Sanctuary at Redfish is just one of many luxury properties Newman-Dailey has available for you to choose from when deciding where to stay. Located in Blue Mountain Beach, Sanctuary at Redfish is a 64-unit resort nestled within the natural vegetation along one of South Walton's rare coastal dune lakes. Four pools, two jacuzzis, large fire pit, outside grills and private pool cabanas are just a few of the amenities on this 14-acre property. A pontoon boat takes guests on a scenic five minute ride through Big Redfish Lake to the beach. "We know this property is very special and important to the coastal ecology of the region," said Captain Bob Sellers, who runs the pontoon boat. "A big part of our effort is education. We educate guests on the fragile dune system and explain why walking on the dunes is not permitted. We also share information about the lake and the many species that make it their home," said Captain Bob. do - a glass art workshop at The Shard Shop. Make A Drees Home Your Dream Home ARTICLE BY LINDA DOHSE

When it comes to building homes, experience says a lot. Drees’ commitment to excellence runs four generations deep; they’ve been family-owned and operated for over 90 years. Drees first entered the Nashville market in 2001 when they acquired Zaring Homes, a luxury builder known for handcrafting premium homes, that had already been active in the area for 15 years. The best part of this story is that several of the original Zaring employees are still with the Drees team today. When building a home with Drees, customers have the freedom to tailor their dream home inside and out. They can design their home to match their personal

lifestyle, working with the Drees team of architects' award-winning floor plans, exclusive options, and impressive designs. Drees has a reputation for doing it all, be it quality construction, stylish design, customer service, or financial savvy. Excellence is built into the Drees family tradition of home building and they take pride in their strong homeowner recommendation rate. Drees knows that while industry accolades and rankings are important, what means most to them is what their homeowners have to say. Drees Homes' principles and expertise make building a custom home an easy and fulfilling experience. Their simple and seamless two-phase Custom+ Construct SM

approach combines the best of both worlds – custom design possibilities with the efficiencies of production home building. This makes it easy for homebuilders to get the home they want at a price they can afford. Their state-of-the-art design center is where function meets fashion, and a professional design consultant will help turn a customer’s Drees home into their dream home. The Lobliner family recently built their dream home and shared, “The best part was picking everything we wanted and seeing it all come together. We loved that Drees has a design center where you could see so many different options all in one spot.” Drees Homes has earned the title of "America's Best Builder" (twice) from Builder magazine, "National Builder of the Year" from Professional Builder magazine, and the "National Housing Quality Award" from the National Association of Home Builders, making them one of the few builders to win the “Triple Crown” of national home building awards. Today, Drees Homes is the 18th largest privately-owned home builder, offering a wide variety of communities in Williamson, Davidson, Sumner, and Maury Counties. A Drees home can also be built on a customer’s own lot in a custom community, or via an infill opportunity in historical neighborhoods through Design Gallery Homes by Drees. DreesHomes.com

Naomi and Wynonna Judd Leave Their Mark on Country Music THE JUDDS TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME ARTICLE BY MARIA DINOIA | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

With Reba at the CMA office for the Hall of Fame virtual announcement.

One of the most successful duos in country music history, The Judds, scored 20 Top 10 hits, including 14 number 1s, between 1984 and 1991. Mother Naomi and daughter Wynonna had an illustrious career that included five GRAMMY® Awards, nine CMA Awards and seven from the Academy of Country Music, dominating vocal duo categories through the 1980s. It's no surprise to anyone that their contributions to country music have been recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame in electing the duo to be inducted in the class of 2021, alongside the likes of the great Ray Charles, drummer Eddie Bayers and producer Pete Drake. Naomi says, "There are certain things in my life that have made me have a little bit of a sense of worth or approval, and this is just the ultimate pat on the back. I can't grasp it yet. To be in the same situation as my friends Dolly and Reba...I'm just thrilled." Wynonna adds, “This moment takes me back to 1983 when Mom and I first started. We would get in the car and visit multiple radio stations a day. It kind of feels like I’ve hit the lottery. It is so surreal. John Lennon always said that he just wanted to be remembered, and now we’re truly part of history, or I should say HERstory. What an honor.” Naomi continues, "There was a genre of us that came up around exactly the same time. We were heralded as the real face of country music. One of the things I remember reading was a review of our first album that said 'we were like crystal water flowing down a creek.' I was so encouraged. I mean we had started singing on a rural mountaintop in Kentucky. We didn't have a TV or a telephone or neighbors. We started singing together for homemade entertainment." CONTINUED >

