year, Calciid Class Editor David Robinson went on a mission to discover what underclassmen were doing to shape the way for their futures . In this section you will find a variety of students spending their time improving their personal lives as well as building their social status. David first noticed new students on campus . Seeing new faces is very exciting due to our small campus atmoshpere. Enrollment, recruitment. and re-

turning students made 2007 a record breaking year in admissions. While on assignment, David learned that students had their priorities in order. Studying is a major component for underclassmen on their journey to success. Take student Ashley Vaughn for example. Ashley maintained an excellent GPA while continuing her leadership role on and off the soccer field . Although students put their studies before their social lives,

they also made sure they had time for one another. With many social gatherings and events, Junior Brittany Owen used her personality to turn a stressful day of work into hours of laughter and jokes. Though the demands of school work and campus involvement are important pieces to shaping a successful future, David realized that the weekends were always something to look forward to . Students took the time to sleep in, relax, and to recover from the

week. As David signs off for another busy week, he can attest that relaxation and recovery time is an essential piece to college life.

last four years have been exciting, but the anticipation of graduation can be overwhelming . Facing the completion of a challenging task and knowing there is another one ahead can be difficult. With the accomplishments of soon-to-be graduates, there will certainly be achievements left behind for others to carry on. He isn 't your traditional student; he is the 2nd oldest wrestler in Division II programs as well as having served in the military. After college , Mr G looks forward to attending law school. He leaves behind, an organized SGA and an unforgettable personality.

Another Senior M ira nda Schenkel, completes the task as tutor in the writing center among other accomplishments. Her ability to maintain her high GPA while being involved in numerous activities on campus including the Candelabra, the work study program, and the Alpha C hi Honor Society, is adm irable . Limestone College has provided our seniors with valuable skills, determination , and knowledge to continue successful tasks in the future.

As one accomplis hed Senior and Calciid advertising editor, Matthew Jacobs would say, have no worries and you can triumphantly complete the task." Ajob well done.

1fou are about to see the most vital pieces here at Limestone College. Without these knowledgeable people, many leaders tomorrow would be lost. There are not enough words to express our thanks and gratitude. Behind the scenes, in the offices where Limestone College staff work, there are many hidden valuable pieces. Many students brag about

how well our staff members perform. In the offices at Limestone, there are a lot of wonderful, helpful, and caring people. In this section, you will learn more of the personal side of Limestone's staff members. Not all, but a few were chosen for you to meet throughout this section. Here at Limestone College, we have dedicated employees that have stuck with us

through years of hard work and labor. These employees have experienced all aspects of Limestone College and what it has to offer. Working at Limestone and watching the College grow over the years, their commitment and loyalty have made Limestone College a place where students and staff members can call it their home. Limestone's faculty and staff are really kind people with

interesting stories. Many of them are different in their own way, but one thing is for certain: our gratitude. Thank you for playing a huge role in making sure we, as students, have all the knowledge and information we need before entering the 'real world.'

any working adults would love to accomplish the goal of eaming a college degree. But, sometimes, certain circumstances can make it difficult to reach that goal. With most adults being employed full- time and having family obligations, going back to school can definitely be challenging. However, Limestone College makes the task a little more bearable with its Extended Campus program. , ; ;College has always been

In the forefront when it comes to making dreams a reality. The Extended Campus program has been offering evening classes in various locations across the state since 1976 and on the Intemet since 1997. Since its creation, thousands of adults have eamed a college degree from anywhere 'n the world . What adm ration the Calciid staff has for the adult student! After meeting several Extended Campus students, we were

overwhelmed with their responsibilities and their activities. Almost every adult works a fulltime job 'n the daytime and attends classes at night or online. Nearly 100% have children who are also In school, some even college, and some already in the workforce. With children come ballgames, gymnastics, dance classes, cheerleading , homework, and just pia n quality time. These amazing Extended Campus students find time to juggle it alii They all want to improve

themselves and be good role models. Though these students aren't your traditional students, they are inspring students and they have no problem fitting in at Limestone

(Jganization members at Limestone College are working extremely hard throughout the school year planning for events. There are several organizations on campus including Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), CalcFid Yearbook group, Limestone Activities Board, Limestone Community Chorus, Wind Ensemble, Show Choir and the students who put together the Candelabra Literary Magazine.

The Limestone College Show Choir is one of the groups which plans many events. The group performs at the Limestone College Christmas on Campus, Graduation, and in the community. Another involved group is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Their biggest project last semester was a fellowship retreat to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which was a big success. This has been a year of many

achievements with approximately 700 students, different outreach projects, and more campus involvement. In addition to FCA, the Christian Education and Leadership Program is dedicated to leadership, devotion, and to total commitment to serving God's purpose. One of the many big projects for CELP was Habitat for Humanity. The students go out in the community and build a home for a family in need. Not only does CELP reach out

to this community, they also participate in a mission trip to Brazil each year. The students teach children and residents about the Holy Bible and guide them to Jesus Christ. Organizations are a great asset to Limestone College. They allow students to come together and interact for a common goal.

it ~ first time you hear the word

"academics· your first thought is probably achievements only inside the classroom . The definition of the word "academics· is a collective term for students and the community engaged in higher education, courses and studies, and peer-reviewed research, taken as a whole . Limestone takes that definition literally since achievement is inside and outside the classroom with all the academiC clubs and societies available.

The students involved in these academic clubs work twice as hard at both, in the classroom and extracurricu lar activities. These students not only have good grades but are very talented. Limestone offers many activities and invites each student to be part of them . These academic clubs and honor societies include Theatre, Alpha Chi (National College Honor Scholarship Society) the Student Organization of Social Workers, Criminal Justice (Alpha Phi

Sigma), the Psychology Club, Students in Free Enterprise, Phi Alpha Theta Internationa l History Honor Society, Student Government ASSOCiation , Student Alumni , and Musical Educators National Conference. Each of the clubs works very hard during the whole year, setting an example for the rest of the students. One of the most notable ach ievements of any of the clubs and honor societies this year is the regional honors that SIFE took at the conference

in Atlanta, GA. You will always see the academic groups working on new projects, providing students a way to learn outside of the classroom . All of these groups add a little something more to Limestone and there is something for every interest.
