PAVING THE ROAD TO CLIMATE NEUTRALITY

Limassol Marina recently achieved Superyacht Ready Accreditation from The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), further strengthening its position as a leading superyacht destination in the Mediterranean.The accreditation follows a rigorous assessment of the Marina’s ability to accommodate superyachts exceeding 24m, considering key areas that include service, safety, operations and infrastructure.

Recognised internationally within the superyacht sector, the accreditation provides owners, captains and crews with confidence that the Marina meets with the highest standards.

The achievement places Limassol Marina among a select group of accredited marinas worldwide, reinforcing Cyprus’ international yachting sector reputation, while acknowledging the dedication of the entire Marina team.

Limassol Marina was proud to sponsor the international conference ‘Climate Neutral Blue Cities by 2030: Accelerating Local Change under the EU Cities and Ocean Mission’, held in Limassol over March 19-20, 2026. The two-day forum brought together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and investors to explore how coastal and port cities can accelerate their journey towards climate neutrality. Organised by the Municipality of Limassol within the framework of the EU Mission for 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030, the conference focused on collaboration, knowledge exchange and practical solutions to advance the green and blue transition.

Discussions covered topics including sustainable urban mobility, renewable energy, coastal restoration and portcity decarbonisation, with an emphasis on the benefits of integrated approaches and cross-sector partnerships in delivering real change. Limassol Marina was pleased to support an initiative closely aligned with its commitment to responsible waterfront development and long-term sustainability, while contributing to conversations shaping the future of coastal cities.

LEADING THE CONVERSATION

Limassol Marina’s ongoing focus on sustainability, green initiatives and best practices were showcased at “Marbella: Sustainability in Mediterranean Marinas”, an international industry event hosted in October 2025 by Puerto Banús in Málaga.

Participating on a panel virtually, Limassol Marina General Manager, Nikiforos Pampakas presented the Marina as a case study of how luxury marinas can balance growth with environmental stewardship. In particular, he highlighted the Marina’s sustainable design, eco management practices and wider sustainability moves, placing a particular focus on renewable energy generation, community engagement and educational activities.

The event spurred dialogue and collaboration among Mediterranean marina operators towards a replicable model of regenerative ports, exploring how the luxury marina sector can drive more green waterfront development, where biodiversity, science and sustainability form integral parts of longterm growth.

EV CHARGING POINTS ADDED

Further enhancing its sustainability initiatives, Limassol Marina recently introduced new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations within its multistorey car park. Located near the car park’s north exit, the new three-phase chargers can power electric vehicles at

up to 22kW and are available to both Marina residents and visitors. Drivers can access the service by scanning a QR code and completing payment directly from their mobile device.

The addition forms part of Limassol Marina’s ongoing commitment to enhancing convenience while working towards a greener future. Further charging stations are planned, making it even easier for visitors to enjoy the Marina’s waterfront amenities while their vehicles recharge.

NEW FLAVOURS ASHORE

REGATTA’S GLOBAL APPEAL GROWING

Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, the Cyprus Coastal Regatta returned this year with strong participation from sailors across Cyprus and abroad.

Organised by Limassol Marina in collaboration with F&S Marinas, the race took place on May 1, 2026 along a 30-nautical-mile course starting and finishing at Limassol Marina. Around 30 boats took part, with competitors representing 11 nationalities, highlighting the event’s growing international appeal.

The regatta concluded with a prize-giving ceremony at the Marina, celebrating another successful edition of the competition. Beyond the competition itself, the regatta brought together sailors, visitors and enthusiasts, strengthening local sailing while enhancing cooperation within the industry and promoting Cyprus as a premier destination for yachting and sailing in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Limassol Marina has welcomed Azura, the new Mediterranean restaurant bringing an ingredient-led approach to dining. Inspired by the elements of land, water and fire, the menu showcases Mediterranean flavours cooked slowly and seasoned simply.

