April naturally brings conversations about finances, planning, saving, and making smart investments for the future. Financial wellness matters, and in Windsor, institutions like Adams Bank & Trust remind us that banking is about more than transactions. It’s about relationships, trust, and community connections. Strong financial foundations allow individuals and businesses to grow, but they’re just one piece of a much bigger picture.

This month, we’re expanding the conversation to include other meaningful forms of investment that support our wellbeing and future alongside financial goals. True success comes from balance, and the stories in this issue reflect how Windsor residents and businesses are investing in themselves, their work, and their community.
An investment in the body is essential, especially in a fast-paced world where stress and burnout are common. In our feature on True Therapeutics, we explore why self-care is not indulgent but necessary. When the body is supported, the nervous system can settle, allowing us to move through life with greater ease, resilience, and presence at work, at home, and within our community.
Career paths also require intention and care. Our article on Taylor's CDL Training highlights the accessible, hands-on training needed to build a sustainable career. Career investment isn’t just about certification; it’s about preparation, opportunity, and creating a stable path forward.
Networking, community involvement, and supporting local businesses are investments that pay dividends beyond financial gain. Andrew Johnson with Business Networking Done Right exemplifies this by prioritizing relationships and local engagement, reinforcing that business success is strongest when paired with genuine connection.
Traveling with friends also plays a powerful role in wellbeing and renewal. Shared experiences, unhurried conversations, and time away from daily routines allow space to reconnect, gain perspective, and return home refreshed. These trips aren’t about packed itineraries or perfect photos, but about meaningful moments and lasting memories.
As spring unfolds, April reminds us that investment isn’t singular. It’s layered. Financial planning provides stability, while investing in our wellbeing, our work, and our community creates fulfillment. When these pieces are nurtured together, the return is a healthier, stronger, and more connected Windsor.
This month’s stories celebrate that balance and the many ways our community continues to invest wisely.

Andrew Johnson’s Relationship-first Approach Helps Business Owners Grow Through Trust, Collaboration, and Meaningful Connections
ARTICLE BY DANA OLSON

“When a business owner decides to invest in networking, they’re choosing to be intentional about who they are looking to meet and the potential relationships they build.”
Small business owners understand the realities that come with entrepreneurship. Often wearing many hats, they juggle the day-to-day responsibilities of business ownership and are met with the added challenge of scaling their business. How does one go about getting seen and growing their client base?
With a love and appreciation for the small business owner and the experience of growing his own personal business through digital means (which, while effective, admittedly is a great deal of work), Andrew Johnson, owner of Business Networking Done Right, began to see the value in building genuine relationships with people who were truly in his corner. As he became more intentional about surrounding himself with people who wanted to see him succeed, he realized he never wanted to do business any other way. That realization gave life to his vision of creating a distinct brand of networking, one that feels different from anything else being offered. Andrew understands how valuable each relationship and client is to the small business owner and is grateful to be the person who is a champion of that excellence.

A common fear around networking is the misconception that joining a group creates pressure to refer or use people you don’t know yet. But the starting point is connection. When connection exists, relationships begin to evolve toward the exchange of business. A conscious decision is made to support and help the other person, becoming a “top-of-mind” referral partner.
Suggested ways to deepen the relationship include becoming each other’s client to understand the experience, sending referrals to test the process, and gathering testimonials or feedback. Over time, the referral handoff is refined. Trust is earned through consistency and experience.
When a business owner decides to invest in networking, they are choosing to be intentional about who they are looking to meet and the potential relationships they build. Networking provides opportunities to be surrounded by people who have the same mindset around networking - collaboration and the building of relationships. Conversations start with the intention of the relationship leading somewhere. What you put into that relationship determines what you get out of it. Very rarely do people land a “big deal" at a networking event; rather relationships are being built in a space where the know, like, and trust factors can grow. Networking is an evolving
process rather than an immediate exchange. Being in a group with a networking professional like Andrew provides the opportunity for engagement in a system that delivers the evolution of the networking experience, providing the results people are looking for.
It’s this level of engagement that sets Business Networking Done Right apart from more informal and open networking settings. Business Networking Done Right makes the most efficient use of members’ time with a concierge-level connector who facilitates professionally-run meetings and professionally-recruited membership. Not only are members being developed, along with their networking skills, but so are fellow members.
Benefits of Business Networking Done Right include meeting agendas specifically designed to help members with their business. They’re called 2K agendas due to the $2,000 value they bring. Topics like goal setting, tax preparation, and saving money on business expenses are discussed, and members are invited to bring their life experiences to that space.
Also included is private coaching with a professional networker who makes sure members’ relationship development is on track.
In addition, there is an application that helps generate five-star Google reviews and facilitate the referral process.
Andrew’s role as the members’ “full-time hype man,” promoting their businesses and acting as a third-party testimonial, is yet another standout feature that sets Business Networking Done Right apart. businessnetworkingdoneright.com | 970-219-4072