Naomi had financed the family’s move to Nashville by renting her restored 1957 Chevrolet — the same she’d drive from California to Tennessee — for use in “More American Graffiti” and by securing roles for her and Wynonna in the film. They made the move in 1979, and Naomi took a job as a nurse at Williamson County Medical Center. In early 1980, she and a 15-year-old Wynonna began appearing in the early mornings on WSM-TV’s “The Ralph Emery Show.” Emery dubbed them the “Soap Sisters” after Naomi told him she made her own lye soap. Their break came via a chance encounter with Nashville producer Brent Maher, whose teenage daughter — a schoolmate of Wynonna’s — was injured in a car accident. Maher had seen the Soap Sisters’ television performances and recognized Naomi, one of his daughter’s nurses. When Maher’s daughter was discharged from the hospital, Naomi gave Maher a tape she and Wynonna had made on a portable tape recorder in their kitchen. Maher began working with the two singers and, following a live audition in the offices of RCA Records’ Nashville office, they secured a recording deal with RCA Records/ Curb Records. The rest is history. The ladies in the Judd family have lived in the Franklin/Leiper's Fork area since around 1989. Naomi discloses, "When I was growing up in little Ashland, KY, I lived in a neighborhood where the houses were pretty close together and I was in everybody's homes and I knew everybody. Through the decades, I wasn't able to recreate that. But when I found Franklin, it felt like a community. Ashley lives up the hill from us on a farm. Wy is right over the hill behind me on a farm. So we have this community. And I love it here so much." NaomiJudd.com Wynonna.com

Golf Like The Pros ARTICLE BY BRIANNA MELANSON PHOTOGRAPHY BY JAMES WILLIAMS

Ricky Sessum grew up in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Master’s Tournament. At age six, he witnessed Tiger Woods’ debut on the Augusta National Golf Course and years later watched Arnold Palmer walk to the tee box on this same course with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player for the last time as an honorary starter for the tournament. Naturally, this influenced his love for the game and beautiful golf courses. So after 15 years in the landscaping business, he and his business partner decided to launch Music City Turf which has the goal of creating some of the most extraordinary private synthetic golf greens across the state of Tennessee. Music City Turf is middle and east Tennessee’s authorized dealer, designer, and installer for Celebrity Greens™. Their first assignment

with CG took place in Indiana and ended up being the largest privately owned artificial golf complex in North America. Ricky boasts, “It’s over 50,000 square feet and has three PGA-Caliber size golf greens with lighting and stacked-sod bunkers like you see in Scotland.” CG’s signature sand filled greens can hold shots from over 300 yards out. The quality of Celebrity Greens™ is nearly identical to the most famous golf courses and many pros decide to replicate certain holes in their own yard to practice on. The Founders of Celebrity Greens™ have over 24 years of industry experience and have built greens for over 70 PGA professionals. Last year, Ricky’s team joined the CG professionals in Kansas to create a 13,000 square foot golf complex with three target greens for PGA Champion Gary Woodland. The professional golfers are understandably extremely specific. Ricky says, “They’re concerned with having four to eight foot putts that roll very true

because these are ones that they may have missed and essentially lost them tournaments. They worry about speed. They want it to measure on the stimpmeter like the courses they play on tour.” CEO and Founder of Celebrity Greens™, Weston Weber, says, “The attention to detail is critical. A lot of customers think we’re selling putt-putt golf instead of the sophisticated blend of technology and construction we put into our projects.” The Nashville team consists of five installers. Ricky says, “These guys are out playing golf on their days off, so they know how real golf courses act. It’s a huge plus when you’re trying to build the most realistic, authentic product.” Out of all the incredible projects they’ve worked on, the one in Leiper’s Fork last July is Ricky’s favorite. Ricky wondered why his client wanted two regulation size Par 3 golf greens on his property when he didn’t play golf. It turned out that the client’s 22-year-old daughter with CONTINUED >

down syndrome took up the sport a year ago and was taking lessons. The golf complex was so that she could practice in the peace and comfort of her own home without feeling like strangers were watching or judging her. With her own golf greens, she has the opportunity to enhance her game and gain her confidence. Ricky says, “To see her face when she opened the car door to see the course made it all worth it. She was grinning ear to ear and thought it was the coolest thing she’d ever seen in her life.” That 16,000 square foot project, which required 1,600,000 pounds of base material that had to be moved almost a mile off of any main road with very limited access to dump trucks and semi trucks, only took them 11 days when it could have taken up to three months because of the access to Celebrity Green’s™ national installers. Ricky brought in crews from Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Arkansas. They worked 14 hour days in the summer heat, determined to get the project done for the family to enjoy. Ricky says, “These guys are literally the most experienced installers in North America because all they’ve ever done is artificial turf. These are the original pioneers of the industry. We all have the same goal of creating the best golf greens.” They treat each golf green like they’re making it for a pro. Music City Turf isn’t limited to golf greens. If you want to transform your concrete apartment balcony or have a backyard that doesn’t get enough sunlight to grow grass, turf is an excellent low-maintenance alternative. If your dog gets it dirty, all you have to do is hose it down. A daycare in Dickson is getting a new turf playground from Music City Turf. Ricky says, “We make sure the safety of the kids is not overlooked, so if they fall, they have the best padding underneath them.” Whatever the situation, they’re able to build it and make your space aesthetically beautiful. The Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce’s core purpose is to serve the local business community by helping members thrive, while also serving as a connector and trusted resource for the community as a whole. By being a resource for both businesses and residents, it helps the community progress forward by providing information, education, promotion, and connection. The Chamber not only brings business owners together through networking and educational events, but it also provides resources for leadership and development, business referrals, sponsorship opportunities, chamber to chamber discounts, and much more. Since joining the staff at the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce in 2017, Executive Director Rebecca Melton has been driven to share the Chamber’s mission with the community and positively influence the business culture in an effort to help create a better Spring Hill. “We are a non-profit,” explains Melton. “We fill the gaps where private and public leave off. It’s really just trying to foster business, engage the community, connect the community to the businesses, and provide those resources to both. We actually do provide a lot of information to residents and visitors coming through, as well. We’re really trying to emphasize our Welcome Center. We just moved to a new location. We’re at 5326 Main Street [in Spring Hill]. We’re really accessible to people now, so that they can drop in and get information that they need about the community or things to do and we’re happy to point them in the right direction.”

