LIFESTYLE LETTER
So Much to be Thankful For! There is something special about November. The temperatures start to drop, the mornings feel a little crisper, the leaves are changing, and suddenly we find ourselves reaching for cozy sweaters, warm drinks and a little more time around the table with the people we love. November is also a time to celebrate Thanksgiving and reflect on what truly matters. It’s a month to recognize and celebrate our veterans as well. While Veterans Day gives us a special opportunity to honor those who have served and sacrificed for our country, I believe we should be celebrating and thanking our veterans every day. Their service and sacrifice are something we should never take for granted. As I reflect on this past year, I am incredibly thankful for this Windsor community. I’m thankful for the people who make Windsor such a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family, the local businesses that continue to invest in our community, and the incredible people who open their doors and share their stories with us each month. Every issue of Windsor City Lifestyle gives us another opportunity to celebrate the people and places that make this community so special, and I never take that for granted. I’m also incredibly excited about what is ahead for Windsor City Lifestyle in 2027. There are so many great things coming, and I’m grateful that I get to be part of it. As we gather around our Thanksgiving tables, I hope you take a moment to appreciate the people, places and little moments that make life meaningful. Happy Thanksgiving, Windsor!

The Secrets to Beautiful, Functional Living Spaces There’s something special about gathering friends and family in a space that feels welcoming, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Whether you're hosting Thanksgiving dinner, game nights, casual coffee dates, or festive cocktail parties, the way your home is designed can make all the difference in creating memorable experiences. A well-designed hosting space isn't just about aesthetics; it's about functionality, flow, and creating an environment where people naturally want to gather.
Stacy and Aaron Alms of Illusions Complete Home Solutions
Comfort is key when entertaining. Guests tend to linger longer when seating is comfortable and inviting. Mixing sofas, accent chairs, benches, and bar stools provides flexibility for gatherings of all sizes. Layering soft textiles such as area rugs, throw pillows, and blankets helps create warmth and encourages guests to relax and make themselves at home. Lighting plays a significant role in creating the atmosphere of a hosting space. A combination of ambient, task, and accent lighting allows you to adjust the mood depending on the occasion. Dimmer switches, decorative chandeliers, pendant lights over kitchen islands, and strategically placed lamps can transform a room from bright and functional during the day to warm and intimate in the evening. Successful entertaining often comes down to the details. Ample storage keeps clutter out of sight, while durable materials stand up to the wear and tear of frequent gatherings. Consider features such as built-in cabinetry, beverage refrigerators, serving stations, and easy-to-clean surfaces that make hosting effortless. When functionality is thoughtfully integrated into the design, homeowners spend less time managing the space and more time enjoying their guests. Every homeowner entertains differently, which is why designing a hosting space should be tailored to your lifestyle. Whether you're dreaming of a spacious kitchen for holiday gatherings, a dedicated dining area to share meaningful conversations, or a cozy living area, thoughtful design can transform your home into the perfect place to connect. GIVING TOGETHER A Community That Shows Up
Every year, City Lifestyle sends checks to hundreds of families in need across the country through our annual Giving Campaign and our nonprofit arm, Kingdom Building Foundation. But none of it would be possible without you. We can only help the people we know about, and

that’s where our readers come in. If you know someone quietly struggling, whether it’s a single parent, a senior citizen, or a family facing something they never saw coming, we want to hear their story. Nominations are what make this whole campaign possible.
We provided a chair lift for a teenager paralyzed in a gymnastics accident so she could move freely through her own home again. We helped a child who lost an eye to cancer get the prosthetic because insurance wouldn’t cover it. We covered dental work for a man who needed his smile back just to walk into a job interview. We got heat turned back on for a family who had spent part of the winter without it. We helped a family keep up with bills while a husband and father fought pancreatic cancer, and we helped another family cover medical expenses after the unimaginable loss of a child. These are just a few examples of some of the hundreds of individuals that have been helped through nominations from readers like you. None of it happens without someone noticing first and speaking up. "We don't just send checks," says Steven Schowengerdt, CEO and founder of City Lifestyle.
“We send a message: You are seen, you are loved, and you are not forgotten.” Together with City Lifestyle President Matthew Perry, Steven has helped shape this into a tradition that goes far beyond the holiday season. "This is about community," Matthew says. "We believe we've been blessed, so now we get to be a blessing." Often, the person making the nomination gets just as much out of the experience as the recipient. There's something powerful about being part of the reason someone else's burden got lighter, especially when that need might have otherwise gone unnoticed. The campaign is completely confidential. No names are ever shared or publicized, and nominating someone is as simple as telling us their story. We are looking for those in our communities who fall between the cracks of getting help, and together as a community, we can meet those needs.
Nominations open November 1st and close December 3rd. To nominate someone in your community, follow @CityLifestyle on Instagram and find the form in our bio, or visit KingdomBuildingFoundation.org.
This season, giving starts with you. Let's do it together. Nominate someone in need today.