Fresh fish from the coast and herbs from the garden run throughout, with highlights including smoky baba ganoush, rich moussaka and salt-crust sea bass, alongside a selection of dishes prepared over charcoal and live fire. Adding a warm, contemporary Mediterranean vibe to the Marina’s collection of restaurants, Azura further enhances the vibrant culinary scene, reinforcing the Marina’s reputation as one of Cyprus’ leading lifestyle and hospitality destinations.

THE ART OF TASTING

FOCUS ON CREW CONNECTIONS

Members of Limassol Marina’s yachting community recently enjoyed a day of adventure and exploration at Sayious Adventure Park in Asgata, as part of the Marina’s annual crew calendar of events.

Held on April 2, 2026 the Crew Adventure Day invited crew members to experience a range of outdoor activities, including Enduro rides, off-road buggy adventures and archery. The day concluded with a traditional lunch at the renowned Dragon Nest tavern, offering participants the chance to network, while enjoying authentic local flavours.

Set against the backdrop of the Cypriot countryside, the event was a chance to step away from daily routines, connect with fellow crew members and experience a different side of the island. The day reflects Limassol Marina’s ongoing focus on enhancing the crew experience both on and off the water.

A new addition to Limassol Marina’s dining scene, Delta Symmethexis brings a contemporary approach to Greek cuisine built around the joy of sharing. Derived from the Greek word for communal participation, the restaurant’s name reflects a philosophy that flavour becomes more meaningful when enjoyed with others.

The latest concept from PNS Restaurants Group, the team behind Epsilon Resto Bar and Gazebo Mare, Delta Symmethexis features a menu curated by award-winning chef Andreas Andreou Drawing on local, seasonal ingredients and Mediterranean influences, the menu blends modern innovations with traditional techniques and tastes.

Designed for sharing, the menu includes a selection of salads, seafood dishes and charcoal-grilled meats, alongside Greek favourites prepared with a contemporary touch. Desserts continue the theme, with offerings such as Orange Pie with kaimaki ice cream, Chocolate Mousse with hazelnut and Maldon salt, and Mastiha and Rose cream with Aegina pistachio.Bringing modern Greek gastronomy to a setting that feels refined yet understated, Delta Symmethexis offers a new way to experience dining by the sea, where good food is best shared with good company.

WATERFRONT CULTURE

Limassol Marina’s Slipway was transformed into an open-air cultural venue from June 12-14, as the inaugural Rues Ciné Art: The Marina Experience welcomed hundreds of visitors across three evenings of cinema, art and family entertainment.

The festival combined outdoor film screenings with artistic interventions, exhibitions and creative workshops. Live music and food and beverage experiences contributed to the lively atmosphere, where audiences of all ages gathered by the water to enjoy a programme that extended beyond the cinema screen. From family favourites to timeless classics, the event highlighted a growing appetite for premium outdoor cultural experiences in Cyprus. Meanwhile, hands-on activities including pottery, painting and sensory art encouraged participation from younger visitors.

Following the success of its debut edition, Rues Ciné Art is set to return, establishing a new platform for activating public spaces through cinema, creativity and community engagement on the Limassol waterfront.

SHOWCASE OF AUTO INNOVATIONS

Limassol Marina welcomed a recordbreaking number of visitors for Limassol Motion 2025, a two-day automotive exhibition celebrating the latest developments, trends and innovations in transportation and vehicle technology.

Gathering leading brands from across the industry, the event showcased an impressive collection of cars and motorcycles, as well as products and services for discerning enthusiasts, all in a unique waterfront setting.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience interactive attractions, including a Motor GP simulator, while families enjoyed an engaging programme designed for all ages.

The event highlighted Limassol Marina’s continued role as a platform for forwardthinking experiences that engage the wider community.

A CULTURAL VOYAGE

COMMUNITY IN ACTION

On January 27, 2026, Limassol Marina residents, visitors and members of the public took part in a Blood Drive at Paradox Museum Limassol, in aid of patients and families facing medical challenges.

Through a single donation, each participant contributed towards a lifesaving effort in support of the community’s healthcare needs, The Blood Drive formed part of Limassol Marina’s continued CSR commitment, highlighting the positive impact of collective action.

