As we read on, we often discover that each turned page doesn't always reveal the text we want to read. Sometimes we'll pursue our day's lesson only to fi nd ourselves plodding through the muck of frustration, turmoil, and despair ... But that's life . It may sound trite, but it's true. The manner in which we choose to deal with each situation will mold our memories. If we choose to focus on the negative rather t han t he positive, we'll never fully appreciate t he opportunities Limestone has given to us. Within Limestone's classic halls we've learned to communicate, to m ake an effort to participate, to study and work t oward an ultimate goal, to make someone our friend. -id, A suffix occurring in English derivatives of modern Latin taxonomic names, esp. zoological families and classes; such derivatives are usually nouns denoting a single member of the taxon or adjectives with the sense "pertaining to" the taxon: arachnid; canid.

The Limestone College yearbook, T he Calciid, was first published in 1904, with Eunice Temple Ford of that class serving as Editorin-Chief. Messages of Support Limestone Reacts to September 11 th

Students, faculty and staff wrote messages on posters that read "LimestOne College and the Gaffney community suppOrt our nation. " The posters were then sent on a ttuck carrying relief supplies ro St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New York City. The effort was organized by the Student Organization for Social Work (SOS). "We want people to know that even though LimestOne is small, we're still involved in what's happening in the world," SOS member and event organizer Rebekah Kirkman explained.

Limestone Heralds H oliday Season With Christmas On Campus

Student athletes helped the College continue the traditional lighting of the lumlnanes IlntOg College Dnve and Limestone's from campus walkways. Since the tradition's Inception in 1985, the luminaries have grown from 200 ro 12,000 candles

Members of the Jazz Ensemble, the Show Choir and the Llmesrone College Community Chorus presemed ·Sounds of the Season" on the front campus. The ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree also occurred. The Limesrone College Community Chorus performed the Christmas portion of Handel's .'Imroh.