THE GIFT OF COMMUNITY TRUST NRBH's work is guided by the belief that everyone deserves access to care and hope.
22
EXP E RT H E LP | HEALTH + WE LLN E SS
For more than 50 years, North Range Behavioral Health has served Weld County. The greatest gift the organization has received is the trust people place in it. It’s a gift North Range never takes for granted and one the organization continually works to earn. Trust can look like a parent reaching out because they are worried about their teen. It can be someone walking through North Range's doors after losing a loved one, unsure what to do next. Or it can be a friend joining someone they care about for that first step toward change. Those moments may seem small, but they’re the first steps toward healing. People invite North Range into life’s most personal moments. They allow the organization to walk with them through uncertainty, growth, grief, recovery, and change. That invitation carries responsibility, and North Range never takes it lightly. North Range has learned that people reach out for care for many reasons. Most people will face a challenge that feels bigger than they can manage. Whatever brings someone through North Range’s doors, they are met with compassion, dignity, and encouragement.
ARTICLE BY MICAELA SANCHEZ | PHOTOGRAPHY BY NORTH RANGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
EVERY DAY, INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND PARTNERS PLACE THEIR TRUST IN NORTH RANGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH. NORTH RANGE IS GRATEFUL FOR THAT GIFT.
Mental Health Day at the Capitol. NRBH Team with Representative Lori Garcia Sander, who represents House District 65.
Nearly 500 employees serve approximately 18,000 people each year across more than 25 Weld County locations. North Range’s continuum of care allows the organization to show up throughout life’s journey. Maybe it’s grief, trauma, or a diagnosis not yet fully understood. Maybe it’s building stronger bonds with a child or helping a loved one find their footing. Whatever the circumstances, North Range’s goal is the same: to offer compassionate care every step of the way. That spirit of care is reflected in law enforcement professionals who invite North Range to partner following a 911 call for service. The organization sees it in healthcare providers strengthening whole-person well-being, employers who recognize that mental health matters in the workplace, and local leaders, nonprofits, faith communities, and advocates creating a healthier future for their neighbors. North Range is encouraged by leaders, including those representing Windsor and surrounding communities, who recognize that mental health is essential to a thriving community. Windsor has a strong spirit of service and a belief that neighbors help neighbors. North Range sees it in people who volunteer, rally around local causes, celebrate one another's successes, and step forward when someone needs help. That willingness to show up for one another is one of the things North Range appreciates most about Windsor, and it continues to inspire the organization’s work. North Range is grateful to serve through its Counseling Center at Windsor and to walk alongside people as they find their path toward connection, healing, and a brighter future. The organization is equally grateful for the partnerships that make this work possible. Whether they involve local government, businesses, nonprofits, or volunteers, these relationships remind North Range that supporting mental wellness is never one organization’s work alone. It takes people showing up for one another. It takes neighbors checking in. It takes teachers who notice when a student may need extra care. It takes coworkers who ask how someone is really doing. It takes friends who listen without judgment. It takes people willing to be present during difficult seasons. CONTINUED >
The organization’s work is guided by a simple belief: everyone deserves access to care and hope. As Weld County’s behavioral health safety net provider, North Range is here for people from all walks of life and financial circumstances. Some access services through private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Others are uninsured. Regardless of ability to pay, North Range connects people with the care they need. No one is turned away because of financial barriers. Many people are surprised to learn that North Range is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. The organization’s work is made possible through grants, charitable giving, partnerships, and people who believe mental health support should be accessible to everyone. North Range sees that generosity throughout the community. Partners open doors for collaboration; donors invest in healthier futures; volunteers share their time, and advocates reduce stigma and raise awareness. Together, they help people find care and connections close to home.

