We are a debt relief agency, helping people file for bankruptcy under the bankruptcy code.
Legal Tip of the Month from Bacon Wilson What Not To Do Before Filing For Bankruptcy If you are struggling with debt and considering bankruptcy, it can be difficult to know what, if anything, you should do to prepare. As a general rule, the less you have in assets, the less will be available to liquidate for your creditors. However, if you start unloading assets before filing bankruptcy, you can cause yourself extreme difficulty and your actions may come back to haunt you. First, do not give away money, as the bankruptcy trustee will, in all likelihood, be able to recoup the gifts and place your bankruptcy discharge in jeopardy. Do not run up your credit cards, which could also place your bankruptcy discharge in jeopardy. Do not withdraw funds from your retirement account, as most retirement accounts are exempt from the reach of creditors in bankruptcy, meaning that withdrawals could expose you to taxes and seizure of funds by the bankruptcy trustee. These warnings are just a small taste of “What Not To Do.” Happily, the “To Do” list is a lot shorter and simpler: Consult with an attorney! Our team at Bacon Wilson works hard to prepare you for bankruptcy and maximize your protections. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

As we move forward into our 3rd year, we hope to double down on this momentum and continue expanding to share more and reach more! We have recently increased our distribution, and as you see, we have increased our pages! We will never get "too" big, but we don't think it's a bad thing to bring more positive stories into your homes! In this issue, please enjoy a walk through the Westfield Fair and a behind-the-scenes look at Westfield's first outdoor concert in two years! Enjoy the pumpkin bread recipe, endeavor to eat a healthier breakfast, and educate your loved ones on Medicare's Open Enrollment Period! And, if you're looking to get the best physical therapy out there (yes, I'm biased :), then you must call our friends at Resilience Physical Therapy and Wellness.

ARE THOSE PINK RIBBON PRODUCTS SAFE? October is here and with that, a plethora of pink ribbon campaigns and fundraising for breast cancer awareness. We’re inundated with “pinkwashing” that pulls on our heart strings to support the cause. Before we head to the checkout counter, it’s important to ask a few questions: Does any money from this purchase actually go to support breast cancer programs? And if so, how much? How will the funds be used? Is the product contributing to the breast cancer epidemic? I encourage offering support but it’s equally important to slow down and do a little research about the ingredients in the product and how the fundraising will impact research, support and prevention. This horrific disease will take the lives of over 43,000 men and women by the end of this year. It’s up to us to stay informed, proactively take

the drugstore and medical-grade skincare? Not all skincare products are created equally. While you might get sucked into pretty packaging or wallet-friendly options, these are not the most effective options. Medical-grade skincare requires extensive clinical testing to prove all efficacy claims; cosmetic products require no testing from the FDA. Medical skincare consists of a higher percentage of active, quality ingredients and is required to contain 90% pure ingredients. Cosmetic products are only required to include 70% pure ingredients. Medicalgrade skincare is only available through licensed professionals, like The Shot Shop.

On a sticky summer night the best thing to drink is a
nice cold frozen lemonade slush! After drinking this I felt so refreshed and kept wanting another! It wasn't too sweet or too tart. It was the perfect consistency.
DINNER. North Elm Butcher Block has the best pulled pork around, so when I was ordering my loaded baked potato I needed to get pulled pork on it. The flavors of the potato, pulled pork, cheese, bacon, chives, and pickles blended together so well in every bite. I was impressed. This meal was so good, I cannot stop raving about it to others! I am so excited for Butcher Block to carry this item again on their "Food Truck Fridays."

FALL FLAVORS WITH LOCAL FOOD BLOGGER
CULINARY CREATIONS
PUMPKIN BREAD THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT FALL IN NEW ENGLAND THAT IS BREATHTAKING. The combination of stunning leaves, crisp weather, apple cider, bonfires, and pumpkin spice are a few of the reasons why autumn is my favorite season. Growing up, the treat I loved most was a pumpkin bread my grandmother made. Once I discovered my passion for cooking and baking, I created my own pumpkin bread and I am excited to share it with you. I hope you enjoy! Follow my blog on Instagram for more fall recipes, @hellofoodreviews.

PARTING THOUGHTS
D E M YS T I F Y I N G MEDICARE OCTOBER 15TH TO DECEMBER 7TH IS THE ANNUAL
OCTOBER 15TH KICKS OFF ANNUAL OPEN ENROLLMENT
OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD FOR MEDICARE TO DROP OR SWITCH YOUR PLAN COVERAGE. I don’t charge for my services. When I enroll a client, the insurance company pays me a commission. I work with most insurance carriers sold in Massachusetts for Medicare: Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plan.
HOW I RUN AN APPOINTMENT
01 Per Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, we need to have a Scope of Appointment signed to advise we will be talking about Medicare options, with no obligation to enroll. The form only requires basic information such as name, address, phone and date of appointment.
02
I run a short video that explains basic information about Medicare Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D.
03
We then review your prescriptions, and I use a CMS program to enter each prescription with the dose and how often. That will cut down which plans will
ARTICLE CHRISTINA BEEKE
be a good option.
42
04
We then check to see if PCP and other doctors are in the network or not. I answer questions as they come up to address concerns.
Westfield Lifestyle | October 2021
05
The meeting ends in a couple different ways: you enroll in a plan, you set up another meeting (need more time to think about it), you stay on Original Medicare (Part A and Part B only) with Part A & B deductibles and 20% cost sharing.
I prefer in person visit or zoom, but I will work with clients based on their comfort level. I always want family members or friends there as I know this can feel overwhelming. The most important thing for me is that every client is in the right plan for them. This year, Hampden County will have a number of new plans available, so it is important that everyone reevaluate their plans. If I discover that the plan the client is on happens to be the best for them, I will advise that they stay on that plan. Please contact me to set up your no-obligation consultation at 413-977-6016, cbeeke1@gmail.com.