Perimenopause. There, it's said. And Melani Sanders says it too, in her new book, The Official We Do Not Care Club (WDNC) Handbook. This humorous look at all the stages of menopause is about prioritizing yourself and aims to guide you through this life stage. This is not your stale doctor’s office pamphlet on “the change” because who needs another clinical look at such an individual experience? Chapters range from topics such as homes and family to body image, self-care, and many more. With humor, quick and easily digested thoughts, and a mini-challenge in each section, this book is your handy-dandy guide to navigating it all. A favorite is “The Honorary WDNC Throughout History” section in each chapter, which gives refreshing (short) biographies of notable women to help remind us of those who have nobly traveled this path before. Nothing beats wisdom like having a community, and WDNC is helping to make that happen. Face the challenge, take care of yourself, and don't worryeveryone has forgotten where their glasses are at least once a day! Words of Windsor Books and Gifts looks forward to your visit! Taylor’s CDL Training Offers More than Certification, Empowering Students with Opportunity, Stability, and a Path Toward Financial Independence
Blu works alongside a student during hands-on training, part of the practical learning experience that

Northern Colorado native, Mark Taylor invests in our community in a unique and innovative way. As the CEO of Taylor’s CDL Training, he creates realistic, accessible pathways for individuals to transform their financial future in a matter of weeks, without the burden of overwhelming debt.
Mark recognizes trucking as a crucial pillar of the blue-collar industries that are the backbone of our country. Nearly everything we rely on in our day-to-day lives was transported by truck during some point along its journey. His respect for this sector of the workforce fueled his passion to create a more personal, and intentional space for people to invest in their future. With small class sizes, real hands-on training, and an exceptionally personalized approach, Mark prioritizes the relationships that are built along the way over the price tag. By cultivating confidence and stability in his students as they earn their CDL, he helps create a stronger future for them and their families right here in our community.
The personalization that Mark brings to each teaching experience sets Taylor’s CDL Training apart from other CDL programs. By providing each student with his personal phone number, they are equipped with a professional driver literally in their back pocket - Mark is only a phone call or text message away. If questions arise related to a job they are on, Mark invites them to reach out and provides on-thespot guidance.
“Drive Your Future Forward,” words that headline his website, serve as both his guiding principle and an invitation for students. They represent momentum, accountability, and ownership as Mark moves forward alongside his students, going beyond just earning a CDL and into reshaping their trajectory to help them step into a future they choose.
CONTINUED >

Many are unaware of the doors that are opened with a CDL certification that go beyond driving alone, with varied avenues across agricultural, energy, and construction to name a few. Mark notes that linemen apprentices, in particular, are often not even considered for hire without a Class A CDL.
Taylor’s CDL Training offers courses up to four weeks in length, but it is also the only school in Colorado approved by the Department of Private Occupational Schools and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to offer a one-week program. Mark fought for and ultimately pioneered this accelerated option for individuals who already possess hands-on driving experience but need formal certification to expand their opportunities.
For example, many in agriculture operate trucks and trailers under specialized vehicle registrations known as farm plates, allowing them to drive for farm-related work without a CDL. Because these individuals often bring years of real-world experience maneuvering large equipment, a traditional four-week course may exceed what they need.
The one-week program is designed with that reality in mind. Students must meet specific prerequisites, including holding a CDL learner’s permit for at least 30 days and completing 40 hours of supervised driving with a licensed CDL holder. With those foundational skills already in place, Mark focuses on refining technique, preparing students for inspection standards, and guiding them toward successful certification.
Mark is grateful to be part of the Northern Colorado community. As a business owner, he appreciates the growth this region is experiencing and is thankful for the trust placed in his school by students. As a thank-you - and as a testament to Mark’s desire to help - Taylor’s CDL Training is offering a coupon for $500 off any course to those who mention seeing their ad in City Lifestyle magazine, just another way Taylor’s CDL Training continues to invest in our thriving community.
To “unlock your road to success" be sure to check out all that Taylor’s CDL Training has to offer at www.taylorscdltraining.com, call 720340-9386, or email info@taylorscdltraining.com. Mark, along with his expert instructors Blu Cantu, and Chris Wombolt, will be happy to support you every step of the way.