As part of the free Art Explora Festival, the world’s first floating museum, the 47m Art Explorer, docked at the Limassol Marina in autumn 2025. From October 25th to November 4th, visitors to the largest sail-powered catamaran of its kind experienced sound installations celebrating the Mediterranean, and took VR journeys through ancient Alexandria, Athens and Venice.

With partners including the Louvre Museum and UNESCO, the Festival’s mission is to make art and culture more accessible through unexpected spaces.

As one of only a select number of Mediterranean ports to host the travelling cultural initiative, the Marina welcomed thousands to the museumship over 10 days, reinforcing Limassol’s growing reputation as a destination for world-class cultural events.

SWIMMING FOR A CAUSE

Limassol Marina supported the ninth annual ‘Swim with the Special Forces (ΟΥΚ) for the Little Heroes Foundation’. Held before Christmas, the 1.5km charity swim in aid of the Children’s Oncology Unit raised awareness and funds for children battling cancer.

During the event, Limassol Marina’s helipad hosted a Cyprus Police participating helicopter, providing a glimpse into the event’s logistical support. By opening its facilities to such initiatives, the Marina continues to strengthen community connections, while contributing to meaningful causes.

IN SIGHT OF SHORE

The coastline of Cyprus appears as a ribbon of land from the sea, but, get closer in, and those inaccessible inlets are now available. WILD WEST WATERS

Leaving the Marina, the yacht takes a slow course past the harbour wall to meet the wash, and the first destinations come into view. Sailing west, the coastline changes quickly. Urban edges give way to cliffs, quiet bays and swimming points that feel far removed from the city skyline. This is where the value of chartering becomes clear: access. The loggerhead and green turtles hatch off the western beaches and often appear in these bays. The beauty of the charter is being able to plan personal anchorages to see these creatures; it is this exclusivity that gives guests the thrill of singular luxury.

A favourite of charters is Lover’s Bridge and the famous Cavo Greko Sea Caves, both seen only from the water. As locals to Cyprus, the charter teams have personal knowledge of the best coastal restaurants and can offer recommendations for light lunches or sumptuous suppers. Cyprus’ yachting industry is built on trust. Behind every vessel is a network of skilled, competent people who keep the sector moving ‒ from those managing operations and protecting assets to those building businesses, solving problems and creating lasting client relationships. In the case of women, who currently represent just 3% of such professionals, they are playing an increasingly significant role, leading businesses, raising standards and quietly influencing the course charted.

As the island’s yachting sector matures, more are steadily coming into the picture, bringing with them new perspectives and leadership rooted in care. Here, we meet four women whose unique paths into a yachting career are helping shape one of Cyprus’ fastest-growing sectors. Far from seeing themselves as competitors, they are helping each other grow, their different journeys revealing common themes and experiences.

Natasa Panagiotou Iordanous never intended to build a career in yachting. Fifteen years ago, she was looking for a new job when her husband suggested she help him at his company, Blue Point Yachting. She never left. “In the first month, I was going to interviews,” she recalls, laughing. “Then, when I got offered a job, he told me, ‘You’re not going anywhere!’”

Gradually, what began as a temporary arrangement, became a career. Taking care of boat shows and global events to represent Blue Point and their international brands abroad and travelling to shipyards and client meetings, Natasa immersed herself in every aspect of the business, learning the industry first-hand while taking on more responsibility.

As Marios continued to lead the commercial side, Natasa developed her own expertise in marketing, client relations, administration and the personalised details that transform a yacht, with the support of the dedicated Blue Point Yachting team. And although she always felt she had to prove herself, Natasa earnt recognition for her contribution with a quiet confidence that let her work speak for itself. “I learned a lot from my husband,” she reflects. “He’s the mind and the logic and I am the creative and the heart. We complement each other, so, whatever the client needs, together we find the balance.”

LASTING RELATIONSHIPS

Today, as Marketing & Administration Coordinator at Blue Point Yachting, Natasa’s role incorporates everything from customer relations and managing the events and boat show to travelling with customers to outfit their yachts’ interiors.

