CARDIAC ADVANCEMENTS
You never stop to think how important it really is to have access to advanced cardiac care close to home. Not until you need it. In 2017, the community came together to make a mark on heart care for our community. As a result Lima Memorial will soon provide access to the most sophisticated heart rhythm management capabilities in the region. Leveraging our relationship with The Ohio State University Heart & Vascular Center, our expert team of physicians will perform the most intricate electrophysiology (EP) procedures of the heart. Through your support we have also provided access to the most advanced cardiac imaging and support systems and have expanded services for individuals with congestive heart failure.
DIAGNOSTIC LUNG CANCER EQUIPMENT New diagnostic lung cancer technology at Lima Memorial began making a lifesaving mark on the fight against lung cancer, thanks to the support of so many individuals and businesses. Unique to the region, this new technology allows physicians to definitively diagnose and stage lung cancer through a safe, minimally-invasive approach. Early diagnosis means earlier treatment for patients, and early treatment leads to saving lives.
SURGICAL ROBOTICS PROGRAM Lima Memorial’s Robotics Program continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for our patients and has subsequently garnered national attention as a mentor site. As a result, we have been able to attract highly specialized suregons to our region. What began as an investment in technology has evolved into a world-renowned program that is making a mark on the lives of so many individuals with a faster recovery and quicker return to normal activity.
SIMULATION AND EDUCATION LABORATORY Thanks to philanthropic support, our Simulation and Education Laboratory is making a mark on the health and safety of our community. This state-of-the-art training center is transforming the way we educate and develop our healthcare professionals through the use of real-to-life simulation mannequins. As the first and only center of its kind in the region, the simulation experience allows for the deliberate practice of skills for our nursing, clinical, EMS and healthcare students, providing a sense of realism without compromising the health and safety of patients.