Together, those everyday acts of compassion create the conditions where healing, recovery, and resilience can grow. North Range has occasionally heard itself described as one of Weld County’s best-kept secrets. The organization understands why. Much of its work happens quietly in counseling rooms, classrooms, schools, homes, hospitals, groups, gathering places, and conversations that may never make headlines. It happens one relationship at a time. If North Range is going to change that, the organization will need the community’s help. Not because North Range seeks recognition, but because someone reading this article may need help and not realize it is available. They may know a family member, friend, coworker, neighbor, or new parent carrying more than they should carry alone. The more people understand what behavioral healthcare looks like and where to find it, the easier it becomes to take that first step toward help. As Colorado Gives Day and the season of gratitude approach, North Range is reminded that care for one another takes many forms. Some people volunteer. Others advocate for mental health awareness. Some build partnerships, attend events, share resources, or make charitable contributions. Every act of generosity strengthens North Range’s ability to serve and helps keep care accessible for those who might otherwise have difficulty reaching it. Above all else, North Range is thankful for the people who make this work possible. The organization is grateful for every person who has trusted North Range to be part of their journey, every partner who has joined the organization, and every supporter who has helped make care accessible. The stories that stay with North Range are not stories of hardship. They’re stories of courage. The parent who made the call. The friend who asked one more question. The teacher who noticed. The neighbor who reached out. The person who chose hope when things felt difficult. These moments often happen quietly and without recognition, yet they have the power to change lives. Healing rarely happens in isolation. It grows through connection, compassion, and the willingness to show up for one another. When someone takes that first step toward care, when neighbors gather around a shared purpose, and when people make room for one another, hope takes root. As North Range looks toward the future, the organization remains grateful for the trust its neighbors place in it and inspired by the ways Weld County cares for one another. Together, they are building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community for generations to come. If you or someone you know could benefit from support, call 970.347.2120 or visit NorthRange.org. In Windsor, North Range Behavioral Health is grateful to work alongside community partners who believe in the importance of mental health, connection, and caring for one another. Sometimes, making a difference begins with something simple—checking in with a neighbor, listening without judgment, or asking someone how they are really doing. North Range also offers community education, including QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training, which teaches people how to recognize warning signs and respond when someone may be experiencing a mental health crisis or suicidal thoughts. These everyday acts of compassion can remind people that they are not alone and that support is available. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for free, confidential, 24/7 support. Local support is also available through North Range at 970.347.2120. A Bank in Your Corner Windsor State Bank combines personalized service, local expertise, and a commitment to community. A visit to Windsor State Bank is much like a visit to a familiar friend’s home. Picture being greeted by name, offered a warm welcome, and given personalized attention - practices that all make it clear that you’re banking with a trusted partner, not just another financial institution. An extension of Wray State Bank, Windsor State Bank was founded in 2011 as a place to launch a broader portfolio - one that reaches beyond the agriculture-heavy products offered at the Wray branch, while keeping a clear focus on community-mindedness. Branded as ‘Windsor State Bank, a Branch of Wray State Bank,’ this hometown institution has established itself as a true local presence bearing the name of the very community it so proudly serves. Their commitment to community is at the heart of everything Windsor State Bank does. This dedication shows up not only in the name of their holding company - Heart of the Community - but also in the numerous contributions of time and resources the bank makes in and around the Windsor area. From volunteering with Weld Food Bank and partnering with Windsor and Severance school booster clubs, to being involved with the Windsor Downtown Development Authority and Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce,

We just have that local touch.” In other words, they have the flexibility to really get to know their business customers, learn their operations, listen to what it is they need and want, and see how they can best support them. Do you have a student in your life? Windsor State Bank offers a student checking account and a competitive, high-yield student savings account designed to teach Windsor’s youth the importance of saving. These are great financial vehicles for a young person getting their first job or for a college-aged student, giving them a healthy start toward financial wisdom and independence. On the lending side of things, decisions are made in-house rather than at a large corporate office. Because bankers already know their customers, they are better able to suggest products that meet a business owner right where they are, rather than offer impersonal, one-size-fits-all solutions. What’s even more advantageous is that, by handling the underwriting themselves, loan officers are able to keep financing decisions close to home and help local dollars continue CONTINUED >