Having become more closely involved with clients, over time, many have become friends, placing complete trust in Blue Point to oversee everything ‒ from the purchase of a yacht to its management and after-sales care. Such trust, Natasa believes, is earned by genuinely caring about the people behind every project. “Because this business is personal to me, I care deeply,” she explains. “I want the result to be perfect, exactly as I would want it for myself. I think our clients feel that, and that creates trust.”

Now, with 15 years of experience, Natasa has become as much an expert in understanding people, as yachts. And along with going the extra mile for clients from all around the world, she believes handling the smallest details often leaves the biggest impression. Of course, somewhere along the way, the distinction between work and life has quietly disappeared. Weekends are often spent with clients or attending industry events. “I can say with confidence that it’s not work,” she smiles. “It’s a lifestyle.”

One of the industry’s most active advocates for collaboration and growth, Julie Chitaeva has spent much of her career helping shape Cyprus yachting from within. Starting out in 2014, at almost exactly the same time that Limassol Marina opened its doors, “there was a real sense that a new chapter for the country’s maritime sector was beginning”, she recalls. What she initially thought was a marketing position for a big-name yacht dealership quickly turned into an intensive education, under the guidance of a mentor who encouraged her to learn every aspect of the business. “Over time, I gained a complete understanding of the ownership journey,” she says. Today, as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Seanesthisis Yachting Services, Julie oversees everything from yacht management, charter operations and owner representation to business strategy, sales and client and crew relations. “Some days I’m discussing long-term plans with yacht owners, other days I’m travelling to events, inspecting yachts, coordinating charters or solving operational challenges behind the scenes,” she explains.

GROWING TOGETHER

Given her love for the sea, life on and around the water has always been more than a profession for Julie. Yet what ultimately drew her to the yachting industry were the people, their stories and the endless opportunities to learn from them. Beyond the credibility arising through competence and professionalism, Julie believes it’s the investment in genuine human connections that transforms clients into long-term relationships. “The important

thing is that you guide the clients to make the right decisions that they are happy about, and to build long-term relationships, not just to make a quick transaction,” she says. “Our philosophy is always that the relationship comes first.”

Today, while growing Seanesthisis is Julie’s focus, she also finds time to support the wider industry. As a founding member of the Cyprus Yachting Professionals Association (CYP), co-organiser of the Cyprus Yachting Conference and event partner for the travelling Art Explora Festival that saw its museum yacht dock at Limassol Marina in 2025, she has been integral in the creation of platforms that encourage collaboration across the sector, raise professional standards and lend the industry a stronger collective voice. “It’s about putting competition aside and coming together to support each other and promote Cyprus as the yachting hub that it is,” says Julie. “If the industry grows, everybody benefits.”

Creating more opportunities for women is part of that same vision Julie hopes greater visibility will encourage more to see yachting as a career – one in which they not only thrive, but also help reshape the industry’s future. “When we had the first meeting for the Association, I was the only woman at the table,” she recalls. “More have joined and I hope that number keeps growing. It’s important to have women representing us.” Today, whether recommending their business, introducing them to a client or simply ensuring they have a seat at the table, Julie always looks for ways to support her female peers. “That’s how we grow—not individually, but together.”

Insuring a yacht means understanding one, says Demetra Evripidou, Director of Marine and Yachting at ENA Evripidou, Cyprus’ first dedicated marine insurer.

n Demetra Evripidou’s corner of the industry – as Director of the Marine and Yachting department at ENA Evripidou Facilities & Insurance Agents Ltd – trust is built through expertise. Policies and paperwork are just one side of that offering. Understanding the risks long before problems arise demands a detailed knowledge of the vessel itself and the many moving parts that keep it afloat. “It’s very different from insuring other assets,” she explains. “You need to know how a yacht operates, understand the marine environment and have enhanced knowledge to advise on the right cover. There are so many aspects that need to be taken into consideration to ensure they’re receiving the right level of protection.”