H. CLARK DISTILLERY JOINS FORCES WITH COMPANY DISTILLING ARTICLE BY KAREN CREASON PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

Big changes have come to H. Clark Distillery. Founded in August of 2014, H. Clark Distillery became the first legal distillery in Williamson County in over 100 years after Heath Clark successfully petitioned the Tennessee General Assembly to change legislation outlawing the production of spirits. Crafting spirits using a small copper pot and open flame, H. Clark’s hand bottled, award winning Tennessee Dry Gin has become a fan favorite. Recently, H. Clark Distillery partnered with former Jack Daniel’s master distiller, Jeff Arnett (Master Distiller of the Year 2017), and Kris Tatum, Founder of the Tennessee Distillers Guild, to create Company Distilling. Other partners include Corey and Kevin Clayton of Clayton Homes. Together the team is creating a whiskey brand and other spirits that will be produced in their currently under construction east Tennessee manufacturing facility in Alcoa. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Company Distilling is slated to open their new distilleries and tasting rooms in

Townsend later this fall. Fans of H. Clark’s spirits will be happy to know the creation methods - and most importantly - the taste of the spirits will not change. Company Distilling will continue to pay tribute to the roots and traditions that came before them. The bottle shop and tasting room located in a granary off Thompson’s Station Road will remain open for tours and tastings. With the site having undergone amazing renovations both inside and out, guests will be able to enjoy the H. Clark gin they have come to know and love, as well as Company Distilling’s inaugural product, a straight bourbon whiskey finished with maple wood. It’s the whiskey the team always wanted to make and one “well worth gathering over.” “Meticulously crafted for the best of friends” is not just a catch phrase for Company Distilling. With a strong desire to become rooted in Thompson’s Station and its other communities, Company Distilling hopes to bring people together with spirits “made for sharing.” CompanyDistilling.com

LOCAL REALTOR KATIE GRAY MAKES COMMUNITY A PRIORITY 44

EXP E RT H E LP | TR AVEL

Katie Gray moved to the Nashville area from Texas after her father, who died from cancer, urged her to go after the dreams that felt big and scary. After an initial year of trying out the city, Katie felt that her life was changed for the better. Katie, her husband and two boys have called Thompson’s Station home since 2012. What was once a more rural area with mooing cows greeting them in the mornings, has turned into a booming area of growth. Their home that was once the only one on the street is now surrounded by 900 other houses. “We love the small town feel, while being close to cities which have all the amenities we need. The proximity

to the highway makes Thompson's Station extremely convenient for a commuter,” says Katie. Katie’s mom and stepdad live only five houses down from them so it’s made the area feel like home. During the process of building their home, Katie was encouraged to pursue a career in real estate, and she’s been going full speed ahead ever since. With the Nashville housing market continuing to explode, Katie’s advice is not to wait and see if the market will slow down. She also suggests considering investing in land. “Once the land is bought up, there’s no more of it to buy, so don’t pass that opportunity by. There are many builders we can connect you with to build your dream home.” Katie says that waiting in this market is ultimately going to cost you because the prices just keep rising. “Data does not support any slowing in this market for the foreseeable future and waiting to buy that new home could cost you thousands and thousands of dollars. It is not unreasonable to have a home selling for $100,000 more a year from now, and with the experts not predicting any slowing for Williamson County, this is only expected to continue to increase. Waiting in this market is only costing you," she adds. Being transparent to clients is very important to Katie. She wants her clients to know her as a person first and then as their realtor. “As someone who is social and a people person by nature, this comes easily for me. My family places high priority on our involvement within our community whether that be through my job as a realtor, our gym in Franklin, our church family, children’s sports, or community events. I truly believe in building a business based on integrity and doing what I know I’m good at, which is loving on people. Ultimately, real estate is a people business and I’m happy knowing I’ve served my community well,” states Katie. KatieSellsTN.com