circulating in the community. Sarah highlights, “When you lend local, you help businesses grow local - and that spending comes back to strengthen the whole community.” Staying local-minded is another example of Windsor State Bank’s commitment to community. Another, often unexpected but standout benefit of banking local is the added layer of fraud protection. Knowing their customers by voice and habit allows the folks at Windsor State Bank to easily flag any suspicious behavior by recognizing inconsistencies before it’s too late. Having that extra measure of security is unique to the local banking experience. “Being involved and being a resource for our local small businesses as their financial partner is something that we strive for,” Sarah shares. Being able to call and get someone on the second ring that you can talk to - all of us are here, willing to help anytime,” Sarah adds. ON MAIN COWORKING BRINGS MODERN FLEXIBILITY AND TIMELESS CONNECTION TOGETHER IN THE HEART OF WINDSOR
ARTICLE BY BRITTANY BISCEGLIA PHOTOGRAPHY BY BRUNO CARDOSO
When you work from home, it can feel like you’re always at the office. Whether you need inspiration or simply a change of scenery, On Main Coworking offers something increasingly valuable: a place to work on your own terms without working alone. Located in the heart of downtown Windsor, On Main is the community’s first dedicated coworking space, created by owners Seth Bunting, Steffen Bunting and Bruno Cardoso. For Bruno, the concept was shaped by experience. His journey into coworking began in Brazil, where research and discovery helped shape the organic approach he brought to Windsor: listening to the community and responding to what people wanted and needed.
DESIGNED WITH INTENTION
Step inside On Main and you’re not simply entering an office; you’re immersing yourself in a space where ideas, creativity and connection can converge. The sleek environment feels peaceful and professional, with thoughtful touches that soften its sophisticated design. That balance was a collaborative effort among all three owners, with Steffen heading the project as general contractor. His extensive remodeling experience helped bring their shared vision to life, while Bruno’s background in interior design photography brought an eye for lighting and composition. Seeing the completed environment even helped inspire On Main’s final logo. From private offices and a collaborative conference room to a state-of-the-art podcast studio and classic English-style telephone booth, personality and practicality coexist. Local artwork adds warmth, while coffee from Fort Collins’ Lima Coffee Roasters brings comfort to the workday. Just beyond the doors is downtown Windsor: perfect for grabbing lunch, a walk-and-talk or inspiration between meetings.
WORK YOUR WAY
There’s something special about being independently connected; sharing a space because you choose to, on your terms. On Main meets people where they are, whether they need a permanent office, a place to work for the day or something in between. CONTINUED > NOVEMB ER 2 0 2 6 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . For those looking for a regular home base, On Main offers two primary membership options: Private Office and Flex Space. Those who simply need an occasional change of scenery can book a secure, reserved workspace for the day without becoming a full-time member. The conference room provides a professional setting for meetings and collaboration, while the podcast studio gives creators and businesses a dedicated place to record. Podcast users can also benefit from promotional opportunities through On Main, helping their work reach audiences beyond the studio. Entrepreneurs who don’t need a physical workspace every day can establish On Main as a permanent business address or virtual office for a monthly fee. Secure access and an on-site Community Manager Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. provide support, while a printer, copier and charging stations help make the workday seamless. The philosophy is simple: all-inclusive flexibility without surprises. Whether you’re stopping in for a productive day, establishing a professional home for your business, meeting with a team or recording your next podcast, On Main lets you choose the space and services that fit the way you work.
BELONG AUTONOMOUSLY
Perhaps what sets On Main apart most isn’t what’s inside the space, but what can happen within it. Community feedback revealed that people weren’t simply looking for somewhere else to work. They were missing connection. On Main was created with that human need in mind; a place where people can maintain their independence while still