Today, ENA Evripidou is one of Cyprus’ leading specialists in marine insurance, but Demetra’s journey into the yachting industry began much earlier. As a family of sea lovers, the Evripidou clan would take every opportunity to get out on the water together. In fact, it was the need to insure their own boat that led to

the creation of Cyprus’ first dedicated marine and yacht insurer – which Demetra now leads. Alongside helping the family business grow, she also spent 20 years in the demanding corporate world, which gradually saw her work more closely with yachting experts, marine business owners and registries in different jurisdictions. “The more I learned about the marine sector, the more I realised how dynamic and diverse it is,” she says. Building on such expertise and maritime knowledge with further specialised training, “I assumed leadership of the Marine portfolio within our family business”.

UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION

Having spent two decades in the corporate and marine industry, she’s seen attitudes towards women evolve. While Demetra believes progress is being made, she is equally convinced that many of the industry’s most capable women are still not as visible as they deserve to be.

This has led her to become actively involved in organisations working to strengthen both the industry and the women working within it. As a member of WISTA Cyprus and the newly-established Cyprus Yachting Professionals Association, she values the opportunity to share knowledge, mentor others and learn from women working across every corner of the sector. “We bring together people from insurance, yacht management, brokerage, engineering and the crews themselves,” she explains. “We discuss the issues we’re facing, share ideas and organise seminars and trainings for everyone to benefit. It’s a great opportunity to make everyone’s lives smoother.”

It’s also an environment where Demetra believes women have a unique contribution to make, pointing to the qualities of organisation, communication and multitasking as a natural complement to an industry where technical expertise and client service go hand in hand. Looking ahead, she also believes the opportunity exists for even more women to build careers in the evolving sector. “Cyprus’ yachting industry is still growing and I’m optimistic about its future,” Demetra says. “As it matures, I’m confident we’ll see the number of women in the industry grow.”

For every woman opening the door, others are stepping through it. And among those contributing to this new generation of yachting professionals is Daisy Petevis Tepper. Growing up in Cyprus, Daisy feels the sea is, naturally, home. Yet her career in yachting began almost by chance. After living abroad for 12 years, COVID brought Daisy home, where her brother convinced her to stay and join the family business. “I came back to Cyprus by accident,” she laughs. “But, to cut a long story short, we ended up launching Helisea as a boutique yachting agency under the parent company of Nemitsas, which was followed by Goodflow – a yachting supplies concierge we launched in 2024.”

Entering the industry with no prior yachting experience and a limited network of contacts in Cyprus, Daisy nevertheless quickly found her feet as Operations Director at Helisea, securing a high-profile partnership with leading global yachting agency Aquera Group within the first three months, and working on one of the biggest superyachts Cyprus has ever seen at 160 metres. “We’ve grown steadily since then,” she adds.

Daisy herself thrives in this fast-paced environment. A cracked jacuzzi. A missing part. A yacht arriving within hours. No two days are ever the same. She enjoys taking on each new challenge, calmly managing unexpected or last-minute requests and getting genuine satisfaction from finding solutions to whatever problem comes her way. “You need to be a quick-thinking, problem-solving multitasker, who stays calm,” says Daisy. “You need to think on your feet, know who to call and know they’ll pick up!”

EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS

Rather than competing with the people who had built Cyprus’ yachting industry, Daisy chose a different tack. Her natural leaning towards collaborations led her to learn from them, work alongside them and build relationships based on mutual respect and admiration. “I never tried to overstep anyone,” she explains. “They made the industry in Cyprus what it is today, so I only have respect and admiration for them.” Through this approach, today she can count on experienced professionals who will always respond to her calls, in mutual support of their businesses.

Daisy also knows what she wants, and at a level of quality exceeding expectations. Rarely satisfied with “good enough”, in her book, the smallest details make the biggest difference. A case in point concerned the polish and shine of ventilation grills for a 35m sailing yacht. Though the client was satisfied with the sample from her first supplier, it failed to meet her own standards. So, she kept looking for alternatives. “I know it sounds like such a small thing,” she says. “Everyone kept saying ‘it’s fine’ and I was like, ‘Nope!’ I wasn’t getting the result I wanted. So, I kept looking until I found exactly the right grills at the same price. When everyone saw the finished result, they couldn’t believe the difference! These are the things that elevate the whole experience.”