Adams Bank & Trust welcomes community members during a Windsor gathering, reflecting the bank’s commitment to connection, conversation, and local involvement.

“Anyone can have a bank, but not everyone may have a banker.”
— CHRIS GENTLE, VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMERCIAL
BANKING
When most people hear the word investment, they think of financial portfolios and bottom lines. At Adams Bank & Trust in Windsor, the definition stretches far beyond dollars.
For Wanda Zimmerman, Vice President of Retail Banking, investment begins with connection. She compares it to moving into a new neighborhood; making the effort to meet people, build relationships, and become part of the fabric of the community. Adams Bank & Trust has done just that through longstanding membership in the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and consistent local involvement.
Internally, the bank invests heavily in its employees. Alexis Unnerstall, Commercial Relationship Coordinator, explains that Adams prioritizes promoting from within, strategically hiring talent, and offering flexibility so employees can thrive both professionally and personally. “Happy employees equal happy customers,” she says. Team members are given agency, encouraged to pursue their passions, and supported in ways that extend beyond their job descriptions. Families come first.
Chris Gentle, Vice President of Commercial Banking, sums it up simply: investing in people yields the greatest returns. When employees and clients succeed, the business succeeds. Loyalty, he notes, is one that is built first through trust.
Adams Bank & Trust views itself as a participant in Windsor, not merely a service provider.
Chris is actively involved in the Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce, Aims Community Foundation Board, and Rotary, while the bank supports organizations such as the Windsor Downtown Authority, Windsor Booster Club, and Severance Booster Club. Sponsoring events and showing up consistently reflects a deeper philosophy of “paying it forward.”
For Alexis, community engagement means being “boots on the ground.” The bank encourages
employees to walk the talk: volunteering, attending events, and modeling positive citizenship. Investing in one’s own family and personal relationships, she adds, ultimately strengthens the broader community.
Wanda shares that living and working in the same town has reshaped her perspective. Being present for both professional and personal moments in Windsor fosters a deeper connection. Planning events she’ll attend herself brings added meaning to her work.
At Adams Bank & Trust, relationships are intentional. From the first day of employment, culture matters. New hires are asked what they hope to gain from their experience with the company, signaling that their goals matter. The bank hires experts who lead by example, modeling the kind of service and professionalism clients can expect. “We are the company we keep,” Alexis says.
Chris emphasizes a straightforward philosophy: treat people how you want to be treated. It’s a simple standard, but one that guides daily interactions with both clients and colleagues.
Leadership plays a critical role. Wanda notes that culture begins at the top, with a CEO who prioritizes interpersonal skills and sets the tone for consistency and professionalism throughout the organization.
Trust in banking is earned over time.
“Do what you say,” Chris explains. Honesty, transparency, and the willingness to have challenging conversations build credibility year after year. In a fastpaced world driven by immediate gratification, being prompt, intentional, and genuine sets a bank apart.
Wanda points to consistency and persistence as key ingredients. Clients want reassurance that their banker will be there - not just during easy moments, but through complex decisions as well.
For Alexis, referrals are the ultimate measure of trust. When clients recommend Adams Bank & Trust to others, it reflects not just satisfaction, but confidence.