experiencing the energy, perspective and inspiration that come from being around others. “We want people to feel like they belong here and they are proud of it.” That sense of belonging is especially important to Seth, whose natural ability to bring people together helps shape the culture at On Main. His calm, positive presence reflects the environment the owners hope to foster: one where people feel comfortable connecting, collaborating and simply being themselves. Belonging happens when people get to know one another, and On Main hopes to encourage that naturally through member gatherings, public events, shared spaces and everyday conversations. Ultimately, On Main captures the vibrancy of downtown Windsor while offering opportunities to build professional relationships within an environment intentionally designed for productivity, creativity and connection. It’s a place for entrepreneurs, remote workers, small businesses and creatives. But the larger idea is remarkably human. In a world where work can happen almost anywhere, On Main offers the best of both worlds: the autonomy to work your way and the opportunity to be part of something around you. Because sometimes, the most inspiring place to work isn’t home or the office. It’s somewhere you choose to belong. Ready to find your place On Main? Stop by and experience the space at 417 Main Street, Unit 2, in downtown Windsor. Bert Smith & Mary Lambert U.S. Army | Staff Sergeant, E-6 U.S. Army Reserves | Staff Sergeant Bert: I joined the United States Army in 1966, and my military service was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. After basic training, I completed advanced training and jump school. For six of my eight-and-a-half years in the Army, I served as a paratrooper. Through my training, schools, and duty assignments, the military taught me the importance of flexibility and keeping an open mind. I learned not to make up my mind too quickly, but to consider each situation carefully before making a decision. One individual who significantly influenced my military service was my Commanding Officer in 1971, Colonel David H. Hackworth, who served in three military conflicts. Since leaving the Army, my life has taken me through many changes, including different occupations, positions, and places to live. Nearly seven years ago, my wife, Mary, and I moved to Eagle’s Peak. We feel fortunate to have found such a wonderful community, and in our opinion, the current staff and management are the best we have experienced during our seven years here. If today’s youth understood how military service can provide valuable life lessons, discipline, flexibility, and a better outlook on life, I believe it could help make the world a better place. Mary: I enlisted in a Reserve medical unit in 1978. Why? That’s a good question, as some members of my unit and I were older than the typical recruit—but I did it! During my time in the Reserves, I learned to balance military and civilian life while working full-time and raising my son.
Looking back, I can see how much my military experience stayed with me. I always looked forward to our two weeks of annual training. We often didn’t know what we would be doing until we arrived at our duty station. Assignments ranged from augmenting staff at a military hospital to preparing for a possible future event. Since then, my life has changed, with a detour or two along the way. I moved with my son from Vermont to Colorado, returned to school, and earned my bachelor’s degree in nursing, thanks in part to the VA. After retiring from nursing, I met and married Bert. Eventually, in 2020, we moved to Eagle’s Peak in Windsor.
Tyler (Ty) Toner USMC | Corporal My time in the Marine Corps gave me many memories, but a few stand out. On November 12, 1990, while we were somewhere along the Saudi Arabia-Kuwait border, we received an unexpected visit from Steve Martin. Rather than entertain everyone back at the camps, he wanted to see the Marines on the line. He was flown out to us and put on a comedy show. Before leaving, he kindly autographed the vehicle I was assigned to. One of the most inspirational people I met during my service was my Commanding Officer, M.H. Smith, known to his Marines as “Iron Mike.” There wasn’t a Marine in his command who wouldn’t have followed him through fire and flames. Today, my wife and I are proud to call Eagle’s Peak home, where we’ve found community, friendship, and many good friends. CONTINUED > NOVEMB ER 2 0 2 6 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . C O M / W I N D S O R

Gary L. Gillenwater U.S. Navy 1974-1979 | Radioman 2nd Class “It’s not just a job—it’s an adventure.” I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1974, near the end of the Vietnam era, as a young man in debt and without direction. Over four and a half years, I gained discipline, teamwork, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships. My service included two years in Hawaii with a helicopter squadron, a year aboard a Philippines-based oiler, and a final tour in Antarctica. Getting lost in an Antarctic blizzard and navigating rough seas taught me to put safety first. After following my grandsons to Colorado’s Western Slope, I settled at Eagle’s Peak, finding independence, connection, and tranquility.
Ira Hillyer U.S. Army Reserve & JAG Unit In 1968, at 25, I graduated from the University of Texas School of Law as the Vietnam War was heating up. I chose to join a U.S. Army Reserve unit rather than apply for an Officer Training Program. I was assigned to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where I completed Basic and Infantry Training as a Construction Engineer. I was the oldest in Basic Training, and younger recruits called me “Colonel,” although my rank remained Private First Class. After a year as a Construction Engineer, I transferred to a Judge Advocate General (JAG) unit, where I completed service alongside others committed to serving our country.
John Jerry Steel U.S. Navy One year after graduating from Seton Hall University, I was drafted and chose to enter the U.S. Navy. Before my service, I worked on the billing staff of New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and completed IBM training. Because of that experience, the Navy assigned me to the Bureau of Navy Personnel in Arlington, Virginia, near Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon. Our group was tasked with automating day-by-day ship-location reports for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I spent all 24 months of active duty in Arlington, where we successfully designed and implemented the system. It was a privilege to serve our nation.