Such energy, resourcefulness and uncompromising commitment to the highest standards have helped position her as a leader in the industry. Yet for Daisy, what is most rewarding is the hard work’s outcome: a yacht departing with happy owners, a contented crew and a satisfied manager. Even before hearing they’ve recommended Helisea to someone else, these are the clearest signs that every extra mile was worth it.

Every place has its own rhythm. With more than 15 cafés, restaurants and bars along a single promenade, Limassol Marina is the city’s most complete dining destination – and three new openings this season suggest it has no intention of stopping there. From the first espresso of the morning to drinks with friends at night, the waterfront never sits still.

MORNING LIGHT

The day begins, as many good days do, with coffee and nowhere in particular to be. Cafés are already open to familiar early faces, and the Marina fills gradually with dog walkers, runners and parents pushing strollers. The hiss of espresso machines cuts through the salty air. There is a quiet energy to it all, softened by the sea.

Some collect a takeaway coffee from Caffè Nero, where the signature Classico blend and a rotating selection of single-origin coffees bring a quietly Italian ritual to the waterfront. Others settle onto PAUL’s terrace, the aroma of buttery croissants and freshly-baked pastries wafting from the bakery. The French maison, whose story began in a family bakery near Lille in 1889, keeps two spaces at the Marina: a patisserie and espresso bar for those passing through, and a café-restaurant for those with time to stay.

UNHURRIED SUNDAYS

If mornings are about routine, Sunday brunch is about ritual. Places at the table multiply as friends gather in groups, grandparents arrive hand in hand with their grandkids and one round of coffees quickly becomes another. It’s the Marina at its most sociable, and one of those rare occasions when there is no pressure to watch the clock – only to decide where to begin.

At Café Calma, brunch is tackled with the same easygoing philosophy as the Marina itself. The menu moves comfortably between breakfast favourites and

lighter lunch dishes, with a dessert counter and cocktail list that carry the venue well into the evening, and guests tend to linger, returning later in the day as the waterfront shifts in tone.

A short walk away, Jamie Oliver Kitchen offers a dedicated brunch menu celebrating the classics, from Eggs Benedict to fluffy pancakes and syrupy French toast. Among the first Jamie Oliver Kitchen locations to open anywhere in the world, the restaurant draws on two decades of the British chef’s food travels, and the brunch table is where that generosity shows most clearly. Gazebo Mare, the only beach bar on the Marina’s Peninsula beach, extends the experience beyond the table. Steps from the restaurant, the sandy beach offers an easy transition from brunch to sunbed, seamlessly blurring the line between dining destination and beach escape.

LUNCH BY THE WATER

By lunchtime, the Marina is at its liveliest. Crews return from a morning at sea, clients meet over meals instead of agendas and shoppers pause between boutiques. Lunch here is less about following a plan and more about choosing the kind of afternoon you want.

DELTA SYMMETHEXIS MADE TO BE SHARED

At Delta, the meal begins in the middle of the table. Named after the Greek word symmethexis – “to taste together” – the restaurant embraces the tradition of sharing food, conversation and time with others. Guests explore a variety of dishes rather than order individually, in a contemporary take on one of Greece’s oldest dining customs.

Just beyond the dining room, the expansive wooden terrace extends towards the waterfront, where uninterrupted Marina views and cool evening breezes invite guests to linger long after plates have been cleared. Whether for a leisurely lunch or dinner by the water, it’s a place designed as much for connection as it is for good food.

Delta and Azura, two of the Marina’s newest openings, have quickly settled into the lunchtime rhythm. At Delta, plates arrive for the centre of the table and conversation does the rest, while at Azura the focus shifts towards the kitchen, where Mediterranean dishes and the scent of freshly-baked bread stretch lunch easily into the afternoon.