“It’s about how you make people feel,” she says. Being human, supportive, and present turns transactions into partnerships.
If someone wanted to invest in Windsor without writing a check, the Adams team has clear advice: get involved.
Wanda encourages residents to volunteer in ways that genuinely interest them. “Make it fun,” she says. Diversity in passions strengthens the community. Alexis adds that being a good citizen - friendly, aware, and engaged - can make a lasting impact. “Don’t be a bystander.”
Chris believes the greatest returns come from investing in connections. Passion and genuine effort create a ripple effect that benefits everyone involved. He often reminds others that “those who wait, wait longer.” Progress requires initiative, because time never stands still.
“Anyone can have a bank, but not everyone may have a banker,” says Chris.
And in Windsor, being a banker means showing up, building trust, and putting people first.

Carla Akers, owner of True Therapeutics, integrates advanced techniques including cupping therapy to address deep muscular tension and support recovery.
HOW REGULAR MASSAGE BECOMES A COMMITMENT TO YOUR WELLBEING
BY CARLA AKERS | PHOTOGRAPHY BY DAVID GROSSMAN WITH COLORADO PHOTOGRAPHY
There is a quiet moment many people experience, usually when life slows just enough, where they realize how much their body has been holding. Not pain exactly. More like effort.
Shoulders that never fully drop. A jaw that stays clenched even when nothing is wrong. A body that works hard all day, every day, without much thought about how it is being supported in return. It is not a crisis. It is a question.
What would it feel like to be truly cared for?
This is where investing in your body begins. Not from fear or discomfort, but from a desire to feel better in a deeper, more lasting way.
Many people wait to invest in their body until something hurts. But the most meaningful care often happens before pain demands it, when the goal is not fixing a problem but sustaining wellbeing.

“Regular massage becomes stewardship, not repair, reminding the body it matters because it carries your life, not that it is broken.”
Regular massage, when approached intentionally, becomes a form of stewardship. A way of saying that this body matters. Not because it is broken, but because it carries your life.
When massage becomes part of how you care for yourself, the experience changes. Muscles soften more easily. Movement feels freer. Stress does not lodge as deeply. The body no longer feels like something you manage. It feels like something that supports you.
That is the difference between occasional relief and true maintenance.
Not all massage invites this kind of commitment. To invest in care, people need to feel seen, understood, safe, and confident that their time and money are being honored.
At True Therapeutics, massage is practiced as skilled, attentive bodywork that is never rushed and never generic. Each session is guided by how the body arrives that day, including where it is holding tension, how it is compensating, and what it is asking for.
Sessions may include focused approaches such as Deep Release Massage, designed to work with long held tension patterns while supporting mobility and nervous system regulation. Advanced techniques such as myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and targeted therapeutic work allow care to be effective without overwhelming the body.
Over time, people notice deeper sleep, easier recovery, steadier energy, and a sense of being more at home in their body. This shift is not dramatic. It is grounding. And it changes everything.
Investing in massage does not mean overhauling your life. It means choosing a rhythm that supports you.
For some, that looks like sessions every few weeks. For others, it means monthly care that keeps tension from building too far. During demanding seasons, it may mean coming in more often, not as indulgence, but as support.
“When the nervous system feels safe through consistent care, muscles release, sleep deepens, and the body supports life with ease.”
This is care that invites trust, and trust is what makes consistency possible.
One of the most profound shifts clients often experience has little to do with muscles. It is a feeling of settling.
When the nervous system is constantly stimulated by stress, responsibility, and pace, the body stays guarded. Muscles do not fully release. Sleep does not restore. The body remains on alert, even during rest.
Regular, nervous-system-aware massage helps change that conversation. Gentle, precise techniques, including Spinal Flow-informed work, help signal safety and allow the body to soften from the inside out.
The goal is not frequency for its own sake. It is continuity.
When the body knows it will be supported again, it lets go more fully. Progress builds. Care deepens.
At True Therapeutics, this rhythm is always discussed collaboratively, with respect for your life, your needs, and your goals.
Investing in your body is not about fixing something that is wrong. It is about choosing how you want to live.
It is about deciding that feeling grounded, mobile, and well is not something you postpone. It is something you cultivate.
At True Therapeutics, the intention is simple. To offer care that feels thoughtful, skilled, and deeply supportive - care that adds real value to people’s lives.
Because the most meaningful investment is not just in feeling better today. It is in a body that continues to support you calmly, confidently, and well for years to come.

An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD
PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.
A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.
Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?
A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.
Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?
A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.
Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?
A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.
“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”
Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?
A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”
Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.
This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now.
