégnek Bodéwadmik with a special evening featuring an invocation, drum circle, traditional food, and opportunities for community connection.

Community Read Along November 23-December 30

Part of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street and National Museum of the American Indian, this powerful exhibit explores how American Indian histories, cultures, and identities are deeply connected to the story of the United States.

Through compelling images and stories, Americans invites visitors to look at familiar moments in history from a broader perspective and gain a deeper understanding of Native American experiences and contributions.

LTPL is honored to partner with the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians / Pokégnek Bodéwadmik for this meaningful exhibit experience. We will also offer related programs and community learning opportunities throughout the exhibit to celebrate Native American history, identity, and local connections.

Celebrate our upcoming Smithsonian Americans exhibition by reading The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich. Pick up a free copy, share your thoughts on our Community Read Along Wall, and join us December 30 for a discussion and themed activities inspired by the book.

SUPPORT THE LIBRARY

A goal of our recent library revitalization was to create a beautiful space for our visitors. Have you ever looked at our new fireplace and thought “They really need some beautiful artwork above it”? We think so too!

The Lincoln Township Library Foundation is thrilled to announce a new project working with glass artist Carolyn O’Hearn of Fusion Studio Glass and Josh Andres, metal artist. We envision a beautiful installation above the new fireplace that reflects the piece in our foyer, “Whirlwind of Knowledge,” designed by Cindy Fielding of Fusion Studio Glass. Books will take wing from their places on shelves above the fireplace and fly into the heavens.

Patrons can help support this project through sponsoring the book covers, pages, or spines in the artwork. Each piece will be handmade and personalized with the donor’s choice of text. The color palette will reflect the library’s branding. You can choose from four different fonts and include an image on a cover or page (subject to the naming policy and approvals).

Special limited-edition ornaments featuring the LTPL logo and cushioned in a gift box will also be available for purchase, which would make a lovely holiday ornament or a beautiful piece to hang in your own library.

Bring the family for a fun-filled fall afternoon at Baroda’s Trail & Treat! Kids can dress up in costume, collect treats along the trail, and enjoy festive activities in a safe, community-centered Halloween celebration. Be sure to stop by the Lincoln Township Public Library to say hello, make some pumpkin slime, and learn about upcoming library programs and services!

Celebrate the magic of the season at Christmas in the Village! Shop local stores for unique holiday gifts, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate, and enjoy festive cheer throughout town. Families can visit with Santa for photos and make special holiday memories.

Be sure to stop by the library booth to take part in a fun seasonal activity for all ages.

Kitten Yoga

Kitten yoga is back with Tempest Yoga and Animal Aid of Southwest Michigan! This time around we’re going to have two 30-minute sessions to accommodate more people. Please sign up for only one session! Nonparticipants will have the opportunity to interact with the kittens. This event is free, but donations will be accepted for Animal Aid. Ages 6 and up. Friday, October 16 from 6 pm – 12 am

Tweens/Teens aged 12-15 are invited to a special lockin event. There will be games, crafts, refreshments, and more. Registration with parent’s permission is required.

This summer, participants joined us for Summer Reading, making it one of our most successful programs yet. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registering online is the quickest and easiest way to reserve your spot. If you register for a program but are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so that someone on the waitlist may have the opportunity to participate.

Please note: If you are more than 10 minutes late to a program, your reserved spot may be forfeited to accommodate other attendees.