For a quicker stop, wagamama brings its London-born Pan-Asian kitchen to the waterfront, with dishes cooked fresh and served the moment they are ready. And next door, TGI Fridays continues to be a dependable choice, pairing familiar American favourites with an atmosphere that appeals to every generation. For those heading straight back out on the water, several of the Marina’s kitchens now deliver across the development, from residences to berths, so lunch can follow you to the quayside.

AS THE SUN GOES DOWN

As evening falls, the Marina changes almost imperceptibly once again. Lit-up terraces fill with conversation, and dinner takes centre stage. Some tables are reserved weeks in advance to mark an occasion; others are chosen on a whim, simply because nowhere else seems worth rushing off to.

Nearby, MATA takes a different direction, with contemporary Korean cuisine introducing bold flavours. The first Korean restaurant in Cyprus, it prepares its dishes to traditional recipes, with many of its ingredients brought in directly from Korea, paired with soju, Korean beers and makgeolli, the country’s traditional rice wine.

As dinner winds down, the night is only just beginning. Epsilon Restobar has been a favourite for cocktails overlooking the yachts, its verandas catching the last of the evening light, while Marina Breeze brings an energetic tempo, with DJs, cocktails and a late-night crowd.

By this point, the yachts have become silhouettes, the lights shimmer across the water and the Marina settles into its final rhythm of the day. What defines the place is not any single venue, but the way they come together to create a destination that carries you effortlessly ‒ from the morning’s first coffee to the last drink beneath the stars.

AZURA A MED FOOD JOURNEY

Azura was conceived as more than a restaurant. Thoughtful interiors inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean set the tone for a dining experience built around warmth, generosity and time spent around the table. The kitchen embraces a philosophy of food “cooked slowly, seasoned simply, shared

generously”, and much of the menu passes over live fire, as plates are set down to be shared rather than served. Once inside, the Cigar Lounge’s impressive 10-square-metre walk-in humidor takes pride of place. On its glass door, a bold inscription declares: “Two things a man never forgets: his first love and his first cigar”. Within it, stacked on shelves in ornate boxes accommodating an array of sizes, forms, flavours and limited editions, are premium cigars for sale, hand-rolled by artisan torcedores. Patrons may purchase sticks to smoke on-site or at home or boxes to take away, and the selection is endless.

For good reason: whereas a Casa del Habano stocks Cuban cigars alone, the Lounge, as a Habanos Terrace, is licensed to carry both Cuban and ‘New World’ offerings. This means prized Cuban marques, such as Trinidad, Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann and Juan Lopez, are found alongside premium Nicaraguan, Honduran and Dominican names, among them Oliva, Plasencia, Camacho and Zino. The selection runs from the accessible to the rare, and Andreas keeps it that way by design. "We have something from a few euro to 500 euro a cigar," he says. "It suits everyone ‒ from someone just starting out to the serious collector."

Located at the heart of Platres, both properties place guests just a few steps from its cafés, shops and winding streets. “As soon as you step outside, you’re in the centre of the village. You’re part of village life,” says Maria. A stroll through Platres reveals lanes lined with artisan workshops and specialty family-run businesses. One of the village’s best-known stops is the famous Platres Chocolate Workshop, where bean-to-bar creations incorporate Cypriot flavours such as Commandaria wine and rosewater. “There are many local workshops in the village that we recommend to our guests,” explains Maria. “People can learn about lavender, discover traditional products and get to know the people behind them.”

NATURE ON YOUR DOORSTEP

The surrounding landscape feels vast and almost majestic – rolling hills blanketed by dense forest, shimmering rivers carving through shady valleys and a network of trails weaving deep into the Troodos Mountains.

Starting just outside the village, the Caledonia Trail follows a mountain stream through shaded woodland to its namesake waterfall. Nearby, Millomeris Waterfall plunges into a swimmable pool, while Chantara offers a more secluded alternative. Higher up, the Artemis Trail loops Mount Olympus with panoramic views across the Troodos range, while the longer Atalanti Trail winds through black pine forest past decommissioned mines and centuries-old juniper trees. “Having someone who knows the mountains, their stories and the places visitors might otherwise overlook adds a whole new perspective,” says Maria.