BLINGLE PREMIER LIGHTING OF NORTHERN COLOR ADO TRANSFORMING HOMES, BUSINESSES, AND COMMUNITIES WITH PROFESSIONAL OUTDOOR LIGHTING EXPERIENCES
ARTICLE BY PHILIP SCHUYLER
Crisp, professional roofline lights highlight this gorgeous home’s architectural details for a polished holiday display.

The holiday season has a unique way of bringing neighbors together. A beautifully illuminated home creates more than curb appeal; it sparks conversations, inspires friendly neighborhood competition, and adds warmth throughout the community. At Blingle of Northern Colorado, the team helps homeowners and businesses create displays that reflect their property's character while making the season more memorable for family, friends, and visitors. Each project is designed to create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the holiday season.
One of the biggest trends this year is permanent architectural lighting. More homeowners are choosing professionally installed systems that blend seamlessly with their home's exterior while remaining nearly invisible during the day. With a tap on a smartphone, these systems can celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Independence Day, birthdays, game days, or everyday accent lighting year-round. It's an investment that delivers beauty well beyond the holidays while giving homeowners flexibility throughout the year. Classic holiday lighting never goes out of st yle. Crisp roof line lighting, beautifully decorated greener y, wrapped trees, illuminated pathways, and thoughtfully placed landscape lighting work together to enhance a home's natural beaut y. Rather than creating an over-the-top display, many homeowners prefer a polished design that delivers lasting curb appeal and holiday charm. Carefully selected lighting can highlight architectural details, draw attention to landscaping, and create a warm, inviting appearance. Every installation begins with thoughtful design. The Blingle of Northern Colorado team considers the home's architecture, landscaping, color palette, and focal points before developing a customized lighting plan. By layering rooflines, trees, pathways, and landscape features, the team creates displays that deliver a festive "wow" factor while maintaining elegance. This personalized approach ensures that each installation feels intentional and complements the property's character. For busy families, the greatest benefit of professional holiday lighting is peace of mind. Climbing ladders, working on icy roofs, replacing burnedout bulbs, and storing tangled lights can quickly become stressful. Blingle provides a complete turnkey experience, including custom design, professional installation, maintenance throughout the season, timely removal, and

Blingle of Northern Colorado is honored to support Northern Colorado nonprofits and community organizations through complimentary event lighting, including the Weld RE-4 Education Foundation Summer Social and miles. Beyond races which bring families together while raising funds for meaningful causes. The team has also enjoyed enhancing the beauty of Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor with professionally designed architectural and landscape lighting that welcomes members and visitors year-round. Blingle believes that lighting has the power to strengthen communities and create lasting memories. Blingle of Northern Colorado proudly serves homeowners and businesses with professional holiday lighting, permanent architectural lighting, landscape lighting, event lighting, and outdoor audio solutions. With customized designs and a full-service approach, the team helps customers create outdoor spaces that are beautiful, memorable, and uniquely suited to their properties. Gabriel and Mariah Garcia-Hitt, Agency Owners For our family and agency, this season is about gratitude. For our faith, our three daughters, our dedicated team, our wonderful clients, and the community that has welcomed and supported us since the beginning. We especially cherish the simple traditions that bring us together, including making homemade pies with our daughters and creating memories in the kitchen as a family.

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition will always be seeing the sweet potatoes and marshmallows make their way onto the table; but, even more than that, it’s spending it at the fire station with my husband, or in Colorado Springs surrounded by my family.
After 30+ years, my husband and I decided it was time to break up with the traditional Thanksgiving turkey—and we haven’t looked back! Now, our feast changes every year, from taco bars and spaghetti spreads to ham with all the fixings. The menu may be untraditional, but the best parts never change: family, laughter, full bellies, and memories made around the table.
Growing up, Thanksgiving wasn’t really a tradition in my home. We usually had pizza and watched TV. When I became a mom, I wanted something different for my children, so I learned as I went, creating our Thanksgiving traditions along the way. Now my kids have it down, adding their own touches and carrying those traditions into their own families. What started with me, now continues through them.
